Update: Commenter Troy points us to an interview on The 8th Circuit, which has a few details on Earthworm Jim HD's multiplayer. According to Gameloft's Anne-Joelle Casenaz, the XBLA and PSN versions will feature "brand new levels with exclusive enemies and up to 4 players in co-op multiplayer!" So there you go: It's co-op.
According to a list of Achievements unearthed by Xbox 360 Achievements, it looks like the upcoming Earthworm Jim HD will feature some form of multiplayer. There are two Achievements for multiplayer, one awarded for being "'No. 1' in each Xbox Live multiplayer level" and another for completing all multiplayer levels. It's hard to imagine how multiplayer would work, though GamerBytes offers up the possibility of speed run competitions or a multiplayer variant of the snot bungee mini-game.
We'd also suggest that the space races between levels could work as well. Also, given the title of the second Achievement is "World Partnership," the multiplayer could be cooperative in nature.

Zune Pass already felt like a pretty sweet deal for music buffs -- $15 per month for unlimited streaming and 10 DRM-free MP3s -- and now Microsoft might be lowering the subscription price even further. Or so says Senior Product Manager Terry Farrell, who added, "it's a very definitely a challenging business." No indication what that new price might be, but just this past April, RealNetwork dropped Rhapsody's monthly fee from $15 to $10. If it does come to fruition, the new price would surely be a welcome boon to an already-promising Windows Phone 7 launch -- and maybe even Kin. Maybe.

The last official release for the XBOX by the XBMC team was Atlantis, over 18 months ago. Since then, one brave soul (Arnova) has been merging code from the main codebase into the XBOX branch in our repository. Because there were many users out there that took advantage of these updates, we had no problem with this. But times have changed. The XBOX has hard limits for what it can handle. Some users are satisfied with these limits, and we encourage them to use XBMC there if they are happy. But it is a popular misconception that official XBOX development is still taking place by the team, so we have decided to set it free. We have enough on our plates already, and worrying about a deprecated platform just increases our workload. A few days ago the XBOX branch was finally removed from our subversion repository

New from Divineo USA
The CK3 Probe Add-on for the Xecuter Connectivity Kit 3 (Lite or Pro) is a tool that makes the process of extracting a key from a Lite-On drive totally solderless, without this tool the user would have to bridge the TX and RX points on the drive board with a soldering iron before they could use the CK3 to read from the drive. This tool is for those people that have never soldered before, but know how to flash and don’t want to risk using a cheap iron on their drive and make a mistake, or also for tech guys in a hurry this tool makes the process just that little bit faster.
The CK3 Probe is extremely simple to use and there are excellent step by step tutorials on the Team-Xecuter website. There are two LED's which indicate power to the CK3 Probe and also a successfull connection to the TX point on the Lite-On drive. The package includes the CK3 Probe and the cable that will connect it to the CK3 Lite or Pro

Reports say Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is a “Metroidvania” style adventure for Xbox Live Arcade that has six player co-op. Characters come from a variety of Castlevania games such as Symphony of the Night and the Nintendo DS games Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia.
That’s the rumor and it’s looking more likely since the OFLC just rated Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. While the rating doesn’t tell us anything about the game, it pegs the system — “X-box”. We’ll take that as Xbox 360 since Xbox games haven’t been made since Madden ‘09. The rating also says “gaming experience may change online” indicating some kind of online play.
Six player co-op, perhaps?

Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is definitely heading to Xbox Live Arcade.
An Xbox.com page confirms this, although there's little extra detail on offer.
The ESRB suggested earlier this month that an adaptation of the eight-year-old game was on the way.
Unfortunately, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project was a bit rubbish.

Following reports earlier this week that Microsoft has decided on the actual name that will adorn its Natal motion camera due out later this year, online rumours are claming to have ousted the final branding.
NowGamer reports that “a source close to Microsoft” has confirmed that ‘Wave’ is the name and will be revealed next month at E3.
Much like Sony’s Move, in many ways Wave hits upon the key factors needed in a brand of this sort – it infers motion, it’s friendly and it’s easy to remember.
However, remember that Google recently releasing its own social networking tool called Wave, perhaps reducing the believability of the report.
Nonetheless, MCV understands that a number of key partners in the industry have been informed of Natal’s final name, so while the name Wave cannot in any way be confirmed, there’s a very high chance of the real name leaking out before E3.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for misusing the 911 system after he decided to call because his neighbors had his video game controllers.
Around 9:30 p.m. May 15, after officers responded to the man’s initial call at an apartment complex on MacFarlan Avenue, they told him “not to use the emergency line again for this problem,” according to a Fort Walton Beach Police Department arrest report.
The neighbors then called 911 and said the man was screaming that he was going to blow everything up and was walking around with a stick, the report reads. An officer determined the man didn’t threaten anyone specifically and asked him to stay inside for the night. His Xbox controllers were returned to him.
Around 10:30 p.m., the man called 911 in regards to his Xbox controllers and President Barack Obama, saying he would only speak to a female or black officer, the report reads. The man was found walking up and down the parking lot yelling.
An elderly neighbor also had called police after she saw the man screaming, “The Bible, The Bible,” according to the report. He had approached her on her front porch that afternoon and “tried to touch her” and then approached her again that night while he was screaming. The woman became fearful.
Police concluded the man used 911 for a non-emergency situation after being warned, the report reads. He also “willingly, maliciously and repeatedly harassed his elderly neighbor in such a manner as to cause substantial emotional distress and serving no legitimate purpose.”
He was charged with misuse of 911 and stalking/harassment, both misdemeanors. He is due in court June 8.

