A future Xbox One update will introduce the ability to take and share screenshots on social networks.
Asked about plans to introduce such a feature, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said on Twitter: "Yea, this is [on] the list for the monthly updates, team is making great progress on the updates. More features to come."
Xbox One's feature set has been growing regularly since the console's release in November 2013. June's Xbox One system update will be headlined by the introduction of external storage support.
Users will also be able to share their real names with people on their friends list and select an account for automatic sign-in.
Microsoft has made a number of significant announcements over the past few weeks, most notably regarding plans to release an Xbox One without Kinect for the first time.
The company also said earlier this month that Games with Gold willlaunch on Xbox One in June with Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault.
Titled 'Game On', Microsoft's E3 2014 media briefing will begin on June 9 at 9:30am PT / 12:30am ET / 5:30pm BST.

The early technical struggles of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs appear to have created a domino effect that is causing trouble on all major gaming networks.
An Xbox Live status alert has been issues regarding social and online gaming functions on Xbox One and Xbox 360, and the blame is being placed firmly at the feet of uPlay.
“Hi Xbox members, are you having trouble using the Uplay feature on games like Watch Dogs, Trials Fusion, Child of Light, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag?” it reads.
“We are working with our partner to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience. We'll update you on our progress as soon as we have more information.”
There are also reports on forums of troubles with the title on PS4 and PS3, too, as well as Ubisoft’s games on iOS.
All of which comes after the PC version of the game experienced terrible trouble in its first 24 hours. Along with reports of save files being lost due to the inability to log into servers, many have been left being simply unable to download the game they have paid for.
And you can add to that a raft of complaints about the PC game itself, ranging from stuttering and flickering to physics glitches and poor performance on high-end machines.
The long and short of it is that as long as triple-A titles such as Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 impose DRM requirements on users that actively damage their user experience, pressure will continue to build on high RRPs and increasing numbers will turn to pirating games – which of course are free of such restrictions.

The penultimate Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC pack, officially dubbed "Invasion," will first appear on June 3. Though initially exclusive to the Xbox One and Xbox 360, other platforms will receive the DLC shortly after.
Included in the Invasion DLC pack are four new multiplayer maps, ranging from an abandoned archaeological dig in Egypt to a Dia de los Muertos celebration in a sleepy Mexican town. Additionally, Invasion also includes the third episode of the ongoing Extinction storyline, which pits the near future's most marketable soldiers against waves of ravenous extraterrestrials. In this latest episode, your team of hardened alien killers will descend into the subterranean fortress of those controlling the alien hordes, both to blast them to pieces and to set up the final showdown inevitably included in the fourth Extinction entry.
As with prior DLC packs, the Invasion DLC features a $15 price tag. Those who have purchased the Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass will receive the additional content at no extra charge.

The Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Halo Mash-up Pack is scheduled to arrive today via the Xbox Games Store, Microsoft has announced.
A post on Xbox Wire details the new $3.99 DLC, which packs a Halo-themed texture set, UI options, and Halo items for crafting.
The content drop brings 40 Halo character skins as well, such as Master Chief, Arbiter, Cortana and Sergeant Johnson. There's also a series of pre-made Halo levels including like Blackout, Blood Gulch, Guardian and other fan favorites.
Minecraft console studio 4J developed the pack, so it's likely the content will make its way to the Xbox One version at some point after its launch this August – though Mojang previously stated that many texture packs and skins won't work on PS4 and Xbox One versions due to licensing deals.

A Blinkbox app has been released today on Xbox One in the UK.
Owned by Tesco, Blinkbox is an online video-on-demand rental and purchase service.
The Xbox 360 version of the Blinkbox appBlinkbox apps already exist on Xbox 360, PS3 and mobile devices, but today's release marks the service's first presence on new-gen consoles.
According to the company, an app is also in development for Google's Chromecast device. However, no plans were announced for a PS4 version.
"We've been on the Xbox 360 for a while," Blinkbox managing director Adrian Letts said in a statement, "and together with PlayStation we've seen games consoles overtake computers as popular devices for enjoying our service."
Unlike Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video, which both offer monthly subscriptions for unlimited streaming, Blinkbox charges for each movie or TV episode viewed.
Customers can either pay a smaller fee to rent a video, or pay more to own it in either SD or HD quality.
Because this structure means more money goes to the film studio, the service is able to secure more up-to-date films. 12 Years a Slave, The Wolf Of Wall Street and Inside Llewyn Davis were recently added to the film library, while new TV series include Hannibal, Girls and Game Of Thrones.

