Koei has stamped a fresh release date of September on the Xbox 360 version of Fatal Inertia.
But the poor old used-to-be-exclusive PS3 copy is still lagging behind, and a spokesperson for Koei was coy when it came to suggesting a date. It's all down to that Unreal Engine 3, you see, which is apparently less fiddly when used with Microsoft's console.
The spokesperson also told us a Live demo is planned for sometime before launch, although the exact timing is yet to be confirmed.
Fatal Inertia is a futuristic racer that's not too dissimilar to WipEout; you drive a fast spaceship-car around canyons at ridiculous speeds and use bizarre weaponry to slow the progress of your chums.
It's been on the cards for a while, and we're keen to get our twiddly thumbs on a fresh playable version soon.

SouthPeak has blown its fantasy trumpet this morning to announce a collector's edition of Two Worlds.
Each version will come in fancy holographic packaging, include a map of the world you can take to work and tack up on the wall [incorrect - Ed], plus you'll get a bonus disc with extra content and a whopping 72-page colour fantasy book. Fantasy that.
PC owners will also be treated to exclusive in-game items, while Xbox 360 adventurers can relish a 48-hour Live Gold Trial card.
Both will be available across America on 7th August at USD 69.99 and 59.99 for Xbox 360 and PC respectively. We're waiting to hear back on the exact European details, although 10th August costing GBP 49.99 and 39.99 wouldn't be out of the question, if you ask us.
Two Worlds is a free-roaming and sprawling role-playing game from developer Reality Pump. And although it bears a striking resemblance to Bethesda's Oblivion, there's a few key differences. The most drastic of these is a persistent-world-style multiplayer offering that promises to keep the adventures fresh and challenging for days to come.

New region free game from Play Asia
description
Overlord is a groundbreaking, completely original action adventure, set in a seriously warped fantasy world. Controlling a mysterious figure that has inherited the legacy of the evil, long-dead Overlord, the player emerges, near death, from the ruins of the old Overlord’s Dark Tower. Only the player’s actions will determine if they will rise to become the new all-powerful Overlord; it’s all down to how much of a bad ass they want to be in order to succeed...evil or really evil! Played out with plenty of black humor and dark irony, the game will immerse players in twisted parodies of classic fantasy scenarios and characters.

The Hironobu Sakaguchi-produced Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon will go on sale in Europe on 24th August, publisher Microsoft said today.
The game - the first of a pair overseen by Final Fantasy veteran Sakaguchi, and in this case developed by Blinx scribes Artoon - puts players into the role of Shu, a young boy on a quest to rid the world of evil forces. It also boasts music from Nobuo Uematsu and character design from Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball Z fame.
You can catch up with it in more detail in our Blue Dragon first impressions, published yesterday, where Rob Fahey claimed it was a "pitch perfect" exercise in nostalgia.
Whether that will be enough is something you'll get to assess as we draw in on release and you can scamper all over our review. Alternatively, if you've made your mind up already, you can also do as Microsoft suggests and download a Fan Site Kit. How peculiar.

Codemasters has revealed that the recently released Colin McRae: DIRT sold 500,000 copies worldwide in its first week of release.
The title has also racked up over 500,000 downloads of the PC and Xbox 360 demo
"This success with DIRT is a text-book case of our product development, marketing and distribution efforts all working together to ignite consumer interest and drive sales," said Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters.
"Nearly half of our first week's sales are from the US alone, which means momentum behind this series is taking hold in new territories."
The game entered the UK all-formats charts at number four on it's first weekend of sales, and is currently sandwiched between fellow racers Flat Out: Ultimate Carnage and number one seller Forza Motorsport 2 in the Xbox 360 charts.

UK-based repairs specialist Micromart has told GamesIndustry.biz that it has had to refuse to service Xbox 360 consoles that display three red lights, dubbed the Red Ring of Death.
Before it put a stop to the repair service, Micromart says it was seeing around 30 consoles a week over a period of several months.
"We were seeing about 30 a week before we pulled the plug on the service," said Jeff Croft of Micromart.
"We saw it over a period of several months and it was just getting worse. It began towards the end of last year. Once the twelve month warranty finished then we started to see more and more machines being sent in to be looked at.
"The problem with three red lights was there fairly regularly, but over two or three months it became a real issue," he detailed.
Micromart acts for individual retailers who send customer's goods to the specialist. Croft says his company pulled the service after discovering problems with the motherboard, and that that repairing the console wasn't financially feasible. Even after working on a number of machines, the company didn't feel comfortable with the end result.
"The work we had done to the console lead us to believe that basically it was a fault with the motherboard and not something that could be resolved easily. And it wasn't going to go away.
"Rather than lead customers up the garden path we'd walk away from it and tell them to go directly to Microsoft because they have the facility to replace the motherboard. If Microsoft has updated the motherboard for the new consoles that its producing then presumably they've improved the existing model."
Croft said the company had written to Microsoft to inform it of the problems encountered but had received no reply.

