Blizzard has confirmed long-held suspicions that it's working on an Xbox One version of Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.
However, the company isn't yet ready to officially announce whether the game will be released on Microsoft's console or not. "I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like," Diablo 3 lead producer Alex Mayberry told VideoGamer.
"The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run.
"We have that pipeline worked out... And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out."
The game's first expansion pack, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is set for release on PC and Mac this Tuesday, March 25.
In November 2013, Blizzard announced Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4. It will include both the main game and the Reaper of Souls expansion.
While an official launch date is yet to be confirmed, Mayberry said this week that Ultimate Evil Edition's release "is not far off".
In late February, Blizzard revealed two Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls pre-order bonuses. The first is the Wings of Valour, an "aesthetic artifact" that can be applied to Diablo 3 characters. The second is the ability to unlock Valla the Demon Hunter for use in Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's upcoming free-to-play entry in the MOBA genre.
