Surprise, surprise: the government doesn't take kindly to being hacked. The United StatesDepartment of Justice announced today that four members of an international hacking group have been indicted for stealing over $100 million of software and intellectual property, and two of the accused have already pleaded guilty. Using a mix of SQL injectionand stolen passwords, the group reportedly hacked into internal networks owned by Microsoft, Epic Games, Valve, Zombie Studios and the U.S. Army. Their target? Video games and specialized pilot training software.

Xbox 360's with 500GB and FIFA 15 pack are incompatible with RGH
Seems Microsoft has released a new Corona motherboard layout that is using a smaller die and new traces and Nand setup, as such it is currently not possible to RGH (mod) these new Xbox 360 consoles!
Looks like Microsoft is still improving the Xbox 360 console, releasing yet another new model, and because it is new PCB layout with a smaller die chipset, it is sadly incompatible with the current RGH hacking setups, leaving those buying these new Xbox 360 consoles unable to mod them correctly.
"KonzolozZ over at team-xecuter.com has posted info about a new Xbox 360 Corona motherboard bundled as 500GB + Fifa 15 Pack which is incompatible with RGH. Various observations from the forum post: The CGPU is without IHS, and the type is: 4672991 D-A3;X888841-001. Featuring SKhynix or ST NAND Samsung K4J10324KG-HC14 NAND flash. These are the new 500 GB consoles, the MFR DATE 2014.08.14; LOT NO./DATE: 1436X. The NAND is readable and writeable, after writing ECC it gives 0010 secondary error. The post_out fix adapter doesn't fit."
But don't worry, Team-Xecuter says they will have one of these new models tomorrow, and 15432 is already looking at the new Nand dumps, so it might not be long before you be able to RGH these new boxes, all tho for sure you will need a new post_out fix adapter, and I guess this means CR4 will be delayed a bit more again by TX until these new Corona models are sorted out by everyone.

Not going to be home to catch the South Park season premiere this week, lack a DVR but have an Xbox One? We realize those conditions might narrow the field just a bit, but you shouldn't worry either way: the Comedy Central app is now available for Microsoft's newest gaming console. With it comes access to current shows the day after they air and a trove of past seasons and catalog programming, too. The Daily Show network notes on Xbox Wirethat there's a bunch of stand-up specials and digital shorts available on the app (similar to its Xbox 360 counterpart) as well. The difference between this and Hulu Plus, of course, is that accessing the shows is free with your existing cable subscription. It's even more of a deal in the wake of Microsoft not requiring an Xbox Live Gold membership to access media apps. With enough time, the Xbox One could even start to pay for itself -- assuming you only watch Comedy Central, that is.

Third-party developers have grown very fond of building neat stuff with the Kinect, so it's no surprise that Microsoft itself would create projects using this technology. Enter the Cube, a five-sided, Kinect-powered box which can interact with people around it -- the company describes it as a "canvas for a new kind of creative expression" and a "technological sculpture that's a venue for new types of interactive art." You can dance, or make other random body gestures, in front of it and the Cube will project that image onto one of its panels, , no less; think of it as what you would see on a game likeJust Dance, but minus the layer of flashy outfits. Microsoft's Cube isn't all about the Kinect, however. Inside, there are also five computers and five projectors which, paired alongside a total of four new Kinects, are what make the magic possible. You can watch the Cube in action after the break.

The price of the Xbox One has been cut by £20 in the UK, the latest in a string of reductions since the console launched last year.
The Xbox One is now priced at £329 on the Microsoft Store, and is around the same on the Amazon Store.
Microsoft is currently trailing the PlayStation 4 in terms of sales. Last month, the reported figures stood at ten million PS4s sold versus five million Xbox Ones shipped. This new cut, coming ahead of the rush of AAA releases, is likely an attempt to gain a stronger footing in a key market for the Xbox One.
The Xbox One launched in the UK last November. With a Kinect in the box as standard, the retail price was £429. The first price drop was ahead of the Titanfall launch in February, which brought the cost of the system down to £399.
But the most significant cut was the result of a much larger change: the £50 that consumers saved when Microsoft relented on making the Kinect an essential part of its strategy.

Having just discovered that Halo's Master Chief is actually Chinese, we were about to call out the irony of the Xbox One's delayed launch in mainland China, but now we have some good news. According to our brethren over at Engadget Chinese, Microsoft has just confirmed that its latest console and Kinect sensor will be on sale in China on September 29th, which means local gamers will be able to enjoy them over the week-long national holiday commencing on October 1st. Alas, only 10 games -- including Forza Motorsport 5,Dance Central: Spotlight and Neverwinter -- have been approved by the authorities in the first batch, but the company claims that over 70 titles are already "in development." There's still no word on what caused the original delay; our guess is Microsoft initially felt there aren't enough approved launch titles, but there's always the grey market, of course. Sony, your move now.

