Microsoft announced a Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship competition which will award its victor $10,000 in cash and his or her choice of adventurous vacations.
The competition will begin alongside the Xbox One exclusive's release on April 8 in North America and April 11 in Europe. Qualifying rounds for the game's wake racing, climbing, and bowling events will be held online with a live, in-person final championship planned for July at San Diego Comic-Con.
According to Microsoft the grand prize winner will receive the cash prize and their choice of "a water sports adventure in Bora Bora, walking the Great Wall of China, trekking to Machu Picchu, or skiing the Swiss Alps". Runner-ups will also be given cash prizes corresponding to their success. Registration for the Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship is open now.
