L.A. Noire isn't just for men playing by themselves, according to developer Team Bondi.
Testing has seen people playing together to pool brain power.
Writer and director Brendan McNamara toldGamespot L.A. Noire "appeals to a really broad church".
Despite the game being exclusively single-player, NcNamara reported tests that found multiple people playing together.
"One of the phenomenons we've seen a lot when we watch people play the game is that they'll play it, or their wife or their girlfriend will play it," McNamara explained. People play L.A. Noire "like watching TV."
"So far it's been very appealing to women, too, which is great. I think women are pretty good at reading whether people are lying or not."
Oli Welsh confessed an 8/10 score for the title in Eurogamer's L.A. Noire review. Game's out today in the UK.

Aqua Panic dev Eko has revealed a pretty new game called Storm.
It's a puzzler based upon controlling aspects of a storm - tornado, lightning, rain, etc. - to guide a seed to fertile ground. It's gentle, calm and attractive.
A bolt of lightning can carve off giant lumps of a frozen hill, for example, or set dry brush alight. Rain can suck the seed upwards and a tornado flings things around.
Storm's aiming for a $10 (800 MSP) summer PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade release.

Just-released Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts has problems.
Bethesda's Xbox 360 and PC forums are awash with error reports.
More specifically, users have reported that already known issues with the main "E-DE, My Love" quest from New Vegas are preventing gamers from starting Honest Hearts.
Bethesda is aware of this and is working on "a fix", promised company poster "Nick" on the Bethblog.
However, Nick issued a warning relating to this fix that suggests some players may have to start the sprawling role-playing game over if they wish to play the DLC.
"If you already have a save game where the bug is occurring, the fix will not apply and you'll need to revert to an earlier save prior to ED-E leaving in order to play through Honest Hearts," he said.
Bethesda has also offered advice to Steam gamers who can't start Honest Hearts. The solution involves opening Steam, right-clicking on Fallout: New Vegas, selecting Properties, clicking Local Files and then Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
If that doesn't work, Bethesda suggests deleting your .ini files.
Eurogamer awarded Fallout: New Vegas - Honest Hearts 6/10. The add-on hasn't yet been released on PlayStation 3 because of PlayStation Network downtime.

Rockstar and Take-Two's L.A. Noire - released this week - is expected to sell around 4 million units for the company in the 2012 financial year.
That's the estimate of analyst firm Cowen & Company, which expects the game to move only half the 8 million units Red Dead Redemption sold during the last financial year, which Take-Two reports on early next week.
As a result of this and weaker sales of NBA 2K12, it is lowering its estimates per share to $1.00 from the consensus of $1.20 for the 2012 year.
"We do not view the rest of the company's line-up as likely to drive significant profitability, and are of the view that GTA V is not likely to ship until FY13," wrote analyst Doug Creutz.
"We believe initial management guidance for FY12 is likely to be even more conservative than our below-street estimate due to the possibility of an NBA lockout/strike which could impact sales of NBA 2K12," he added.
According to Creutz, upcoming titles XCOM, Duke Nukem Forever, Spec Ops: The Line and The Darkness II "are all derived from significantly aged franchises, and hence our expectations for the titles are modest."
"We also note that product announcements are no guarantee of actual (timely) delivery based on the company's spotty history of hitting ship dates," he added. "We continue to believe that GTA V, as well as Max Payne 3 and/or Agent, are likely to ship during FY13 at the earliest."

Crystal Dynamics' decision to give the Tomb Raider franchise a comprehensive makeover with the forthcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 reboot felt like the only way to go for the series, the developer has insisted.
Discussing the game with Edge, Crystal Dynamics boss Darrell Gallagher explained that the game's traditional formula had run out of steam.
"A reboot for us felt like the necessary thing to do," said Gallagher.
"Lara had hit her apex in how she was before, and we didn't really feel we could take that any farther. It was a chance to look at everything again, bring new people in who had been interested in the franchise before but didn't feel like Lara was modern enough.
"We left no stones unturned as we were going through the concept, and then kept the right stones. The crucial thing is that it feels like her, even though it's completely different."
The title, due out later this year, sees a young Lara Croft attempting to survive after being shipwrecked on a remote Japanese island.

