Microsoft is bringing the Xbox One, and the Xbox LIVE service, to 28 new countries this month, from South America to Asia, Europe and Africa.
The rollout is a continuation of the company's worldwide release plan, bringing the total number of territories for the machine tio 41.

If there's one wing of Microsoft that's hoping a Kinect is part of your Xbox One experience, it's probably Skype. The latest updates to SuperSkype Extreme let you answer a call while you're playing a game or watching TV, snapping it off to the side like just about every other app on the console with a simple "Xbox, answer" voice command. The snapped-app fundoesn't stop there, because instead of interrupting whatever you're doing to view any recent calls or favorite contacts by going full-screen, you can now do that in the small window off to the side of your display. Message previews get in on the same action, too. If you're of the picture-sharing mind, the Xbox One app now accepts messages sent via mobile device as well, and you can even turn them into a slideshow if that's your bag -- after all, it won't cost you anything.

Motorola's long-awaited smartwatch is finally ready to be released, at least in the US. After roughly five months since being unveiled, the Moto 360 is due to hit the consumer market at last, one that's been so patiently awaiting its arrival. Starting today at noon ET, those of you in the States can order your very own for $250, from Motorola's website, Google Play and Best Buy (both online and at retail stores). That's not it, though, since Motorola also revealed that its circular Android Wear watch in metallic flavors will be coming later this fall -- although those sleeker silver and black options are set to be priced for $50 more than its leather counterparts. That said, Motorola does want early adopters to feel blanketed, so it's making the metal, swappable bands available separately for $80 a piece. Across other parts of the world, meanwhile, the Moto 360 smartwatch is going to hit the UK in "early October" for £199, and Canada in the fall for $279. Your move, LG.

MekaX v3 is released. MekaX is a Sega Master System/Game Gear/SG-1000/SC-3000/SF-7000/MK3 Emulator for XBox.
MekaX v3 Fix Changelog:
this is a not a new release of mekax,but it seems that the original release of this had some files missing. so this is the emulator with the missing files included.
MekaX v3 is released. MekaX is a Sega Master System/Game Gear/SG-1000/SC-3000/SF-7000/MK3 Emulator for XBox.
* Cheatcode support for the Game Gear (Game Genie, Pro Action Replay) and the Sega Master System (Pro Action Replay) added. Just select the cheat code file you want when searching the cheat code database.
* Given the full "Madmab Edition" treatment.
* New dual-preview skin to support Ressurection Xtra's. Say thank you to Gilou9999 for the skin.
* "Auto Game Configurations (aka Configuration defaults)" added (see below description).
* Improved the screenshot, box/cart art, and movie streaming to make browsing games a little smoother.
* Files within a zip now display sorted properly now.
* Fixed a couple goofs that prevented loading ROMS over a samba share.
* "Move Selected to the Garbage Folder?" now has a new option.. "Never Move". So "Yes" will ask before moving the selected file to the Garbage folder. "No" will just move the file and "Never Move" won't move the file at all.
* New feature "Seconds before playing movie" determines how long the emu will wait before playing a movie. The default is half a second. This will help speed up rom browsing. Especially useful for people streaming stuff (like movies) across the network.
* Pick -1 on "Seconds before playing movie" to set to 0 seconds. 0 will equal half a second.. 1 one second, and so on.
* If streaming movies from across the network and the user press on the dpad or a, b, x or y the emulator will abort the transfer. This should help speed up rom browsing and allow the user an "out" especially for the larger movies.
* User can now select which "cheat code database" they wan't to load since it seemed silly to mix the many AR and GG codes into one file for Snes9xbox.
* Select file function now has an option to not display directories. First menu to use this is the cheat code database select screen.
* Pressing the back key while viewing a games synopsis will toggle between a fixed font and the skins proportional font.
* Fixed long standing bug of YesNo Menu pop-up graphic not centering properly.
* Fixed an issue with the software filters displaying garbage.
* Activated the "Keep user Within ROM Directory Tree?" which I somehow missed.
* Fixed up the box/cart art position on a few skins.
* Fixed a problem where setting the box/cart orientation was screwed up.
* Fixed the bug that screwed up Gilou's skin to begin with (too weird to explain). icon_razz.gif
* Fixed a long standing bug in the favorites system. This one goes waaaaay back.
* Emulator should now work with 1.6 Xbox's super big thanks to FreakDave. 1.6 users let me know how this works for you.
* Fixed a problem where the media directory selected by the user replaced the wrong media directory. Again. Double Doi on me! icon_razz.gif
* Fixed the problem where the wrong synopsis description was showing when selecting a game in the favorites menu.
* Fixed odd bug where the opening movie and movies played full screen in the media browser would not display properly at 1080i

In the "General settings" menu there will be a new option.
"Automatically Use Default Game Configuration - Yes/No"
If the user sets it to "Yes" it will bring up the game configuration screen and let the user define the default (if no default.stg and default.key file exists).
In the "Configuration" menu there will be a new option... "Set default game configuration"
The user can go in anytime thru the "Configuration" menu to change these "defaults" to something else if they wish.
Once set to "Automatically use Default Game Configuration" the user will not see the game configuration screen again unless they... a) press X when selecting a game. Change "Use Default Game Configuration" back to "No".
Keep in mind when it is set to "Yes" the game will use your "Default game settings" and not the normal x-port behavior. If set to "No" the emulator will behave like it usually does. Each emu is typically different. But all, at the very least carry the controller settings over.
This feature will only be added to emulators in which it is feasible to use.

