“We wanted the Hellion experience to be as diverse as possible right from the start” Maciej Kowalski, producer at Flying Fish Works said. “Our main character – Godric of Glastonbury – is a young inquisitor and he can travel to many interesting and mysterious places on his missions. We wanted to give the players opportunity to visit faithfully recreated landmarks in Spain, Italy, Germany, England and even Egypt, and I think our level designers did a great job. From painstakingly detailed Cathedral in Laon, through caves in Harz Mountains, English Cistercian Abbey, Templar castles and beyond – Godric’s adventure will get us to places never before seen in a videogame. Hey there, Zune HD owners! You now have access to two more apps in the Zune Marketplace: Animalgrams, a word game, and MSN Money, a personal finance app. Basically /msn Money is a stock ticker app with a few extras added in. About two months ago we saw another two apps, so at the rate this is going, the Zune HD app catalog should hit 100 apps by 2017 or so. Hooray. More images after the break

In an interview with Edge Magazine, Tsunoda confirms that Indie games will be supported but, "Obviously we're just focusing on the launch games at the moment. But you're going to hear more - it's a big part of Xbox. Indie games a big part of the platform, and timelines will come later."
Microsoft's XNA development platform will obviously have to receive an update for Indie developers to be able to begin using Kinect. Currently, there is no word on when that update might happen.
Microsoft has also said that while the launch games for Kinect focus on "casual" gamers, "core" gamers should expect games that fit their style within 18 months of its launch on November 5th, 2010.

News via http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/...ZZCurOFUsv.php
It looks like Datel managed to make the first unlicensed wireless controller for the Xbox360 that doesn't require any USB-dongle and will just sync directly with the Xbox360 wireless system itself. Keep in mind the wireless technology MS uses for controllers isn't any industry standard like Bluetooth or so, but a proprietary Xbox360 technology - created so only MS and its official licensed partners (like Madcatz etc - who have to pay licensing fees) could sell wireless controllers. The Redmond team is probably not gonna like it, but Datel and MS are already strangled into several lawsuits (incl. one about Datel's Wildfire1 wired 360 controller), so let's see where this goes ...
From codejunkies.com:
[QUOTE]
The WildFire2 controller for Xbox 360 faithfully recreates all of the functionality of the original Xbox 360 controller, including vibration feedback and full analogue input.
In addition, the WildFire2 controller enhances your gaming with a programmable Turbo Rapid Fire function and new ergonomic design
Features:
* Direct Sync with Xbox 360
* No cord or dongles required
* Programmable Turbo Rapid Fire
* Integrated headset port for Xbox Live play
* Dual rumble motors
* Truly ergonomic shape fits perfectly in your hands
* Fully compatible with Xbox 360
* Blue glowing grips showing when Turbo Rapid Fire is enabled
* Compatibility Warranty
* Requires 2 x AA batteries (not included)

Bayonetta game director Yusuke Hashimoto has promised to share "new information" related to the acclaimed beat-'em-up this week.
Could this be a sequel?
"Good morning," tweeted Hashimoto, cheerily (via andriasang). "It looks like we'll be able to share new information related to Bayonetta this week. Look forward to it."
SEGA offered a flat "no comment" to Eurogamer when approached earlier.
Supporting the sequel argument are comments made by SEGA West boss Mike Hayes in March this year, who said the publisher could "sequel-ise" Bayonetta.
The andriasang report added that Hashimoto has apparently expressed interest in developing a spin-off game set in the Bayonetta world.
Bayonetta was released in October 2009 in Japan, and in January in the West. Eurogamer bloody loved it.