While Nintendo has its 3DS and Sony has its PlayStation Vita to please gamers on the go, Microsoft stands alone as the only major competitor in the modern games industry without a portable device dedicated to gaming. And well, for modder Ed Zarick, that just won't do. Behold: The Xbook One.
Combining the innards of an Xbox One with a 22-inch screen from a Vizio television and custom 3D printed parts, Zarick has turned Microsoft's newest home console into a portable device for mobile gaming. Well ... kind of.
While certainly easier to lug around than a standard Xbox One and 22-inch TV, the Xbook One isn't a device you can use just anywhere; it still requires an outlet for power, and the Kinect is not integrated into the design. Still, the modding on display here is impressive, and we could easily imagine the Xbook One being a hit with LAN parties and the like. Also, it's just fun to say: Xbook. Xbook.
You can check out Zarick's breakdown of the process at his website, and watch a video demonstration of the box after the break. If you want to get your own, you can order one straight from Zarick for the sum of $1,495, plus shipping.

If yesterday was Microsoft's day for announcing big news (read: a $2.5 billion acquisition), today is the day it moves on to less pressing topics. The company's hardware team just unveiled a few new accessories, including a wired Xbox One controller for PC gaming, and a portable Bluetooth keyboard that can pair with three different devices at once. Starting with the controller, this is basically the same one that already ships with the Xbox. In fact, because it comes with a battery pack in the box, you could use it wirelessly with the Xbone, in case you need a second controller. Heck, even the price is the same, at $60. The only difference? It includes a USB cable, allowing you to play on a Windows PC. Unfortunately, for now, at least, the controller can't be used wirelessly with a PC. Then again, the last-gen Xbox 360 controller started as wired-only, but later got a dongle, allowing you to use it wirelessly with Windows machines. So maybe Microsoft will follow a similar timetable here as well.

Remember the Xbox One "Armed Forces" camo controller revealed back in July? Now imagine it blued-up like a proverbial Tobias Fünke, and you got yourself a stew going the Midnight Forces controller, coming to North America exclusively to Best Buy "for a limited time." Like the Armed Forces offering it comes in at $65, and it's due on store shelves on September 28.
The midnight blue controller's also headed to Europe in November. Microsoft confirmed with Digital Spy it's exclusive to Amazon in the UK, with a sterling price tag of £50.

The Xbox One sold 24,000 units in its first four days on sale in Japan, according to data from Enterbrain and Famitsu.
Or, to be a little more precise, the Xbox One sold 23,562 units between Thursday September 4 and Sunday September 7. Japan has always been a problematic market for Microsoft's console business, and these figures will do little to alter the perception of the Xbox brand in the region.
By way of comparison, Sony sold more than 320,000 units of the PlayStation 4 in two days in Japan, and that may be below the company's expectations.
The best-selling Xbox One game during that period was Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall, which shifted just over 22,000 units, followed by KInect Sports Rivals with just under 15,000 sales. The figures for both games include copies bundled with the Day One edition of the console.

Microsoft may be developing a streaming service that would allow games from both of their most recent consoles to be played on a PC with minimal lag, claims technology news site Neowin.
Such a service would likely build upon Outatime, a research project within the company made public last month, which used FPS Doom 3 and RPG Fable III to test a method of disguising network latency for "mobile cloud gaming".
It would enable Microsoft to compete directly with PlayStation Now, the Sony streaming service currently in Open Beta in the US and Canada.
The report claims that the service has progressed beyond the concept stage and is currently in testing, with highly positive reactions so far from users.
Microsoft are yet to comment either confirming or denying the story.

Boeing has a pretty storied history with lasers and now its testing one that can take out UAVs and rockets regardless of where it's installed. A recent trial run of the tech was conducted in Florida under some pretty grueling conditions (heavy fog, rain and wind), to prove that even a lower-powered version of High Energy Laser Mobile Demonstrator -- HEL MD for short -- is capable in a maritime environment. As Boeing tells it, the firm exceeded all of its goals and successfully engaged with some 150 different targets including drones and 60mm mortar shells with its 10 kilowatt laser. Wired says that the energy beam is powered by lithium ion batteries, and that the whole setup only requires a diesel-backed generator to keep the wheels of war defense moving. Meaning, running out of fuel, not munitions, is basically the only threat the energy weapon faces.

We weren't lying in our review when we said that the Xbox One felt like a work in progress. From the sounds of it, though, the system's next update will add features and functionality that frankly should have been in the box last fall. For starters, once the patch rolls out to everyone in October, double-tapping the Guide button on the Xbox One controller will act an awful lot like pressing the Guide button on the Xbox 360 controller does: it'll give options to bring up your friends list, achievements and messages. Finally! The update is also supposed to make recording video without Kinect voice controls a lot easier by letting you save the last 30 seconds of game-video by double-tapping the Guide and then hitting the X button.

