DICE has released new Battlefield 4 updates for the PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
The patches, which are identical across all platforms, were released to coincide with the launch of the latest Battlefield 4 DLC. The game's third expansion pack, Naval Strike, hit Xbox and PlayStation systems on Tuesday, but its PC release was delayed to an unspecified date.
[h=3]General fixes[/h] - General stability improvements
- Fix for a crash that could occur when players were customizing vehicles.
- Fix for an issue in the Rush game mode where end-of-round screen would always indicate that there were 60 minutes left of the game.
- Fix for an issue where the splash damage for IFV shells, Helicopter rockets, and Mortar rounds was unable to destroy deployed equipment.
- Fix for an issue that could cause the quad bike to explode when it hit indestructible objects.
- Fix for an issue that would cause sniper rifles to display too much bloom when aiming in snowy conditions, especially the outside areas of Operation Locker.
- Fix for an issue where the ECM would sometimes fail to jam incoming missiles.
- Shortened the take-off distances for jets to match the length of the runways in Second Assault maps.
- Fix for going above ceiling exploits in Operation Metro.
- Fix for a new MAV riding exploit.
- Fix for kill camera jittering/strobing sometimes if colliding with other world objects or terrain.
- Fix for soldiers getting catapulted when walking on steep surfaces.
[h=3]Netcode[/h] - Fix for an issue where the kill camera would display the incorrect killer.
- Fix for an issue where the kill card won't show up when playing on servers which have the kill camera turned off.
- Fixed an issue where other soldiers would appear to fire in the wrong direction when turning quickly.
- Fix for weapons firing twice, or not at all in some instances.
- Fix for an issue where explosions didn't do any damage to infantry and vehicles that were outside of the combat area.
- Fix for an issue where late-joining players wouldn't correctly experience Levolution events on Paracel Storm and Flood Zone.
- Fix for an issue that could cause packet loss.
[h=3]Progression[/h] - Added Gold Battlepacks as rewards for Class Service Stars, allowing players that have reached the max Rank to continue earning new Battlepacks.
[h=3]Weapon / gadget tweaks[/h] - Increased the damage of the normal buckshot against targets with Body Armor.
- Reduced the vertical recoil of the M4 and M16A4 to give these burst fire weapons a tighter burst accuracy in their mid- to long range role.
- Reduced the side-to-side and first shot recoil of the G36C. This weapon now has the lowest side-to-side recoil of the carbines, giving it a clear controllable low rate of fire role, especially when compared to the AK5C, Type-95B-1 and the AKU-12.
- Tweaked the detonation time of the 40mm LVG so it bounces less before going off. The maximum damage has however been reduced to 80 like the RGO.
- Reduced the number of how many 40mm HE and LVG rounds players can carry, from 4 to 3.
- Increased the time it takes to get new 40mm round from ammo boxes. The time is longer for HE and LVG grenades and shorter for utility grenades like SMK and FLASH.
[h=3]Grenade tweaks[/h] - Increased the time it takes to get new RGO IMPACT, V40 MINI, M84 FLASHBANG and M18 SMOKE grenades from ammo boxes. Since the player now carries more of these grenades, the resupply delay needed to be longer to prevent grenade spamming.
[h=3]Vehicle tweaks[/h] - Significantly improved the suppression from mounted vehicle weapons, including miniguns, HMGs, LMGs, and all shells types for all armored vehicles.
[h=3]Aircraft tweaks[/h] - Further reduced the repair rate for the Scout Helicopters and the Transport Helicopters.
- Significantly increased the damage of Transport Helicopter miniguns.
- Changed the flight ceilings on Gulf of Oman, Caspian Border and Operation Firestorm to better match the height of the structures in those levels.
- Adjusted the damage of the 25mm and 30mm cannons for both Stealth Jets and Mobile AA to be equal in Damage Per Second to the 20mm default weapons. These weapons were clearly poorer choices in all circumstances, and their different rates of fire are intended to be the player's choice factor for these weapon systems.
[h=3]AC-130 Gunship tweaks[/h] - Increased the splash damage and the range at which the JDAM bombs can achieve max splash damage. The JDAM's power was not properly balanced with its difficulty to use. The JDAM remains a primarily anti-vehicle weapon, though this change will increase the effectiveness against all targets.
- Increased the accuracy and direct hit damage of the AC130 40mm cannons. 40mm cannons can now be used to fire pinpoint shots in 2-3 round bursts, enabling them to provide accurate fire on infantry and vehicle targets. Their velocity has also been marginally increased to aid their accuracy.
- Increased the splash damage and range of the AC130 25mm cannons. These cannons now do approximately 50% more damage, in a slightly increased area of impact. The increased damage as well as increased suppression effects will allow the 25mm cannon to fill its role as an area of effect weapon against infantry.