EA's work-in-progress boxing game Fight Night Champion will not support Move or Kinect motion controls, gameplay producer Brian Hayes has told Eurogamer.
Hayes said playing the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game with Sony and Microsoft's new motion sensing toys would be too tiring for "most gamers".
"It's a little bit too twitch-based, not to mention the fact that standing on your feet for three minutes and throwing punches is something that, believe it or not, might be beyond the fitness level of most gamers!" Hayes told Eurogamer.
"Even Microsoft hasn't said they're expecting to see games like Fight Night usable with the Kinect control system.
"The motion-based control systems, since they are very new and aren't on the market yet... Fight Night Champion has not been developed and is not currently being developed to utilise those.
Nevertheless, Hayes said exploring Move and Kinect in a future EA Sports boxing game is "on the table".
"Somewhere down the road, if a Fight Night game or an EA Sports boxing game was going to be using motion controls, you'd want to see a more tailored experience as opposed to a side-profile camera perspective that you're used to seeing in a Fight Night game.
"It's definitely something that's on the table in terms of exploration for us, but Fight Night Champion is not being developed for Move or for Microsoft Kinect."
Hayes went on to say that the likelihood of Move controls being patched in to Fight Night Champion was "slim". However, this could change should EA find Move controls "tremendously easy and not risky" to retroactively fit.
"It comes down to the fact that the games that are going to do best on those motion controls are designed from the ground-up to work with those systems," offered Hayes.
"That's certainly the approach I would want to take if we were going to explore something like that."
Fight Night Champion is due out next year on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Codemasters had let-out the first video for racing threequel Colin McRae's: DiRT 3.
The footage shows mud-track rally driving, tarmacked race-course racing and, eventually, a car drifting underneath a lorry that explodes.
What that tells us about this third game in Codemasters' rally driving series we're unsure.
DiRT 3's existence was confirmed by Codemasters in March. Publisher bigwig Gavin Cheshire told the world back then that DiRT 3 would be "fresh and new", and "if you don't innovate, you're dead".
No date has been annnounced for DiRT 3. No platforms have been mentioned either, although we expect PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 as with previous DiRT games.

Bungie has warned budding Halo: Reach quitters that it intends to punish them for their transgressions.
The developer has drummed up new ways to boot out those who leave games early so upcoming FPS Halo: Reach will be free from their horrible griefing ways.
"I think one of the new things people will be excited about too, is how we're going to be able to penalise people who are habitually quitting out of games, which isn't exactly cheating, but it creates a really negative experience for everybody else in the game," explained Bungie's community director Brian Jarrard to X360A.
"We actually have new tools now to detect that and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalised.
"We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can't make everyone else keep having a bad time."
Eurogamer spoke to Jarrard and campaign designer Niles Sanky recently and discovered all sorts of interesting gubbins about Bungie's final Halo game.

NaturalMotion Games have lifted the lid on Greathouse, the forthcoming update to their revolutionary, euphoria-powered football game, Backbreaker. The update introduces brand new features, gameplay enhancements and dozens of important tweaks, resulting in a greatly enriched Backbreaker experience.
“We are lucky to have such a passionate community who have supported us throughout the development of Backbreaker and continue to do so post-launch,” said Todd Gibbs, Head of Game Development, NaturalMotion Games. “Greathouse will give them what they have asked for, packed as it is with additions, changes, tweaks and requests taken directly from our online forums, reviews, as well as from individual players who spent time at our offices testing the latest features. I am extremely proud of what the team has managed to achieve in just a month.”
Major features in Greathouse include:
Brand new replay system with the addition of seven fully functional cameras, including free flight mode and a cinematic ‘ball-lock’ option.
More than 100 new plays added, including an additional nine formations.
Improved Quarterback camera view and passing game.
A user-catch system, giving the player a much greater level of control over the on-field action.
Interception control, the user is now given full control over interception attempts when controlling a defensive player.
Comprehensive review of the penalty rulings following an analysis of reported errors.
“We were stunned by the sheer volume of user videos that were posted on YouTube following the release of Backbreaker,” said Ant Lewis, Lead Designer, NaturalMotion Games. “It is obvious that the community loves the realism and live nature of the game and wants to share their unique moments. The new suite of cameras introduced with Greathouse will give them complete creative control over their footage and we are excited to see what appears as a result.”
The Greathouse update is currently progressing through final tuning and is scheduled for release in early August.
Backbreaker, developed by NaturalMotion Games and published worldwide by 505 Games, is the world’s first truly live sports title. Since two years, there is a lot of gossip in the independent game-scene about "Solar Struggle". It was in 2008, when the game appeared on different important game-conventions and business-events for the first time. "Solar Struggle" was meant to be a very promising title, but after some early prototypes, nothing was heard again about this ambitious shooter. Until today: Now the game developing team Z-Software from Dortmund/Germany has announced, that they purchased all the copyrights on the game and will now release it on Xbox360 - together with the publisher redspotgames from Munich.
The original 2D-spaceshooter-concept has been retained, but the game's graphics and the game-features have been changed a lot. Now with the first official trailer of "Solar Struggle" gamers get insight the gameplay and its challenging space-battles. The trailer will be today on the new published website of the game: www.solarstruggle.com.
"It's a game for hunters and collectors. Within eleven missions, you can achive 36 different awards and gain up to nine different types of spaceships", states Andreas Heldt, CEO of Z-Software. He doesn't want to reveal too much details about the gameplay right now, "but we will regularly release new information about the story, new screenshots and some more videos of the game on www.solarstruggle.com", Andreas Heldt promises. But at this point, there are assured facts, that there will be – apart from the normal story-mode of the game – an alternative skirmish-mode. Whereabouts the player has to defend his spaceships against incoming waves of enemies. If the player succeeds, he gets new spaceships with different weapons as a reward.
"Solar Struggle" is expected to be released in August on the indie-channel of the Xbox360 market-place. The game is fully synchronized in English.