Final Burn Legends v1.13 is released. Final Burn Legends is a port of Final Burn Alpha 2.99.07 to the Xbox. It also includes parts of FBA-XXX Pro 1.29. Support for over 2700 games. Some games are not playable anywhere else on the Xbox.

XBMC4XBOX v3.5 RC1 is released. XBMC is a free and open source media player software made solely for the first-generation Xbox video-game console. Other than the audio / video playback and media center functionality of XBMC4Xbox, it also has the rather unique ability to catalog and launch original Xbox games, and homebrew applications such as console emulators from the Xbox's built-in harddrive.
XBMC4XBOX v3.5 RC1 Changelog:
Removal of all the defunct and broken scrapers, fixing up some problems with the imdb/tmdb scrapers and adding a new default music scraper that uses the http://theaudiodb.com API.
FFMpeg/DVDPlayer updates from XBMC.

Fix for browsing library when network is not connected.
Improvements/fixes from XBMC for ID3/Tag parsing, CD Ripping, and Playlists.

Ever since Microsoft cut its motion- and voice-sensor from the Xbox One package, the second version of Kinect has been in limbo. Sure, you could still get one if you shelled out $500 for the deluxe version of Xbox One, but there was no way to pick one up on its own. What if, say, a new Dance Central game for Xbox One were to be announced? Microsoft always said it would offer the device standalone, and now it's got a release date and price: October 7th for $150 ($50 less than the Windows version, for those wondering). Even better: Kinect on Xbox One comes with the aforementioned new Dance Central game. Not a terrible nod to the most important third-party game studio making Kinect games.

Yes, okay, other consoles have boldly gone onto 500GB but the new box is the biggest Media Drive yet for Xbox 360. It's also $20 cheaper than the current 320GB edition, coming in at $110 on retail shelves stateside. As for when it'll hit them, Captain Larry Hyrb simply says "it's on the way," while Xbox.com lists pre-orders as "coming soon."

French retailer Micromania.fr allegedly posted and then removed a listing for a white Xbox One and Sunset Overdrive bundle. Eurogamer snapped a shot of the bundle, listed for €399.
White Xbox One were previously only available to members of Microsoft's development team and through various charityauctions. Gamescom, the world's largest game convention, is next week and Microsoft will be holding a press conference for the first time. So, you know, stay tuned.

Following the success of Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus, EA has unveiled its own Xbox One-exclusive subscription service dubbed EA Access.
Those who spend $5 per month (or $30 per year) on an EA Access subscription will be granted free, all-you-can-play access to the publisher's biggest Xbox One games, including Battlefield 4, Peggle 2, FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25. EA plans to add to this selection of games over time, and according to a Game Informertweet, the publisher has "no plans" to remove content in the future. In addition to the gratis games, EA Access members receive 10 percent discounts on all of EA's digital Xbox One content and are granted access to big EA releases up to five days prior to their official debut.
Keep in mind, there are caveats to this promotion. EA describes that early access as a "a limited trial," and not access to the full game. Further, according to the fine print, Titanfall is "excluded from all EA Access features," and given the service's mention of unlimited online play, it stands to reason that an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for full use of EA Access. If your interest is still piqued, you can find everything you need to enroll in EA Access at the program's officialwebsite.

As every month, Microsoft offers a lot of new features and improvements to the Xbox One and the first information on the contents of the update of August are available.
New / fixed: - Wire activity: The menu will change visually with a longer and with more content dropdown list. It will be possible to add text, "liker" and comment activity. Ability to share your videos play in the stream is publicly or privately with some friends. When a person likes or comments on your business, you will be notified. The stream may be designed to view only predefined friends. All new above will be available on Smartglass. - A Friends tab on the home: A new tab appeared on the home page to access their friends list more quickly and see the latest games played , gaming trends and success. - Buy and Smartglass on Xbox.com: It is now possible to purchase content, games and DLC, Smartglass or via Xbox.com. If your console is in standby mode, the download will start automatically. - Low Battery Notification: A notification will appear when the battery on your controller will be low. - Disable notifications when videos: Ability to enable or disable notifications when watch a video. - Supports Blu-ray 3D: The application will be updated to allow the playback of Blu-ray 3D. - OneGuide Brazil, Mexico, Austria and Ireland: The new countries will benefit from information OneGuide TV. - "Last seen" Friends: In the friends list, it will be possible to know how long a contact was last seen.
