We're still left wondering about its "winter 2010" release date, but Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam has now been priced at $15 (€12.99, £9.99, 1200 MSP). The DLC expansion will add four new maps, 15 new weapons and six vehicles to fit in with its setting. Era-specific items include the M79 grenade launcher, Navy SEAL XM22 machine gun, Huey helicopter and the ability to "RUN, FORREST! RUN!" from all the bullets and explosions.
The DLC also features a '60s soundtrack comprising 49 tracks across eight in-game radio channels. So, just recline on the battlefield and listen to "Ride of the Valkyries" as the destruction occurs all around.
And now we just keep on waiting for that date to show up -- like we did on prom night.

THQ has Fantastic Pets.
It's an augmented reality game for Kinect that's due March 2011.
So, it's like real-life but better.
The pets you're given at the start of Fantastic Pets are rubbish: cat, dog, horse, lizard. Chuck them out, send them back - rubbish!
But they can become great. Through training and competitions and plenty of TLC, your beasts can change, eventually morphing into stunning dragons or unicorns - hence Fantastic Pets.
Blitz Games is making it and employing voice recognition as well as gesture input.

The Kinect and PlayStation Move versions of Michael Jackson: The Experience have been pushed back to Q1 2011.
We had expected them this autumn. The DS, PSP and Wii versions are coming out on 26th November.
Ubisoft has plenty on its Kinect slate already for 2010: Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Fighters Uncaged and MotionSports.
The French publishing powerhouse has also produced Racquet Sports exclusively for PlayStation Move.
What's more, Just Dance 2 only arrived on Wii last Friday.
Michael Jackson: The Experience hopes to teach you how to dance and sing like the late great King of Pop.

Microsoft and Lionhead clearly want to deter you from grabbing a second-hand copy of Fable 3 with the offer of free in-game treats to those who buy the game new.
All new copies of the game will contain a single-use Xbox Live code that will grant its user access to a number of "exclusive" items, including a Raise Dead potion, Slow Time potion, the Scot costume, a Highlander tattoo set and a Red Setter dog skin for your pet.
Some of these items, particularly the potions, sound like they might be items you'd acquire in the game anyway, but not necessarily as early and easily as using the code.
Fable 3 got an 8/10 in its first review. The 360 exclusive sequel is due in European shops next Friday, October 29.

Prospective Couriers planning on making the trip to New Vegas should take a moment to head down to Tesco, where they can pick up Fallout: New Vegas on Xbox 360 with 800 Microsoft Points for £37.70
However, according to the advert in this morning's Metro, the offer is scheduled to end on Sunday - so get there early to avoid disappointment.
Tesco has said it plans to place a greater focus on games and wants to control 20 per cent of the market by 2012.
This offer continues its trend of undercutting specialist video game retailers. Earlier this week it said it's giving free copies of Alpha Protocol to customers who purchase Vanquish.

Microsoft is renaming its (free) Xbox Live Silver service to "Xbox Live Free Membership," according to a tweet from European community manager Graeme Boyd. This comes alongside the refreshed Xbox.com and, of course, the Xbox Live Gold price hike, as part of an apparent pre-Kinect relaunch of the Xbox's online presence.
The new name no longer emphasizes Silver's status as subordinate to Gold, but rather highlights the advantage of that level of membership -- the fact that it's free. In a followup tweet, Boyd clarified that the feature set for Silver won't change and neither will the name for the paid membership. If you're Gold now, you'll stay gold.

Newly released
features•PES Productions has enhanced the 360-degree passing ratio, offering unprecedented levels of control over every pass, shot, throw-in, through ball and lofted through balls. Users can pass the ball into space, and move their play with total freedom. Players must precisely weight their passes and second-guess the runs of their team-mates and exploit their movement. Players even can apply pressure on opponents to force them off the ball
•In addition to the generic power gauge, the Shot & Stamina meter details the player’s exact level of fitness. Constantly sprinting will have an adverse affect on performance and statistics
•Defenders now hold their positions naturally, instead of chasing balls that enter their area and work to close down the attacker to force mistakes
•PES Productions has totally reworked every element of in-game animation. These additions will become clear before even kick-off, with the players enjoying fluid, natural movements, with more realistic acceleration and inertia than ever before. The physicality between players is also improved, which was a priority requested in PES forums. Jostling and blocking now looks stunning, while there is a larger variety of convincing tackling styles. Ambient animation also adds immensely to the in-game atmosphere, as players behave realistically when off the ball, and walk and run with a variety of individual styles
•The new level of control means that PES 2011 enjoys a more varied pace of play, which depends on the situation at hand. The game will burst into life as counter-attacks come into play, but players can dictate the pace via slow build up or exploiting available space to surge forward. It is harder to make long runs from midfield, and successful play will depend on making quick passes to create space
•PES 2010 showcased the best likenesses in a football game, and PES 2011 ups the ante further. Facial animation has been enhanced, but the key advances are over 1000 all-new animations which have been recreated from the ground up using over 100 hours of motion captured footage yielding more organic runs, turns, throw-ins, tackles, and interaction
•The PES Productions team has implemented an all new ‘Drag and Drop’ mechanism that can be used in every aspect of team management. These settings are also animated to promote better understanding of the plays that have been altered
•PES has always offered a wide range of subtle skills, feints and turns, but PES 2011 allows users to map their favourite move sequences to the right stick, making them more accessible than ever before
•PES 2011 will mark the online debut for its much-loved Master League element, with players bidding against each other for the world’s best players, and attempting to build a squad that can compete with the best against online peers all over the globe
descriptionPRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2011 is here and will bring digital soccer to the next level. Central to the heart and soul of PES 2011 is the idea of freedom of play. This freedom invigorates the series with the most advanced set of gamplay improvements ever attempted by the Winning Eleven Production team, coupled with the greatest stride in new content. The result will be a game that allows total control over every element of play – even online – to give the most lifelike soccer experience next to actually putting on a uniform and taking the field.