Revealing how players will become immersed in the world’s most glamorous sport, the final F1 2010 developer diary, released today by Codemasters© showcases how the team’s mantra of ‘be the driver, live the life’ has been transformed into an innovative career mode that takes players closer to the sport than ever before. The video is now available to view at www.formula1-game.com and www.facebook.com/formula1game.
As any F1 fan knows, there is more to being a FORMULA ONE driver than being the fastest person on the track. To reflect this everything in F1 2010 is experienced from the driver’s perspective, from the paddock to post-race press conference and the team garage. Players will become immersed in the building excitement and drama of a race weekend as they interact with rival drivers, team members, fans and the press which all affect the way the gamer’s career plays out. Drivers can use the media to spur the team on or to criticise the lack of car development and even to pressure rivals in the hope they fold during the Championship run-in.
To deliver the authentic feel of a GRAND PRIXTM event, F1 2010 recreates the hustle and bustle of the garage and paddock, complete with motion captured pit crew, race engineers and pit girls. As a race weekend unfolds, the amount of attention the player receives intensifies according to their performance on the circuit. Expectations vary from team to team, and the driver is always under scrutiny from their teammates and the media as in real life.
In the video, former FORMULA ONE driver Anthony Davidson, Technical Consultant on F1 2010, explains the unique pressures that FORMULA ONE drivers must perform under, depending on team goals and the intense rivalries that develop on the circuit, as reflected in the game. “The expectations for the driver playing the game are the same as in real life given your machinery,” said Davidson. “At the end of the day, the teammate that you have is the only direct competition you’ll have through the whole season. There’s a strange balance of having to work together but also this desperate competition. Where it gets a little bit personal is events like qualifying and the race where you’re just out there to beat him, no matter what.”
FORMULA ONE fans can view the new developer diary at www.formula1-game.com and http://www.facebook.com/formula1game. F1 2010 is coming this September for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows®.

Bungie's previously teased achievements for Halo: Reach's have finally been revealed through its latest update. 49 achievements can be earned across the campaign, multiplayer and firefight. We've dropped them after the break.
If that weren't enough, there's a whole mess of new Bungie-created Forge maps on display. The update says they won't necessarily make it into multiplayer matchmaking, but if they pass "the same rigors our expertly crafted multiplayer spaces demandm" we could be sticky-grenading people's faces on those maps when the game ships this September. Ha-cha!

Halo creator Bungie has dismissed concern that new publisher Activision's current negative reputation will impact upon its next game.
The US developer reckons it doesn't matter which publisher brings its super secret game to market.
"No, it doesn't concern us at all," community director Brian Jarrard told Eurogamer in a new interview.
"We've spoken quite a bit about this. Certainly it's not great the situation that it [Activision] is in.
"I don't know any more about it than anybody else does. We're game developers. We have a great plan. We're excited about our future and our new universe that we're going to bring to life.
"We have an awesome deal with those guys. Ultimately, I don't think it's going to matter who helps that game into the hands of gamers, other than we're happy to know Activision's got world-class publishing expertise across multiple platforms and they're going to be a great partner that's given us a great relationship and a great deal.
"So we're not too worried about it."
In April Activision and Bungie announced a mammoth 10-year publishing deal for the developer's next IP.
Under the terms of the agreement, Bungie retains the rights to whatever it's cooking.
The deal followed the high-profile sacking of Call of Duty creators Vince Zampella and Jason West, which sparked an outpouring of anger from gamers who felt Activision had unfairly treated Infinity Ward.
Gamers focused their attention on Activision CEO Bobby Kotick, a man Brutal Legend creator Tim Schafer likes very much.
Halo: Reach campaign designer Niles Sankey echoed Jarrard's comments.
"When we do look to the future, the nice thing about working at Bungie I'd say is unique to any of the jobs I've had in the industry is, the publishers know they can trust us.
"They know if they trust Bungie we will deliver a great game experience. We won't fail at that. That's earned us a lot of freedom to do what we feel is right.
"In the end I'm not worried at all. I'm sure the future's bright. I'll leave it at that."
Halo: Reach, Bungie's last Halo game, will release on 14th September. Johnny Minkley went hands-on and spilled his thoughts.

