The HD DVD Promotional Group stepped up the battle of words today by claiming that more than half of all next-generation movie players sold use its format, giving the technology an edge over its Blu-Ray challenger. About 60 percent of all movie players use HD DVD, and are selling far more titles than before as well. Over 75,000 of the discs sold in the last week of May -- a record achievement for a still new format, the group says.
The spikes are primarily the result of recent price cuts for the entry-level HD-A2 and other players, according to the backers of the HD DVD standard. While reluctant to discuss sales before the surge, the group notes that sales doubled for all players when the HD-A2's price dropped to $399 in April; it doubled again with the late May promotion but has yet to slow down, the group reports.
No mention was made of whether or not the sales figures included Sony's PlayStation 3, which is considered a game console but can perform many of the same tasks as a dedicated movie player, eliminating the need in some cases for separate hardware. The HD DVD promoters also did not mention whether the statistic included the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player attachment.

One of the more popular games that managed to make a name for itself during the flood of street-racing, tuner simulators, was Juiced. Even though the game suffered from disappointing racing mechanics, it sold like crazy, nonetheless. So now Juiced 2 is on the horizon and there’s a new trailer that exhibits some fine gameplay.
Though some hardcore simulation fans might say that Juiced is second-rate in comparison to Forza, you at least have to give them props for making the game arcade-friendly. The only downside is that the game still shows limited damage effects and that’s kind of a bummer. Nevertheless, you can’t knock the fact that there’s tons of tuner options for the automobile inclined.
The trailer will show car aficionados a small sampling of what kind of car mods will be available, along with some decent racing action. One thing of particular note is the drifting challenge – the cars dynamically drift in a really cool way. For non-racing fans this probably won’t look like much, but fans of the original Juiced will definitely have something to look forward to when Juiced 2 is released for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

There’s a minion horde ready to come tearing down your download pipe as Codemasters announces the release of the Overlord playable demo. The demo is now available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft; the PC demo will follow shortly.
In the demo, players don the Overlord’s illustrious armour, assemble a team of fighter minions and head off for a session of serious destruction in the once tranquil area of The Mellow Hills. As you descend upon the unsuspecting populace and wildlife that reside in the hills, use your loyal minions to gather life-force from the somewhat unwilling sheep, grow the size of your minion horde, and let the Halflings-gone-bad know there’s a new boss in town.
Top that off with minion upgrades (where else do pumpkins get used as minion helmets?), throw in some peasant intimidation and a show-down with the Guard Troll at the Slave Camp and you’ll have just as taste of the havoc that a minion horde can wreak.
In the full game, players will be able to amass armies of up to 50 minions and select from three further minion types to lead into battle. Then there’s the rest of the twisted domains to explore (and conquer), seven corrupt heroes to defeat, the Dark Tower to rebuild, and the Legion of Terror and other spells to unleash as you strive to be proclaimed the mighty Overlord!
Get ready to explore your more despotic side with Overlord, coming June 29th for Xbox 360 and PC. Meanwhile, perfect your evil laugh with the playable demo, now available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace with the PC demo following early next week at http://www.codemasters.com/overlord

Activision has done a smoking job of ensuring that gamers get a lot of inside looks and constant peeks at the upcoming Transformers game. Whether or not the game will live up to the same kind of expectations movie goers and gamers will have for both mediums is a whole other topic. But you can at least take some refuge in the fact that the game looks darn good.
The gameplay contains a mixture of beat-e’m-up elements and, of course, the ability to utilize various Transformers’ vehicular traits. So far everything looks really cool – the way the game is coming together both visually and conceptually – even the effects have transmuted from the big screen, to the interactive video screen with similar appeal. Here’s hoping none of that gets cut down into shreds due to brain disrupting gameplay features.
But given the current aim of the project, I doubt this game will turn out like the less-than-sub-par Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man 3 or Shrek The Third. Then again, I’m sure someone said the same thing about Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death. Anyway, you can gather up more info at the Official Transformers The Game Website, and you can enjoy the trailer below.