The rumours were correct - the next three add-ons for Fallout: New Vegas will be called Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road.
And they'll arrive in that order: Honest Hearts first on 17th May (PC, Xbox 360) and 18th May (PS3); Old World Blues in June; and Lonesome Road in July.
Honest Hearts takes you and your caravan into the tribal raider-ravaged landscape of Utah's Zion National Park, where the fate of the local factions lies in your hands.
Old World Blues turns you into a lab rat and has you scouring a science facility for answers.
Lonesome Road ends the courier story, as Courier Six - Ulysees - promises answers if you undertake one last mission - a task from which no other has returned.
Each add-on will cost 800 Microsoft Points or £7.49/€9.99.
The "always entertaining" and "shamelessly entertaining" Fallout: New Vegas scored a whopping 9/10 on Eurogamer.

THQ has confirmed it will bring the currently Wii-only uDraw peripheral and its games to Xbox 360 and PS3.
"I am pleased to announce that we plan to bring exclusively designed uDraw GameTablets to Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 platforms this holiday," said THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell in its Q4 2011 financial announcement today.
This will come as no surprise after Farrell previously admitted that the firm wasn't ruling out bringing the accessory to "other platforms".
No further details the PS3/360 versions of the tablet were announced, and the company only committed to a "holiday" 2011 release.
THQ also confirmed that it has shipped 1.7 million units of the uDraw GameTablet so far in fiscal 2011.
Wii art peripheral uDraw, which can be used in conjunction with titles such as Pictionary, and reportedly enjoyed a solid Christmas in the US.

A sequel to much hyped but under-performing Xbox 360 fantasy epic Too Human could be on the cards, according to creator Denis Dyack.
The Silicon Knights president told IndustryGamers, "We intend to finish the trilogy but no comment beyond that... You know, there's very public litigation around that."
First announced for PSOne way back in 1999 and intended as a trilogy, the game eventually launched on Xbox 360 in 2008 to middling reviewsand underwhelming sales.
The litigation that Dyack referred to is a long-standing complaint against Epic. Silicon Knights claims it compromised Too Human by failing to provide adequate game engine support, instead choosing to focus on its own titles - Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 2007
Silicon Knights is currently working on X-Men: Destiny for Activision, due for release on as yet unspecified platforms later this year.

The "Never Fight Alone" phase of the Gears of War 3 beta will begin May 8, allowing players to invite friends into the foray. Participants in the beta will earn "buddy tokens" by finishing challenges or completing tasks ... like giving Microsoft more money.
Every person who has played a game in the Gears beta will receive a buddy token. Additional ways to obtain a token are by purchasing any Gears content off the Xbox Live Marketplace or by adding a 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription to your account. Tokens can also be earned by having played 20 hours or more of the Gears 3 beta -- time already spent does count -- and by playing more than 100 hours of "any Gears of War title, lifetime to date."
Players have until May 4 (this Wednesday!) to complete the tasks and earn up to five tokens. Participants don't need to take any addition action for their tokens, and the alpha-numeric codes will be distributed by email starting May 8 (so make sure your account details are up to date). This will give players a week to team up with their buddies for someGears 3 action before the beta ends on May 15.

The Xbox 360 sold a quarterly record of 2.7 million units between 1st January and 31st March this year, Microsoft has announced, up from 1.5 million over the same period last year.
The data came from Microsoft's fiscal Q3 financial report released today, which stated that total Xbox 360 platform revenue grew year-on-year by $712 million (or 69 per cent) to $1.95 billion.
Company-wide, revenue was up 13 per cent to $16.43 billion.
Driving the platform's growth, the Kinect peripheral sold 2.4 million units in the quarter, putting life-to-date sales at around 10.4 million units when taking into account the eight million it sold between its 4th November launch and 31st December 2010.
"Consumers are delighted with Kinect, as well as our entire Xbox 360 platform, for the revolutionary experience it brings to their living room," commented chief financial officer Peter Klein during an investor call. "Kinect continues to lead the way forward in gaming."
With hardware sales clearly on an upswing, Microsoft insisted that it wasn't ready to start discussing the Xbox 360's successor.
"We're really not talking about that," said investor relations boss Bill Koefoed, in response to a question as to when new hardware might be forthcoming.
"Right now we're incredibly excited about what's going on with Xbox 360 and certainly Kinect, which is relatively new to the market, so we're focussed on that."
As reported earlier this week, Nintendo plans to unveil its next home console at E3 this year.

During the three month period ended March 31, Microsoft sold 2.7 million Xbox 360 units, up from 1.5 million for the same period last year.