New Titanfall game modes will be released to all players free of charge.
Responding to fan questions on Twitter, Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed that new modes will be released separately from premium DLC.
"DLC is in the works, not quite done yet tho," he said. "Modes we release will be free to all, not part of DLC."
Respawn has confirmed plans to release three paid Titanfall DLC packs, each of which will contain new maps and other yet to be determined content.
The DLC can be pre-purchased at a discounted rate as part of the Titanfall season pass, which is priced at $24.99 in North America and £19.99 in the UK. Standalone DLC packs will cost $10, Zampella said.
He also confirmed plans to stage Titanfall double XP weekends in the future.
Earlier this month, Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe didn't rule out the possibility of adding to the game's three existing Titan classes, but she said doing so would be a massive undertaking.
Respawn's debut game is available on PC and Xbox One worldwide. The Xbox 360 Titanfall release date was recently delayed for a second time, to April 8 in North America and April 11 in Europe.

The UK release date of Wolfenstein: The New Order has been shuffled forward a few days to 20th May.That's a Tuesday, meaning that Bethesda has now coordinated a simultaneous worldwide release across Europe, North America and Australasia for the title.Developed by MachineGames, a new outfit founded by key members of Riddick studio Starbreeze, the latest chapter in the Nazi shooter series is headed to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One."Running in the opposite direction to the genre big boys by ditching multiplayer completely and focusing on the single-player story, Wolfenstein feels like it takes Valve-style first-person narrative," Dan Whitehead wrote last year in Eurogamer's Wolfenstein: The New Order preview, describing it as having a "pulpy panache".As previously announced, if you pre-order the game you'll secure a Doom 4 beta key.

Microsoft has gone into detail about the Xbox One's player reputation scoring system, and what might happen if you've been naughty.
At first, players with a poor reputation will simply be warned about their disruptive actions - such as abusive language or in-game griefing. But continued bad behaviour will see players paired only with others who misbehave. Users may also lose "privileges" such as the ability to broadcast gameplay via Twitch, a post on Xbox Wire explains.Reputation is shown via a coloured gauge on your profile. Green is "good", yellow and orange signifies "needs work" and red is "avoid me"."Good" players make up the majority of users, and at some point Microsoft intends to introduce rewards for remaining in this category. The first warnings for bad behaviour will be handed out by Microsoft this month - and could see you pushed into the "needs work" category. But Microsoft is keen to emphasise that its algorithm for determining your player reputation score has been designed to recognise deliberate attempts to abuse the system - and it will only penalise players for sustained bad behaviour.

Phil Spencer says Microsoft is open to players loaning digital rights to games or giving them as gifts
[h=3]Microsoft[/h]microsoft.com
As digital games become a larger and larger part of the marketplace players expect to be able to do what they please with the games they've paid for. Already Valve allows its players on Steam to give games to friends, and the company also offers a Family Sharing plan to enable users to play each other's games. Microsoft may soon head in that direction too, if recent comments from Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer are to be believed.
Speaking with GameSpot, the Xbox executive made it clear that his company is fully embracing a digital future and he somewhat justified some of the policies that Microsoft had to reverse course on before launching Xbox One.
"We are now fully heads down on thinking about and building out the future of our digital marketplace to enable what people would expect, and hopefully some things that will delight them beyond their expectations," Spencer said. "I know when I say this I always get beat up, but I think some of what we were trying to say last summer was right."
Spencer made it clear that Microsoft would do a better job of communicating its digital message to players this time around, but it sounds like Microsoft is aiming to just give the audience what it wants.
"We believe in a digital future on our box... what that opens up... we understand what games you own and who you are and how you move around and who you might want to loan rights to your games or gift your games to," Spencer said. "We totally believe in that future. And any other marketplace you play in, these kind of mechanisms are out there."
The Family Sharing plan that Microsoft had envisioned before the company turned 180 degrees on Xbox One policy could be making a comeback soon. E3 will no doubt bring some interesting announcements.

Bohemia Interactive attempted an Arma 2 port for Xbox 360 that ultimately didn't pan out, the developer has revealed.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Arma 2 project lead Joris-Jan van t' Land discussed the attempt to port the popular PC shooter to Microsoft's 360 console, but ultimately determined the team “couldn't get it right.”
That said, van t' Land confirmed multiplatform plans are in the works for Bohemia's next project – though he wouldn't confirm what other hardware is specifically being considered at this time.
"We have the plans in place for that. Whatever is next [ie Arma 4], I don't think a lot will happen this year in terms of pre-production. But 2015 will be the year when we need to start thinking about what's next. We don't have concrete plans at the moment.
"I think it will be something in the franchise [the next game], but we're not sure what. And the company is growing, as you've seen — many new offices — so there are more resources as well to handle multiple [things]."
Bohemia is currently supporting its latest release, Arma 3 – pledging at least two more years of support for the sequel.