Kinect Sports developer Rare has offered its best wishes to a long-running fan site that blamed the Microsoft-owned developer for its closure.
Rare said it was "very sorry" to hear of nine-year-old fan site MundoRare's decision to shut its virtual doors.
MundoRare announced its closure earlier this week after it claimed Rare knocked back a planned video documentary on the UK studio.
According to the site, Rare denied access because it reckoned the film would not be "on message".
"It simply makes no sense," said the site.
"It has changed our perception of Rare forever and leaves us with no other option but to end our support for them. Yet it wasn't the only cause."
While MundoRare remains puzzled by Rare's decision, it's easy to understand why Rare predicted the proposed documentary would not be "on message".
The fan site said its disappointment in Rare's Kinect game Kinect Sports, and indeed in most Rare games released after Microsoft's 2002 purchase of the studio, played a part in its decision to close.
"It is really hard to think that a blatant copy of a four-year-old Wii game is the best idea Rare could come up with when facing a device with so much potential as Kinect," said the site.
"Sadly, we see Kinect Sports not only as an uninspired response to Nintendo's success, but also as a major turnabout that collides with the interests of our website.
"As a game targeted to casual players, its audience doesn't include our readers or us. Naturally, if that's the path Rare wants to follow from now on, we can't go along with them."
Predictably, Rare refused to take issue with MundoRare's stinging criticism.
"Everyone at Rare was very sorry to hear that MundoRare would be closing," read a statement issued to Eurogamer.
"We've appreciated all their support and work over the years. We wish everyone involved with the site all the very best for the future."

It seems like a no-brainer, but at this point Microsoft has yet to confirm a separate 250GB HDD for its new Xbox 360 consoles -- and really, if you're picking up the 4GB model next month, that might come in handy. Newer press shots show a different side of the packaging, however, and if you get a high-res snapshot, you can see that it's touting the various accessories you can buy to enhance your new Xbox 360 4GB experience: wireless controllers, Kinect, and... a 250GB HDD. Now, it could very well be misleading advertising -- such a disc drive already exists, but you have to buy the current slimmed-down model or Halo Reach special edition bundle to get it. Somehow, though, we get the feeling this HDD is destined to be wrapped in separate packaging all by its lonesome -- Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg even insinuated as much not two weeks ago. Only question is, when and for how much?

The new Operation Flashpoint game will be called OF: Red River, CVG has discovered.
According to the online CV of a Codemasters artist, the title will be released in 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
No other details about the game are revealed, but it's almost certain to be a strategic FPS like predecessor Dragon Rising.
That title got a decent critical reception on its release back in October, 2009 - and won the admiration of PC Zone.
Dragon Rising was also a commercial success for Codemasters, reaching the Top Five of the UK All Formats chart.

Launching in less than seven weeks, Halo: Reach, is set to be the BIGGEST entertainment launch of 2010, and will be available exclusively on Xbox 360! The award-winning 'Halo' franchise is a global phenomenon, with Halo 3 making entertainment history in 2007 setting launch sales records that beat all previous video games and blockbuster movies.
Created by acclaimed developer Bungie, Halo: Reach is the latest installment to the most successful gaming franchise ever, and is set to launch on 14 September. More than 2.7 million players participated in the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta earlier this year, making it the most popular console video game beta test on record.
To celebrate the upcoming launch of Halo: Reach, football legend Rio Ferdinand and Gadget Show presenter, Jason Bradbury teamed up today to announce the launch of a major nationwide competition and the Halo: Reach Elite Spartan Squad at a press conference in London. The competition, launching next Wednesday 4th August, at www.xbox.com/lookingforaleader , gives Halo fans and gamers the chance to take part in a series of online mini Halo 3 tournaments in mid-August. Winners will then be selected to attend a mega-launch event taking place in London in mid-September. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a part of the most exciting live Halo battle in gaming history – all with the special Celebrity Elite Spartan Squad!
As well as Rio and Jason the Halo: Reach Elite Spartan Squad includes a star studded line-up, including: Gorgeous model and T4 presenter, Jameela Jamil; and England Rugby hunk, Ben Cohen. The 5th Spartan member will be revealed next week and the 6th Spartan member will be chosen via the competition and will be the Team Captain ensuring the Elite Spartan Squad is charged and ready to battle at the launch event!
More details about the competition and Elite Spartan Squad activity will be revealed on Wednesday 4th August at www.xbox.com/lookingforaleader.
