News via http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/...VkWhCNfEXL.php
Blackaddr released a new version of the Xbox 360 SMC I/O Config Utility - a simple utility to reconfigure output pins on the SMC that are used to execute the JTAG transaction to the GPU. It is used to research and fix problems caused by sharing SMC output pins, or caused by the bit timing of the JTAG data.
What's new/fixed:
* Linux version is now included. Compiled with G++ on Ubuntu.
* This version has very minor updates. I've added an interactive mode for those who like multiple choice. This is to be more newbie-friendly.
* The program now supports modifying SMC files that have already had the I/O changed, so you don't need to keep feeding it the original when testing different configurations.

Microsoft's set to officially lift the lid off Project Natal tonight - and we'll be reporting live.
The platform holder's expected to reveal Natal's price point, release date and the first games during its Natal Experience event in Los Angeles this evening. Cirque du Soleil will be performing too, which will be a nice treat for our men on the floor.
No filming is allowed at the event, unless you're US channel Spike TV that is, who'll be streaming it all out live on American telly.
CVG sources also revealed that Microsoft's set to ditch the Natal name and adopt a new moniker.
The fun starts at 7pm PST/3am BST. Stick your eyes on these pages for all the headlines, as they arrive. If you can stay awake.

Another big e3 rumor is coming our way, this time from the same man that confirmed Halo:Reach before it was announced at last year's E3.
Now he brings us another inside information just before the Microsoft's E3 conference in June 14. According to "Annoying old party man", the 360 slim is a reality and it doesn't end there, it will include internal Wi-Fi like the Playstation 3 and a 250GB HDD.

Sony's PlayStation Move and Xbox 360's Project Natal motion control solutions have been garnering a lot of the spotlight from core gamers and the press, but a new study reflects currently low purchase intent for the new devices.
Research firm OTX's U.S. tracking study GamePlan Insights polled a group of 2,000 gamers between May 23 and June 5, 2010, and found that 8 percent of the Xbox 360 market intends to buy Natal, and 6 percent of the PlayStation 3 market intends to purchase Move.
Of the people that are already planning on buying Natal and Move, 25 percent plan to preorder the controllers.

June 13th, 2010, 12:05 Posted By: wraggster
Codemasters has told Eurogamer that it does not plan to support PlayStation Move or Project Natal in F1 2010, which is due out later this year, and that we're also not going to see any downloadable content.
That's because F1 2010 is the first "next-gen" instalment in a multi-year licensing deal with Formula One, and as soon as the game ships in September attention will turn to the 2011 instalment.
"No, there's no support for Natal or Move in 2010," a spokesperson for the series told Eurogamer when we were getting our hands on F1 2010 for the first time recently.
"It's something we're thinking about, something that's on our radar for future games, because it's a multi-year licence for us. It's not like a one hit and one hit only, so it's something we're considering."
That need to push forward will also preclude the team from looking at downloadable content for this year's iteration.
"There's no plan for DLC, because as soon as we're done with 2010, we're straight onto 2011," we were told, "and it's about getting that core gameplay experience right and then once we've started doing... Once we've got that nailed in 2011, maybe DLC could follow after that."
That desire to nail the authenticity has been paramount, but Codemasters was also anxious to make it clear that F1 2010 will be very playable for the average F1 fan as well as complete petrol-heads. For example, we asked whether subtleties like grip and wing angle would be influential or relevant to the majority of players and how that influenced design of the control system.
"Ideally a wheel is the best way to play it, I don't think anyone would dispute that," we were told, "but it is very playable on the pad now. We've been working on the balancing on the pad for the last six or seven weeks, getting that as tight as we can, so that you do feel little nuances like the feel of understeer and oversteer, that we can get it through the pad as well as we can.
"But also, the audio feedback and visuals can help with that, so for example, a little bit of tyre squeal when you feel like you're understeering can actually see your car kind of drift a little bit because you're getting understeer, then that's the kind of feedback that really helps with a pad, though a wheel is the best way to play it."
There may also be minor concessions to gameplay - the most obvious possibility relating to the Virgin Racing cars, which began the real-life season with fuel tanks to small to run the cars to the end of the race at race pace.
"Yeah, that's an interesting one. It's something we've got to decide whether that's definitely going in, whether you will be able to finish the first couple of races; whether we divorce that level of authenticity for gameplay reasons..."
Oh, and we asked who is likely to win the real-life season (Eurogamer's F1-loving editor reckons either Button or Alonso, slightly insanely). Our friendly F1 2010 spokesperson thinks it's "going to be between Hamilton and Vettel".