Satya Nadella, the boss of Microsoft, has countered the suggestion from investors and analysts that its Xbox division should be sold.At the Code Conference (reported on by The Verge), Nadella was asked, directly, whether he will spin off Xbox. His answer: "I have no intent to do anything different on Xbox than we are doing today."His comments follow those made by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who earlier this month said in an interview that he would "absolutely" support Nadella if he wanted to spin off Xbox.Gates was asked: "Would you support him he wanted to spin off Xbox?"His response: "Absolutely."But Gates said spinning off Xbox wouldn't be "obvious" because of Microsoft's unified gaming strategy."We're taking PC gaming and Xbox gaming and bringing those a lot closer together," he said. "The power of the graphics chips means you can do great games there."So I'm sure Satya and the team will look at that. It's up to them. We're going to have an overall gaming strategy so it's not as obvious as you might think."Gates' comment was taken as an indication that he felt Microsoft should spin off Xbox, and sparked the company into issuing a comment of its own.Communications chief Frank Shaw told Eurogamer Gates' comments "were reflective of his support of Satya as CEO", and reiterated its support for Xbox."As Mr. Gates noted, Microsoft is committed to gaming across multiple platforms with Xbox as the centerpiece of our gaming strategy," Shaw added. "We remain committed to Xbox and the millions of Xbox fans around the world."Microsoft has faced questions over a potential Xbox spin-off ever since Nokia chief Stephen Elop was reported to have considered selling the division if he took over the company. But after Nadella got the top job the gaming business was reorganised so Xbox, Xbox Live and creative teams, which include Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Microsoft Studios, were unified under the control of Phil Spencer.Xbox One launched in November 2013 and while it is selling at a faster rate than its predecessor, the Xbox 360, sales are lagging behind Sony's PlayStation 4.Earlier this month Microsoft announced plans to sell Xbox One without Kinect for £349 - the same price as a PS4.Microsoft is expected to push hard at the E3 trade show in June, where a number of high profile projects will be announced as part of a refocus on hardcore gamers.

Ubisoft has been promoting Watch Dogs rather heavily for the past two years and it looks like that effort finally paid off as the hacky open-world adventure has sold more copies in its first 24 hours than any title in Ubisoft history.
"I once said that the buzz around Watch Dogs was driven by the incredible passion of our early fans," said creative director Jonathan Morin in the publisher's recent blog post. "Today we broke the record for the biggest first day sales in Ubisoft history. I can never say it enough: thank you everyone! We love you all for your passion and your creativity.""Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off," added Ubisoft's co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot. "It's great to see so many customers enjoy playing the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience."In some ways, this isn't a surprise given the huge marketing push behind Watch Dogs. In other ways, it's overcome the odds of being a new IP with its own proprietary engine based in Chicago. Our Dan Whitehead had a good time with Watch Dogs, even if he felt it wasn't as revolutionary as the ads would make you believe. "It doesn't get anything horribly wrong, but nor does it excel at any of the genre beats it so faithfully bangs out," he wrote in hisWatch Dogs review. "It's good, and yet that always feels like a criticism when a game comes weighed down by this much hype."

Microsoft is bringing the Xbox One to Japan on September 4, some ten months after the console first hit store shelves in North America and Europe. Systems with or without Kinect are available at launch, with the peripheral-less unit priced 39,980 yen (around $392). Add in Kinect and the bundle goes up to 49,980 yen ($490).
Japanese publisher Mages/5pb Games greeted the news by unveiling three titles for the system. The trio are visual novels and Mystereet F: The Detective's Turn Call, and a tie-in for the anime series Psycho Pass. ThePsycho Pass game and Mystereet F are in development at Mages' Div 8, the new studio headed by former Cave head Makoto Asada.
According to Inside Games (via Siliconera), Asada has three more games in development for Xbox One. He plans to make an announcement on them at next month's E3 conference, so chances are we'll learn more about the floating girl teased as Div 8's "next project."

Letting buyers choose whether they want a Kinect with their Xbox One will mean more games created for the system, Microsoft's European Studios boss Phil Harrison has reasoned.
Microsoft hopes to boost system sales with a new $399 / £349 Xbox One package planned to launch in June, which drops the previously standard Kinect sensor.
Harrison told OXM: "Fundamentally that is good for opening up the Xbox One ecosystem - the more consumers who buy Xbox One, it's a virtuous cycle for more developers to make and more consumers to play games, and that is what we're committed to achieving and continuing."
He added that Microsoft remains "committed to Kinect as the premium way to experience the Xbox One vision", and observed that more than 80 percent of Kinect Xbox One users are active.
The first part of Harrison's cycle appears to already be working: US retailer GameStop has observed increased consumer interest in the console thanks to the cheaper, Kinect-less version, GameSpot reports.
"I definitely think we're already seeing in our stores with our reservation program as well as dialogue with PowerUp Rewards [members that] there's a stronger demand as a result of the price drop," the firm's president Tony Bartel said in a financial call Thursday.
Xbox One sold 115,000 units in the US in April before the announcement, trailing PS4 system sales for the month.

Players will no longer be able to crash an entire server with a well-timed satchel charge in the Xbox 360 iteration of Titanfall thanks to a newly-issued update courtesy developer Respawn Entertainment.
Prior to this patch, if a player were to place a satchel charge on a departing enemy dropship, they could crash the entire server and disconnect all players by detonating the device after the ship had warped away. Now, the charge will have no effect as it will vanish alongside the departing ship.
Though that issue is the highlight of the patch, numerous other changes are listed in Respawn's patch notes. For instance, Private Matches will now require only two players to be locked and loaded prior to launch, instead of the six required previously. Further, player experience point tallies have been adjusted to display properly after rolling past Gen 10, and team colors will now appear more clearly on the game's mini-map.
For a full rundown of the update's changes, take a look at the official Titanfallwebsite. Or, if you'd rather dive in and examine things for yourself, you can grab the patch from Xbox Live at no additional cost.