Other outlets including the Microsoft Store are following Walmart's lead by reducing the Titanfall Xbox One bundle to $450. Target, Microsoft and Amazon(with the promo code XIAMAZON) are all offering the Titanfall bundle with the $50 discount, and both Target and Microsoft have the same price on the Standard bundle that includes a Forza 5 code.
The Microsoft Store denotes the bundles as "limited time discounts," so don't expect the reduced price to hang around for long, even if the console got a permanent price drop in the UK. On a side note, our pals at Engadget spotted Amazon getting a bit overexcited this morning after the retailer briefly marked down the Forza Xbox One bundle to $400 with the XIAMAZON code applied. It looks like it was an accident, though, since the bundle is back up to $499 and the code no longer works with it.

Microsoft has issued an Xbox Live service alert detailing an outage that currently prevents some users from purchasing digital content and accessing certain in-game features on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Microsoft notes that content access is currently "limited" on both platforms, leaving some users unable to buy new content or re-download previously purchased items. The Xbox One's "Social and Gaming" sector has also taken a hit, temporarily revoking user access to features like video recording, cloud storage data transfers, and multiplayer matchmaking. Xbox One owners experienced a similar service outage affecting online multiplayer gameplayearlier this month.
Forza Motorsport 5 players will also encounter a game-specific outage today due to scheduled maintenance. Microsoft is "getting closer to a fix" for reported issues, and will issue progress reports until service is restored.

The latest act to join guitar tutor Rocksmith 2014 is Matchbox Twenty, a band you'll recall from the soundtrack of nearly every romantic comedy released in the latter part of the 1990s.
Included in this latest DLC offering are five songs: "Unwell," "Push," "3AM," "How Far We've Come" and "She's So Mean." Like the prior Rocksmith DLC releases, which showcased bands such as Weezer and Oasis, all five of these tracks can be purchased for $12. If you'd rather pick up a few songs piecemeal, each is individually priced at $3.
The Matchbox Twenty DLC is currently available for every incarnation ofRocksmith 2014, whether its on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC. According to publisher Ubisoft, Rocksmith 2014 can teach novices to play guitar in only 60 days, which should give you just enough time to assemble a band, book a few gigs, then watch the whole thing collapse due to drugs, sexy groupies and the prying eyes of the E! True Hollywood Story.

Saints Row series developer Volition was creating a post-apocalyptic, open-world action game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 until it recently pulled the plug on the project, senior producer Greg Donovan revealed during a panel discussion at GDC last week.
The game, codenamed "Zeus," was to take place in Rio in the wake of an apocalyptic disaster. Players would control a gunslinging Western-style hero, and gameplay would largely take place on-foot, contrasting the superheroic traversal powers featured in Saints Row 4.
Donovan cites a lack of time and resources as the reasons behind the project's cancellation. "Right or wrong, we know we could've made this game," he said. "But it would've taken too long. It wouldn't have been the responsible thing to do." Currently, the studio is developing a "top-secret" project built on its early experiments with Zeus.

A new Xbox One exclusive from a notable Japanese developer will soon be unveiled, Microsoft's Phil Spencer has revealed.
IGN translates Spencer's interview with Famitsu during GDC 2014, which provided some insight into Microsoft's plans for Xbox One in Japan.
Spencer states that the company is putting together special announcements to accompany Xbox One's launch in Japan this September – specifically mentioning the exclusive when asked what Japanese fans have to look forward to.
"The release date for Japan has been decided, and I'm very excited," Spencer said. "We will release a unique, exclusive title for the Xbox One from a wonderful Japanese developer."
Spencer added that fans can expect Microsoft announcements regarding "something never before seen" at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show. The event takes place September 18th-21st.