With so many fans dedicated to their type of games system with the most popular being the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. We thought we should compare a basic summery of the new powerhouse Sony Playstation 3 and the latest Xbox 360 upgrade (as it was out a while ago).
Xbox 360 Elite
The upgrade of the popular next-gen video game console has a 120GB hard drive (much bigger than before) and HDMI output which again is missed on the first release of the 360.
The Xbox 360 Elite has an excellent selection of Top-notch games and a couple of but very important improvements over the first model, what I do not like is the Noisy DVD drive and cooling fan on the 360, no built in HD DVD drive, no built-in wireless networking and the massive power supply.
Sony PS3
This next-generation games console from Sony has great media features particularly an integrated Blu-ray player, quiet operation, no external power supply, online play is free, (UPDATE: media streaming from PCs and remote Internet access via a PSP thanks to firmware update), Wi-Fi and it may be more expensive but taking into account all the extra features it has that you have to buy separate on the Xbox 360 it then works out about the same cost.
What I do not like about the Sony PS3 is the lack of good games at the start of this consoles life, the HDMI cable is not included; no force feedback support in the controller and the Sony PS3 doesn’t upscale DVDs to hi-def resolution (UPDATE: feature was introduced in a recent firmware update).
Both Consoles Summery:
The Sony PlayStation 3 may be the most expensive, but because of its cool design and amount of features this console is perfect for people that want less clutter and more in the package from start.
The PS3 might not have all the greatest selection of games now, but give it another year and things will be very different.
The Xbox 360 Elite is not a must have upgrade for Xbox 360 current owners and its not got as many features as the PS3, but currently the 360 has the top-notch gaming and digital media features to make it the better choice out of the two next-gen consoles…but give the Sony PS3 some time and things could change a lot.

PRESS RELEASE: 8th June 2007 – At long last it’s time for Xbox 360™ owners to feel the benefits of tilt sensation, something of which PS3™ owners have been privileged to since its inception. Moreover, the Nintendo Wii™ is a prime example of just how instrumental interactive controllers can be in providing a highly enjoyable gaming experience.
Talismoon is delighted to the release the second generation of its tiltBoard controller, featuring a high quality design sporting powerful features which are easier to use than even PS3’s SIXAXIS™ controller.
Talismoon’s tiltBoard sports a unique u-shaped board that puts the two tiltBoard control buttons within easy reach of gamers fingers. This gives gamers the ability to make on the fly tilt adjustments in-game, as needed.
The Tiltboard comes pre-loaded with tilTune ™ technology, which is the most user friendly firmware available for such a device. Gamers have the ability to perform the following functions, in game:
1. Adjust the tilt sensitivity: useful for getting accustomed to tilt control.
2. Adjust the 0 degree point: to allow holding the controller at the most comfortable angle
3. Invert the Y axis: to add realism to flying games
4. Turn the tilt function on and off
Everything required to enjoy the latest sensation in console gaming on Xbox 360™ comes in a convenient package and requires only seven wires to solder.
This product is currently schedule to ship during the second half of June 2007. Estimated price is $34.99. For more information on this or any of Talismoon’s other innovative products, all members of the gaming media and retail buyers are welcome to contact press@talismoon.com.
What is the Tiltboard? Here is an explanation:
The Talismoon tiltBoard 360 has a unique PCB that allows itself to be mounted on the inside of an Xbox 360 Controller. It has two buttons, both of which are easily accessible on the outside of the controller (without removing any batteries). One button is dedicated to the tiltTune technology and the other button switches between the analog stick or tilt for input to the controller and allows the user to invert the y-axis of either. A normal press of the button will flip between the analog stick and the tilt for input. A long press (greater than one second) will invert the y-axis of whatever is currently active (either the analog stick or the tilt input). Another long press will return it to it’s original state.
The tiltBoard 360 boasts several new features including tiltTune technology. The tiltTune technology found on the tiltBoard 360 allows you to adjust the sensitivty and the center point of the tiltBoard. To set the sensitivity, simply tilt your Xbox 360 controller with the tiltBoard 360 installed as far left or right as you want to go and as far up or down as you want to go. Then simply press the tiltTune button to set those current angles (both axes) as your maximum tilt. To re-center the tiltBoard 360, simply hold the controller how you feel comfortable and press the tiltTune button for one second. Your new center point is now whatever position you are currently holding your controller in.
Once you get the settings how you like with the tiltTune technology, you don’t have to worry about needing to change them again when you turn off your controller or change batteries. The tiltBoard 360 stores all of your current preferences into memory that is non- volatile, so every time you turn on your Xbox 360 controller, it will be in the same state it was when you turned it off. To restore the tiltBoard 360 to factory settings, simply hit both buttons at once.
We here at DCEmu Reviews will try to bring you a comparision of the tiltBoard and BestTilt by Team Xtender.

There's similar designs, and then there's Amigo's Wireless Router. The R622AG looks exactly like Microsoft's Xbox 360 no matter how you look at it. However, if you're really a fan of the design, then the fact that Aimgo's shoved in 802.11 a/b/g, four Ethernet ports and two USB ports for external hard drives/webcams/printers won't bother you one bit.
Plus, there's even music streaming to USB speakers, and Samba/FTP for file access of your attached USB drives. If they can manage to put this out for under $50 and add 802.11n support, we're sold.