GameStop President Tony Bartel noted an increased interest for Microsoft's Xbox One following the hardware manufacturer's recent decision to change course and package the console without the Kinect camera peripheral. "I definitely think we're already seeing in our stores with our reservation program as well as the dialog to Power-Up Rewards that there's a stronger demand as a result of the price drop," Bartel said during the company's earnings call this week.
Microsoft announced that it will begin selling the Xbox One without the Kinectlast week. The dis-Kinected console will hit retail on June 9 for $399 in North America and £349 in the UK. Following the news, GameStop began offering special trade-in prices for Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles in exchange for in-store credit towards the cheaper Xbox One. Microsoft also revealed that it will no longer keep media streaming app like Netflix and Hulu Plus behind its Xbox Live paywall, though it confirmed to Joystiq that free-to-play and subscription-based games such as The Elder Scrolls Online would still require the paid Xbox Live subscription to play.
"The good news for us is it sells more units. We'll sell a lot more units, because like we shared earlier, we're driving a lot of the growth, and that means there will be more [Xbox One] units out there to put software on," Bartel added. GameStop reported total global sales of $2 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2014 (ending May 3, 2014), which amounted to a seven percent increase year-over-year.

Microsoft even toyed with the idea of building the Kinect into the Xbox One itself, Xbox One hardware designer Carl Ledbetter has said.
That would have made it a permanent, non-removable feature - and prevented the recent uncoupling of Kinect and console.
“We actually built models of that,” he said. “We pushed ourselves, can we put it all in one? Is that going to work? And the technology just isn’t there yet. As soon as you have something much bigger than the Kinect sensor people don’t want to put it by the TV, it’s too big.”
Ledbetter, however, said he isn;t sad about the recent decision to drop Kinect from some Xbox One hardware SKUs.
“It’s all designed together, it’s holistic. And in the version that consumers can buy that doesn’t include Kinect, it still all works,” he added. “And so I think I share the same opinion that everybody does that by having more choice for the consumer, and a new point of entry for them, it’s great."
Develop has lots more detail.

With the World Cup 22 days away, Xbox is getting into the festival mood with a 40 percent sale on FIFA 14 for Xbox One and 360 - that's right, not the World Cup game that just came out. That discount takes the sportsballer down to $36 (£30/42 euros), and as with all of this week's deals, that price stays good until Monday, May 26.
If you prefer your contact sports with more bloodshed, the Killer Instinct Ultra Edition is 50 percent off for Combo Break owners, and 12 percent off for everyone else. While the base game is free, the Ultra Edition adds all Season 1 characters, costumes and accessories as well as the classic arcade game from the 90s.
Finally, Bandai Namco has a selection of Xbox 360 games on sale that includes musically classic RPG Eternal Sonata for just over $5, the offline-playable Soul Calibur 2 HD for $10, and the Serkis-enhanced Enslaved for around $5 too. For the full list of games and their discounts, hop on over to Major Nelson's.

A new Skype update for Xbox One means users can snap in the online calling service while playing games or movies on the main screen. Users could previously snap in other apps as the second screen to Skype's main screen, but now it works the other way round too.
So, if you fancy calling your bud for a quick mid-Ryse chat, you can. Or, if want to go meta, you can snap in a group call with the members of 1990s Eurodance sensation Snap while you groove to a video of their bop-tastic We recommend the latter.

The Xbox One's June update is headlined by external storage support, allowing users to connect up to two 256GB or larger USB 3.0 external drives to the system. The upcoming update also adds automatic sign-ins upon booting the system and the option to display your real name to select friends. Across the borders, Canada and Europe can look forward to finally receiving access toOneGuide and its live TV features.
On external storage support, Microsoft says Xbox One owners can choose which of their drives, including the internal 500GB drive, is the default location for new game installs and so on. Microsoft also notes players can install games to an external drive, plug that drive to another Xbox One, and sign in or insert a disc to start playing there.
As for displaying your real name to friends, this differs slightly to the implementation on PS4. On Xbox One you can select which - none, some, or all - of your friends can see your real name. You can extend that to include friends of those friends, but followers who aren't your friends will only be able to see your gamertag.

WWE 2K15 is coming to Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 28 in North America, and October 31 internationally. There'd been speculation the wrastlin' sim might not hit this year after Take-Two's earnings release listed it for "fiscal 2015," but with a single tweet 2K Sports ensured those doubts have been put to bed - or should we say piledrived to bed. Or elbow-dropped to bed, or body-sl...
Beyond dates and consoles there's not much to go on just yet, but it'll be interesting to see how much WWE 2K15 steps things up, given it's the first entry on PS4 and Xbox One. We'll find out soon enough, no doubt, but in the meantime