MCV has been lead to believe that reports citing a $149 RRP (£103) for Microsoft’s Project Natal are accurate.
The number was reported on Edge Online this afternoon, which credtited the information to a ‘trusted source’. Edge also claims that natal will be bundled with the Xbox 360 Arcade for $299 (£207).
The numbers are far in excess of what MCV had been lead to believe late last year when we reported that the device would retail for around £50, suggesting that there has been a change of strategy at Microsoft.
In addition to all of this, CVG has it on good authority that Microsoft has now decided on the final branding for Natal, with a key retail partner having been already given the nod to get to work on POS for carrying the still secret name – which, incidentally, is set to be revealed at E3.

Here's a report from the Financial Times about Foxconn - one of the factories assembling the Xbox 360:
[QUOTE]
Terry Gou, founder and chairman of Hon Hai, the Taiwanese parent company of Foxconn, rushed to Shenzhen yesterday in an attempt to deal with the crisis from a continuing string of suicides among workers.
The move came after another employee at the plant died after falling off a building yesterday morning. Shenzhen police confirmed the death but said they were still investigating whether it was suicide. Nine people have died this year in the series of incidents among workers, while there have been two failed suicide attempts.
Labour activists in Hong Kong have threatened to start a campaign for a boycott of Apple's iPhone, one of the many electronic devices made by the 300,000 workers at the Shenzhen plant. Workers are paid the minimum wage and regularly work heavy overtime.
Female workers on one production line at the plant told the Financial Times during a factory visit last week that they earned Rmb1,800 to Rmb1,900 ($263-$278) a month, working 12 hours a day with a two-hour lunch break.

May 26th, 2010, 20:54 Posted By: wraggster
Microsoft's Project Natal has the potential to inspire four year's worth of innovation on the Xbox 360 system, according to outgoing president Robbie Bach.
He said that the motion sensing device breathes new life into the hardware mid-way through its lifecycle – something that he considers the "Holy Grail" as it can reinvigorate the 39 million hardware units already in homes around the world without asking consumers to pay out for a new console.
"There's a tremendous opportunity from a business perspective to produce a new experience for people without shipping a new console," Bach told Techflash.
"I mean, that's sort of the Holy Grail in many ways of the console world is how do you ship completely new game experiences without actually forcing everybody to start over again, and I think Natal certainly presents that opportunity."
"You know, now when I think about the broader impact, I think you're going to feel that over 12, 24, 36 months, because I think we'll do some great experiences out of the gate, and people will say, wow, that's really cool, and then the creative teams will really hit their stride, then the technology team will really hit its stride, and how it integrates with Live will get enhanced. Because it's software and services oriented, you've got three, four years of some really cool innovation that can happen."
"It's a midlife kicker for the 360, and it's an opportunity to really drive that business in a dramatic way," he added.
Bach announced yesterday that he's to retire from Microsoft after leading the Xbox 360 division, handing over control to Don Mattrick, who he praised for being able to balance business with the creative understanding needed to manage an entertainment product.
"He's a great combination of a guy who's a CEO-type guy who knows how to run a business, but yet who understands great creative sensibilities and understands how to work with creative talent. You don't see that kind of capability very often," said Bach.
Discussing the high cost of entry for Microsoft to enter the home console business, Bach acknowledged the company had lost a lot of money taking on Nintendo and Sony, but the long-term investment has paid off in the past three years.
"I lost exactly how much money I wanted to," he said.
"Here's the way I think about it. The company did make deep investments, there's no question about that. On the other hand, you're now seeing the fruits of that reward, so three years of continuing profitability with actually I think a lot of upside going forward, especially given what we're doing with Natal. Plus the asset value of what's been created, forget the ongoing earnings potential that's been created, but the asset value of what's been created more than makes up for the investment we made."