Are you an unnecessarily wealthy person?
Do you light candles in your house by rolling up £100 notes, setting them on fire and using them as makeshift matches? In fact, are your candles actually made of melted-down £100 notes?
If you are indeed the sort of person who has more rooms in your house than there are months in the day (people who live in Travelodges not included), then the white Xbox One is the console for you.
In case you aren't up to scratch, the white Xbox One was only made available to Microsoft employees involved in the making of the console and still employed by company at the time of its launch last November.
It also features the words "I MADE THIS" next to the disc slot, which makes me think of the kid's voice at the end of each X-Files episodeevery time I read it.
So, you've got more money than sense and you'd like to own one. You're in luck - someone is selling one on eBay for $2700 (£1630). Hilariously expensive to paupers like me, but no doubt chump change to the likes of you.
If that's slightly out of your budget, have some faith. Your patience may be rewarded, if rumours that a white Xbox One is scheduled for a commercial release later this year are to be believed.

Blizzard has confirmed long-held suspicions that it's working on an Xbox One version of Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.
However, the company isn't yet ready to officially announce whether the game will be released on Microsoft's console or not.
"I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like," Diablo 3 lead producer Alex Mayberry told VideoGamer.
"The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run.
"We have that pipeline worked out... And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out."
The game's first expansion pack, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is set for release on PC and Mac this Tuesday, March 25.
In November 2013, Blizzard announced Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4. It will include both the main game and the Reaper of Souls expansion.
While an official launch date is yet to be confirmed, Mayberry said this week that Ultimate Evil Edition's release "is not far off".
In late February, Blizzard revealed two Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls pre-order bonuses. The first is the Wings of Valour, an "aesthetic artifact" that can be applied to Diablo 3 characters. The second is the ability to unlock Valla the Demon Hunter for use in Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's upcoming free-to-play entry in the MOBA genre.

At least one more Japanese studio is developing an Xbox One exclusive to bolster the console's regional selection.
Microsoft studios corporate VP Phil Spencer told Famitsu (translated byDualShockers): "A unique exclusive title for Xbox One is going to be released by an awesome Japanese studio."
Last week, Microsoft announced plans to launch Xbox One in 26 new markets in September 2014, including Japan.
Spencer told Famitsu Microsoft will have a lot to demonstrate at Tokyo Game Show, which begins on September 18, and he wants "to show everyone something never seen before. Stay tuned!"
Deadly Premonition creator Hidetaka 'Swery' Suehiro's next project, D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, was announced as an Xbox One exclusive - a status Suehiro reconfirmed in November.
Spencer also said last week that Microsoft's E3 2014 press conferencewill feature "very few execs" and is already overstuffed with game-related announcements.
He also downplayed concerns about the ID@Xbox release-date parity clause, saying Microsoft is having "ongoing discussions with independent developers".

Microsoft announced a Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship competition which will award its victor $10,000 in cash and his or her choice of adventurous vacations.
The competition will begin alongside the Xbox One exclusive's release on April 8 in North America and April 11 in Europe.
Qualifying rounds for the game's wake racing, climbing, and bowling events will be held online with a live, in-person final championship planned for July at San Diego Comic-Con.
According to Microsoft the grand prize winner will receive the cash prize and their choice of "a water sports adventure in Bora Bora, walking the Great Wall of China, trekking to Machu Picchu, or skiing the Swiss Alps". Runner-ups will also be given cash prizes corresponding to their success.
Registration for the Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship is open now.
In our Kinect Sports Rivals hands-on preview we worried that most players won't have enough space to get the most out of the game's events, though the depth of its Soccer event alone captivated us for more than an hour.
Check out our interview with Rare studio head Craig Duncan for more on the vaunted studio's future titles.

Big budget blockbusters like Titanfall are expected to drive hardware sales, but Phil Harrison, corporate VP of the Xbox division, argues that smaller indie titles can sell systems too.
In an interview with CVG at GDC last week, Harrison said that indie titles brought to Xbox One via its ID@Xbox initiative can "absolutely" sell systems.
"I think there are games in this room that will be incredibly meaningful to their potential audience and we hope people will buy an Xbox One as a result," he said, speaking in a room full of some 25 indie games announced at GDC for Xbox One.
"The greatest complement you can ever pay a developer is 'I bought a piece of hardware to play your game'. That is what warms your heart, when you hear that from a player. I'm very confident that there will be things in this room [that do that]," he added.
Harrison argued elsewhere in the interview that, despite the controversies surrounding the release parity clause, the ID@Xbox program has been a success for the firm.
"I think we've been successful," he commented. "As you said, 250 developers are already working on Xbox One through this program, which is more than the entire developer community on Xbox 360 over its entire life. So within a few months of announcing the ID@Xbox program, we've already exceeded the independent developer initiative on Xbox 360, which is a great direction to travel."

Microsoft announced 25 indie games headed to Xbox One via ID@Xbox at GDC Tuesday.
The self-publishing program will be home to titles like Super Time Force from Capybara Games, Contrast by Compulsion Games, and Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition. The full list of titles is through here.