SEGA has announced that Universe at War: Earth Assault, currently in development for PC and Xbox 360, will feature cross-platform multiplayer thanks to Microsoft's LIVE service.
The PC game, due out this holiday season, will support Games for Windows LIVE and is said to be the first third-party title that will offer multiplayer between Games for Windows players and Xbox 360 gamers.
PC gamers won't be able to battle with Xbox 360 gamers from the get go though, with the console version scheduled to arrive several months later than the PC game.
"Cross-platform play between PC and consoles has been a dream of gamers for many years," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "Now that dream has become reality. We are very excited that Universe at War: Earth Assault is at the fore front of supporting Microsoft's Games for Windows - Live initiative, bridging the PC and Xbox 360 gap."
Universe at War is likely to be the first of many titles offering cross-platform multiplayer, following Microsoft's rollout of Games for Windows LIVE.

Submitting the details doesn't guarantee you'll get in on the action, but those selected will be sent all the information required to burn up the tarmac against the man.

Peripheral manufacturer, XCM, has made the surprising claim that a new cable that it has in the works will get an average-joe 360 pumping out a HDMI signal.
HDMI is the highest quality of digital video, used by all PS3s and one of the major new features of the new Xbox 360 Elite.
According to Maxconsole: "The cable itself is nearly finished and will be completed in approximately four weeks and promises to allow 1080p output on a regular white original Xbox 360."
It was previously assumed that normal 360s weren't at all capable of HDMI, but if XCM pulls it off, it'll be joyous for owners of the white box, and a kick in teeth for those that handed over major moolah for the upgraded Elite. Soz.
Although we admit to not having super-geeky knowledge of how different video signals are encoded, we would like to throw on point out there: surely, if the 360 is still kicking out an analogue component signal which is being converted to a digital HDMI signal on it's way to the TV by the cable, the resulting picture quality will remain the same as the component original, right? We dunno. Are there any MASSIVE geeks in the building?

The second Grand Theft Auto IV trailer will be available in high definition through Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow at 6pm BST (5pm GMT), Microsoft and Rockstar said this afternoon.
You'll also be able to download an exclusive GTA IV theme and gamerpics, if you're into that sort of thing. Quite why you'd replace the Battlestar Galactica one is beyond us, but then maybe you don't like Tricia Helfer? Is that it? You disgust me.
Anyway, those of you without Xbox 360s will be able to catch it (the trailer - not Tricia Helfer) on the game's official website at the same time.
It's called "Looking for that Special Someone" (we recommend Google Image Search). The first trailer, "Things will be different", can be found on Eurogamer TV.
The news follows the publication yesterday of photographs of the GTA IV Special Edition, showing off the safety deposit box, keychain, soundtrack CD and duffel bag you'll receive if you throw down the USD 89.99 Rockstar's charging. The lawyers clearly don't come cheap.
The game itself, as you doubtless already have tattooed to your arm (hi Pete), is due out on 17th October in the US and 19th October in Europe.
So then. Until 6pm tomorrow

Ah, Rockstar, how you like to tease. With the arrival of the new GTA IV trailer threatening to bring the internet to a standstill when it goes live in two days, Rockstar is building excitement by answering the prayers of fan boys across the world and releasing new assets for the game. Well, one new asset, and it's not even a proper screenshot. Still, we're happy to get any kind of scraps when it comes to GTA and the new piece of art shows Niko behind the wheel of a car that has been pulled over by the cop. The beardy rozzer is flashing his badge through the window, much to Niko's disgust, and… well, that's about it.
We could waffle on for ages about how the cop could be crooked and that he might be working with Niko. Or we could theorise that the artwork indicates an all-new breed of supercop, one that will bust our Eastern European buddy if he breaks the speed limit by a couple of miles-per-hour. But, frankly, that would be pointless and a waste of your time. Instead, check out the artwork and make sure you're back here on Thursday, when we'll be showing off the new trailer and providing you with some proper insight into the game.
Screenshots of GTA IV are here