Aurora 0.2b Is Here!
We have put a lot of work into this release. While the primary goal was to continue to fill out the game details scene with the disabled items, we did manage to include a few new options and changes that hopefully you all will find useful.
Below, We've outlined the additions, changes, deletions, and fixes. Take a look and please enjoy!
New Scenes:
DLC Browser - This scene will allow you to browse your DLC for your retail games and delete DLC if desired. Additionally, if you browse DLC for any titles that are under the ScriptData = "Emulators" it will display a list of roms for that emulator. There are going to be some assumptions in the this first iterations of the the ROM Browser, such as your roms being in a subfolder called "Roms" in the particular title's folder. We've also added the ability to set launch data for ROMs- this means you can press (A) on a ROM and it'll launch the emulator with launch data set- it'll be up to the emulator authors to support direct loading ROMS from there.
Saved Game Browser - This scene will allow you to browse your Saved Games and delete them if desired. Not much more to do at this point, but is at least a little bit of management in that area.
Preview - This scene will allow you to browse through the screenshots downloaded during the Content Scan process. It will also allow you to play the trailer that was downloaded, if available. Note: To play all trailers you will need the Optional Media Update. Click here for installation directions.
Achievements - This scene will allow you to browse through the achievements that the signed in profile has unlocked. Secret achievement description can be revealed at the push of a button. Not much else to do, but a good way to check your progress in a game.
Synopsis - When the game description is longer than the viewable space in the game details scene a new button will show up to the bottom right of the synopsis to allow you to open a viewer of the synopsis. This will allow you to scroll through and read all of the details.
Overscan - This scene will allow users to adjust their overscan from within the dash without having to modify the database.
Changes
* Unity Username and Unity Password will change from profile specific to system specific. ( You will have to reset this up after booting for the first time)
* Addition of a "Updates are Available" notification at boot of Aurora, if new updates are available (can be disabled by modifying database)
* Support accents and special chars in Unity Username field (and other text fields)
* Fixed rendering bugs that can occur with custom Coverflow layouts
* Fixed TUs not saving to USBMU and consequently not applying correctly
* Added wallpaper shader. This is basically a configurable Pixel shader that allows you to warp and animate the background ( there are still issues with it when using it in conjunction with overscan- these will be resolved in a future release )
* Fixed bug in FTP Server that kept you from browsing to the Game: folder has been fixed
* Reversed the TiltLeft and TiltRight motions in some coverflow layouts
* Added new subtitle LUA script to give show achievement information in the Game Details
* Fixed issue with Downloading status not showing the proper queue size
* Fixed issue where XNA game titles were receiving 'FULL TITLE' in the title name
* Fixed formatting issue with FTP 'FEAT' command causing it to not work properly with some FTP clients
* Added FTP 'SITE' commands: STORAGEINFO, DRIVEBYTESFREE, RESTART, REBOOT, SHUTDOWN, MEMORYINFO. Use command 'HELP SITE' for description and usage information
* Added support for OnBoardMU for corona systems- not sure how we missed this originally
* Added Flock by Phoenix coverflow layout
* Added Lazy Stacks by Swizzy coverflow layout
* Added Spiral Stack by Swizzy coverflow layout
* Fixed UTF8 encoding issues in multiple places
* Changed the way custom user filters were stored allowing users to more easily share scripts. Created same method to share scripts for sort scripts and subtitle scripts as well
* Added ability to view game background while in the game details scene by pressing the Back Button
* Fixed issue where DLC would get scanned during the TU scan at boot.
* Fixed other minor skin glitches and logic bugs
Supported Languages
The following is a list of translations available in this next release. If you have a language that is supported and not already completed that you would like to translate for us, please contact Swizzy on these forums.

Future Updates
There is still a lot we would like to do with this dash and this most recent update has proven to us that our foundation is strong. In the future we want to bring you more functionality to further solidify its place as the definitive dash alternate for the Xbox 360. We are working on things like a file manager, quick view options, title specific settings, and more- stay tuned and enjoy!

Xbox 360 owners will from next week have Sky News added to the TV section of their console’s UI.
The feed is being made available in both the UK and US from Tuesday September 9th.
“Sky News is consistently exploring opportunities to expand our global reach,” Sky News head of digital Andrew Hawken said. “Making Sky News available on Xbox was an ideal way to achieve this.
“With a growing US footprint of a million users and a US news team, we’re thrilled that our coverage will be showcased to millions of Xbox customers.”
Sky added its subscription VOD service Now TV to both PS4 and Xbox One in July. Both are already available on PS3 and Xbox 360.