June 13th, 2010, 12:04 Posted By: wraggster
In just a couple short days, we'll be soaking in the Vitamin D provided by the blaring Los Angeles sun, digging for stories at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. One of the first events we'll be attending is a preview of Project Natal -- an occasion which could bring about some major announcements for the peripheral. Before that, though, the LA Times has published a hands-on report on the device that's worth checking out, as it reveals a pair of heretofore unannounced Natal applications.
The first is "Obstacle Course" (which was briefly hinted at in Parade's wildly flailing Natal preview), in which players will have to navigate a "summer camp"-esque row of hazards. As dangerous as that sounds, it's pretty tame compared to the other unveiled application: "Living Statue," which lets players record and send video messages using their Avatars. Which is great, because we were just talking about how awesome it would be to be bombarded with videos of our friends' Avatars doing pelvic thrusts and other suggestive maneuvers every time we turn on our Xbox 360.
We look forward to learning about these applications (and more) during Microsoft's Natal sneak preview this Sunday.

Excited about Crysis 2 but can't wait until the game arrives later this year? You could probably don a Nano Muscle Suit and spend the summer looking like a psychotic person -- or you could go over to the MyCrysis community page and sign up for an account, granting you a chance at early access to the beta. "What beta?" you say? Yep, turns out that Crytek is working on giving fans early access to its upcoming sequel.
Details are slim right now, with Crytek only saying that "early registrations" to the soon-to-be relaunched community site "will be tracked, and our first wave of users will have a chance to win a key as and when the Crysis 2 beta takes place." Presumably that's just PC users for now, but we've reached out to Crytek for clarification all the same. The relaunch has yet to take place, but is promised to be "coming soon" according to the game's Facebook page. And hey, that personal Nano Muscle Suit might come in handy for hitting refresh in your browser window really, really fast.

We’d begun to worry that this year’s E3 might not deliver the kind of big surprises we saw at the 2009 event – but Microsoft reckons it has something big up it sleeve.
In an email to registered members of Xbox.com, the platform holder states:
“E3 is the world’s largest gaming show and the place where we make the BIG announcements about what’s coming up on Xbox. With the massive Project Natal announcement at last year’s event, you’d think we’d find it hard to top that. Well, think again.
“This year at E3 we’ve got even BIGGER announcements to share with you.”
As to what that announcement could be? A redesigned Xbox 360 Slim remains a possibility, but beyond that it’s very hard to say. But that’s all part of the E3 fun, right?

TingedAce released a new version of XNand Healer GUI - an app that started off as an uncrippling tool but now morphed into a general purpose NAND dumping tool that should really aid the first part of the JTAG'ing process.
What's new/fixed:
* Big Block analysis and fixing now supported
* Now have the choice to fix NAND either from actual NAND or a virtual nand (image file)
* Added "CB" readout and exploitable indicator
* Added partial NAND analysis - can analyze images even if they don't start at block 0
* Added Absolute and Relative addressing in the Hex Viewer (to accompany partial NAND analysis)

v3n3 released the first public version of 360 Screenshot Tool:
[QUOTE]
"360 Screenshot Tool" was actually just a little app for myself and was never meant to hit the public.
After some other Screenshot-App releases and people moaning about using XYZ many apps just to extract Screenshots I decided to release my little app.
Now, after 2 releases I decided to recode the hole thing.
The old build used some static stuff on STFS ( BIG mistake ) and didnt work for many people.
Also including that the STFS class barely worked :-/
Since I received Supermodder911´s Xbox 360 Class I decided to recode all of my old Xbox 360 Apps.
This is the first Im gonna release.
Ive recoded everything so far.
Dont ask for Injection / Creating Screenshots.
I personally dont support Xbox LIVE modding ( excluding GS ), so that part of the app will never be released ;-)

It's not just Earthworm Jim 3D on Xbox Live Arcade today, it turns out - NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is also available.
Battle Coliseum is a tag-team beat-'em-up originally released for the European PS2 in 2006. The Xbox Live Arcade version costs 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / €9.60).
It brings together a range of characters from SNK franchises to smack each other about - so if you're a fan of King of Fighters, Art of Fighting, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury or even stuff like World Heroes and Metal Slug you'll probably recognise someone.
If you're interested you can grab it off the web-based Xbox Live Marketplace, and of course there's a trial version.

Namco Bandai has released its E3 trailer for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and it concludes by revealing that the game's due out in October on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Enslaved is being developed by UK-based Ninja Theory, last seen doing PS3-exclusive hackandslash Heavenly Sword.
But while there are visual similarities between the main characters of the two titles - Enslaved's Trip and Heavenly Sword's Nariko - the new game is about an uneasy alliance between Trip and muscular survivor Monkey.
The two find themselves in a gloriously florid post-apocalyptic world up against rampant war robots that were never instructed to shut down when humanity virtually wiped itself out.
Monkey's been slapped with a collar that will kill him if Trip expires, so the two have to join forces to make progress. Trip's trying to head home.