Square Enix has clarified that recent comments made by Shinji Hashimoto regarding Final Fantasy on Xbox 360 were referring to the company's current plans.
Japan's Nikkei BP quoted the executive producer as saying, "As for Final Fantasy on the Xbox 360, it's currently a completely blank page." Some reports interpreted this to mean that the series will never again appear on Microsoft's next-gen console.
However, a spokesperson for Square Enix told GamesIndustry.biz, "Hashimoto-san was talking about the current situation" - which would suggest his comments shouldn't be interpreted as forward-looking.
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said he expects the next Final Fantasy to appear on PlayStation 3 exclusively - but observed that Square Enix will face a tough decision.
"The series has always been single console and given the Xbox 360 sell through in Japan, it would be hard to put the next Final Fantasy instalment on the 360 only," he told GI.biz.
"Square Enix faces a dilemma: put the next game on the 360 only and alienate Japanese fans, depart with tradition and make it multi-platform, or go with PS3 as an exclusive and deal with the backlash from the west.
"I view Square Enix as a tradition-bound company, and expect the last alternative to be chosen," Pachter concluded.
Square Enix recently announced that RPG The Last Remnant is currently in development for both PS3 and Xbox 360, and will launch simultaneously in the US and Japan.

As Microsoft reveals intentions to target families with new titles and a renewed marketing push, group product manager David Hufford has said he's well aware that USD 199 is the ideal price for the family audience.
Although the company has avoided a significant price reduction of the Xbox 360 since release in late 2005, analysts and industry watchers expect a cut in time for the Christmas period.
"We are well aware that the sweet spot of the market is really 199 bucks," said Hufford, speaking to Bloomberg.
Observing Nintendo's lower price point for the Wii, he stated: "When Mom walks into the store and sees she can get a console with a game for USD 250, she sees it as a USD 300 value. They've done a good job."
It's not only price where Microsoft intends to follow its rival's lead. Targeting the family group with new titles and a renewed marketing push is another priority, as it hopes to shake off the 'hardcore' tag that held back sales of the original Xbox.
"If we don't make that move, make it early and expand our demographic, we will wind up in the same place as with Xbox 1, a solid business with 25 million people," commented Xbox boss Peter Moore.
"What I need is a solid business with 90 million people."
According to Institutional Investor's analyst Heather Bellini, Microsoft could lower the price of the Xbox 360 as soon as September. She also believes that power in numbers could key to Microsoft's seasonal success.
"If they really are going to have a good Christmas games line-up, then they just have to have the largest number of boxes out there so that they sell the largest number of games."

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Pro Evo 2007 in states) online via Xbox Live has recently been diabolical. A recent update to the game causes players to disconnect from matches at random times, resulting in both a defeat on your record plus a higher disconnection rate. What would happen is you would be disconnected and a message would appear saying "your connection to Xbox Live has been severed". A quick search on google shows that this is a worldwide problem, and gamers, especially on Konami's official boards, are furious.
However, today I decided to play some Pro Evo 6 on PS2, as Im pretty tired myself of the horrible Live service. Surprisingly, Konami have issued an apology to Xbox 360 users... via their PS2 Pro Evo Servers. The message read something like "Konami realise that xbox 360 owners are experiencing disconnections and we are working to fix the problem. We apologise for the recent inconvenience".
Strange that Konami would issue such a statement on their PS2 Servers. Obviously Microsoft run their own servers for most live games (including Pro Evo 6) and therefore Konami might not have as much free control, but how hard would it be for them to send Xbox Live users this statement via a simple update or even a text message?
Weird.

Get those ghosts! Pac-Man, the 1980s arcade game sensation, now can be played on Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 home console. Blinky, Clyde and other Pac-Man hallmarks are there, but this is an updated version - made by Pac-Man's original creator, Toru Iwatani.
Iwatani designed the revamped "Championship Edition," which was unveiled at the Pac-Man World Championship in New York on Tuesday. Iwatani, who is now a video game professor at Tokyo Polytechnic University, also crowned the winner of the Microsoft-sponsored competition, Carlos Daniel Borrego from Pachuca, Mexico.
The Pac-Man makeover includes mazes that change shape as the game is played, new soundtracks and high-definition graphics, though the game retains the kitschy, arcade-inspired look. There are six new timed game modes, including the "Manhattan" mode, inspired by New York streets.
It appears the new Pac-Man marked Iwatani's last hurrah in the video game business.
"It gives me great joy to know that my final contributions in my corporate career were to crown the Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Champion and to leave the world with an amazing new 'Pac-Man' game for generations to enjoy," the game maker said in a statement.
Nostalgia-seekers can buy and download the game from the Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft points, or about $10. Enthusiasts partial to Pac-Man's red-bowed, lipsticked girlfriend will have to settle for a more traditional-looking version of the Ms. Pac-Man game, released to the Xbox Live Arcade in January.