Fans hoping to play the console version of The Witcher 2 - announced alongside the PC game last year - were dealt a blow today after CD Projekt described it as merely a "potential" release.
Even if the console version does come to fruition, it's "not likely" to launch alongside the pillar PC game.
"All I can say for now is that it's not likely for any POTENTIAL [sic] console release to be simultaneous [with the PC game]," senior producer Tomasz Gop told Eurogamer this morning.
He then apologised for being able to offer only a "no comment" on the console game's current status.
CD Projekt's continued reluctance to show The Witcher 2 on console - or even confirm which platforms it's on - has lead to speculation of its existence. In May this year, CD Projekt had to jump to the defence of the project on Twitter: "CD Projekt always wanted and still plans to develop The Witcher 2 on consoles - nothing has changed," the company promised.
CD Project dumped previous console game The Witcher: White Wolf - an adaptation of The Witcher 1 - due to funding issues.
Luckily, there's a silver lining: The Witcher 2 on PC, which is shaping up to be something special. And it is absolutely still on track for a March 2011 release, Gop reiterated.
As for a demo, Gop couldn't say. There's nothing "confirmed" so far.
The Witcher 2 on PC has a new engine that CD Projekt can't stop boasting about. But it's story the developer believes is the RPG sequel's "ultimate feature".

Sega's next batch of high-definition Dreamcast ports (following Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure) is a good reminder of the failed console's eclectic and enduring selection of games. The first has reeled in hundreds of scaly creatures who can only stare vacantly at their captor, mouths agape -- the other one is Sega Bass Fishing.
According to Eurogamer, the all-singing, all-dancing Space Channel 5 Part 2 will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in "early 2011," alongside the aforementioned aquatic catch-em-up. Interestingly, Sega has never published Space Channel 5 Part 2 in North America. The Dreamcast version never made it out of Japan, and a PlayStation 2 port -- bundled with the first game as Space Channel 5: Special Edition -- was released in America by Agetec.
Overseen by Rez and Child of Eden designer Tesuya Mizuguchi, Space Channel 5 was unique in melding a goofy story with rote rhythm-based mechanics. Part 2 ditched the first game's pre-rendered video backdrops and added instrument battles, impromptu singing showdowns and expanded on the original's catchy, Austin-Powers-in-space music.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer has put his cards firmly on the table with a stinging yet indirect assault on Sony's 3D business model, telling press that current 3D technology isn't mainstream enough to become successful.
Speaking to CNN, Spencer made it clear that he doesn't believe that expensive 3D televisions and glasses will break the 3D market in the home, although he did admit to liking the glasses-less concept of Nintendo's 3DS.
"For better or for worse, people just don't really have TVs in their house right now that are going to do 3D in a way that's going to work," Spencer told CNN. "I like the 3DS, you don't have to wear the glasses."
Spencer's views seem to be firmly focused on upsetting the plans of Sony, who have invested heavily in the 3D market with films, PS3 3D support and 3D televisions themselves.
"As a corporate mandate, I don't need to sell you a new TV, that's not part of my business model. Other companies maybe have that part of their business model. I don't."
Recent NPD figures showed a significant increase in sales for the Xbox 360 compared to the same month for last year, whilst PS3 figures were down considerably. The market penetration of 3D televisions has been far lower than many interested parties had predicted.
Microsoft's only console experience with 3D so far has been the stereoscopic 3D release of Batman: Arkham Asylum as part of a game of the year special edition.
"It felt a little more like a science experiment than something that's going to go touch millions of people," Spencer remarked in reference to Arkham. "Clearly, we're not going to ignore 3D. I think it is something that will play a role in entertainment."

Fallout: New Vegas is so good it'll make your head spin, quite literally in the case of Doc Mitchell.
The first character you meet in New Vegas can't control his head, which spins around while he talks, before he floats around the room while his bonce flops down to chest level.
While that would make for an amazing opening, it's definitely not how the game's intro is supposed to play out - check our walkthrough of the first 20 minutes of New Vegas to see how it's supposed to be.

EA will release a free multiplayer download pack for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Medal of Honor on November 2. Well, free for those who have the Online Pass, anyway.
The DLC adds a new multiplayer mode called "Clean Sweep," in which American troops help organize a messy home "an elimination mode where players must rely on their own skill and teammates' expertise to prevail as the winning team." The DLC includes two new maps designed for the new mode, called Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves, and new versions of the Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins maps also designed for Clean Sweep.