The official Shadowrun forums declare that a demo will be released, er, half an hour ago on Xbox Live Marketplace. So, 2am PDT.
There's no sign of it yet according to Internet hero Kristan Reed, and apparently there's no immediate plan for a Windows Vista version ("We haven't announced [it]").
But we do know what's going in the Xbox 360 one: the first three training chapters, bot and online multiplay, the Power Station level, Elf and Human races, four types of magic, three types of tech, and six weapons including the katana.
Specific details are all on the forum.
Shadowrun - released last Friday - is an online multiplayer game derived from the pen-and-paper RPG series of the same name. One of its headline features is the facility for PC and Xbox 360 owners to play against one another on the same servers.

Tomb Raider Anniversary has been met with good press for it's release on PS2 and PC. However, it's non release on the Xbox 360, which saw Tomb Raider: Legend was puzzling for quite a few gamers.
With the Xbox 360 controller working on the PC enabled game, we hoped that Tomb Raider Anniversary might see the light of day on the Xbox 360 console, and late last night, a listing on the ESRB site gave us some hope.
Well, several listings we should state. If one was to type in Tomb Raider Anniversary into the search bar, you would find the regular result of Tomb Raider Anniversary rated T for Teen and available for the PC and Playstation 2 platforms.
But it also returns back 5 more results, all of which are for the Xbox 360. Tomb Raider: Anniversary Peru, Tomb Raider: Anniversary Lost City, Tomb Raider: Anniversary Greece, Tomb Raider: Anniversary Egypt and Tomb Raider: Anniversary Croft Manor.
Our theory behind the extra listings is that Tomb Raider Anniversary will see release on the Xbox 360 as a downloadable episodic title. Eidos would not respond to our questions at time of press.

Source Code of the new Xbox emulator for PC, Xenoborg, was released.
This is what blueshogun96, the author, said:
Hey guys. Alot of people have been bugging and nagging me about how my Xbox emulator is doing lately, so I thought I'd post some progress. Well, it's been over a year since I've started this project (May 27, 2006 exactly) and I haven't had alot of time to work on this either, but I've managed to get some results out of all that hard work. I'm posting the binary and source code below. The source code is released under the GNU general public license. You can do just about whatever you want with it. It uses LLE instead of HLE and uses OpenGL instead of Direct3D.
There's alot of stuff to be done in this source code. Optimizations, and corrections, etc. Also note that alot of the NV2A GPU emulation code may be innaccurate or just plain wrong (like everything else)! Be warned the CPU core isn't completed either. The x86 instruction set is very MASSIVE and will take a while to complete. And no, it does not play Halo 1/2 and the BIOS emulation isn't started yet. Anyway, give it a look and let me know what you think about all this. I have over 50 MB worth of documentation I've used, but I'll post that when I get back from work

Thats right Condemned Fans! IGN interviewed Monolith about Condemned: Bloodshot, heres what they asked:
IGN: Will Greg Grunberg be reprising his role as Ethan or is Heroes such a huge show now that Officer Parkman is unavailable for comment?
IGN: Dave Hasle, Producer: Actually Greg Grunberg was interested in working with us on Condemned 2: Bloodshot. We were very happy with the voice-work he performed for us and it's kind of cool to say we "knew him when." We've taken a darker turn with Ethan and wanted to find a voice that better represented that "edgy darkness."
That really sucks, Greg made Condemned a more enjoyable experince, I hope they are joking and he is indeed casted.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is the follow up to 2005's creepy FPS game with a mix of forensics, Condemned: Criminal Origins. Monolith Productions, the developer behind the game, and SEGA released additional character and environment artwork. See the artwork below.
"The original, Condemned, was a game which truly shocked and scared its players with its subtle details, gripping story and eerie tension throughout,” said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe. “Condemned 2: Bloodshot takes these three key elements to heightened new levels, providing a superb mature gaming experience that will constantly surprise its players and keep them gripped from start to finish.”
New to this release of Condemned is online multiplayer deathmatch. Condemned 2: Bloodshot will be released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, which is currently estimated for a first quarter 2008 release.
