World-building adventure game has sold more than 3,000 copies a day since release last year
Indie sensation Terraria will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next year following huge success for the title ib PC.
Since release in May 2011, the game has sold more than 1.6 million copies, equivalent to more than 3,000 downloads a day.
The 2D side-scrolling sand box game, similar to Mojang’s breakout hit Minecraft, is a world building title that allows users to craft their own weapons, build their own homes and travel to various dungeons.
The game was created by indie developer Re-Logic led by Andrew Spinks.
The PSN and XBLA version of Terraria will be published by 505 Games.
"I can’t say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3,” said Spinks.

DICE has outlined a number of upcoming fixes for Battlefield 3's Armored Kill DLC.
The add-on pack is in the middle of a staggered rollout, having debuted for PS3 Battlefield Premium members last week. Xbox 360 and PC Premium members will get access tomorrow, while the DLC will go on general sale later this month.Gustav Halling, a lead designer on the game at DICE, said the following fixes are being readied to go live "late this week (Thursday/Friday) or early next week (Monday/Tuesday) for all platforms", and that they'll be applied server side, meaning players don't need to update anything.
- Mobile Artillery: The Mobile artillery's "Proximity Defense" unlock is causing players to "suicide" when being used in both vehicles with higher reprorate in the US HIMARS.
- Gunship in Rush: Defenders have been having a hard time winning the last week and we are making tweaks to even out the battlefield =) The Gunship will respawn after 90 seconds instead of 60 seconds in Rush after being destroyed.
- Alborz Mountains Conquest Large (PC only): On conquest large there is a bug where the Russian attack helicopter doesn't show up in the spawn menu. It is however spawned in so either drive down to it or use a airplane as a "spawner" closer to it.

September 10th, 2012, 20:16 Posted By: wraggster
Xbox Live Arcade’s Summer of Arcade promotion apparently didn’t carry the same appeal this year as it has in the past.
Eurogamer’s examination of a Gamasutra report reveals generally low first week player figures for the promotion’s titles.
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD – 98,000 players
- Deadlight – 53,000 players
- Wreckateer – 6629 players
- Hybrid – 12,168
- Dust: An Elysian Tail – 32,000
Tony Hawk and Deadlight Individually fared decent, but Wreckateer is in the running for worst selling Summer of Arcade title of all time.
Eurogamer provides Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s over 145,000 first week players as a means of comparison to quantify the lackluster performance of the promotion as a whole. Also, pointing out that a big name title such as CS:GO launching during the same period could have affected the promotion's sales.

It’s not just one of the greatest pre-order incentives of all time, Hitman Sniper Challenge could also become a game in its own right.
Developer IO Interactive told MCV the success of Sniper Challenge has been ‘crazy’. And the mode has even influenced what it is doing within Absolution.
“People are playing it a lot,” said game director Tore Blystad. “I think the No.1 player in the world has clocked in hundreds of hours so far which is completely crazy, right? We’re very happy because that’s the essence of Hitman; it is made to be replayed.
“The scores have been ridiculous. The best one has 6.5m – how on earth did they do that?
“We are always learning. We wanted Sniper Challenge to have a big spread of scores. And that is now in Absolution. You can always see how your friends are doing.”
And for a standalone game: “Who knows? It turned out really well. If we can find a way to make it work then I guess we will.”

via http://emu-russia.net/en/
MSX emulator for XBOX has been updated. Changes:
Changes To Bluemsx Core:
- Nothing really. Probably could use a core update at some point. :P This is just an update to the latest Madmab Edition interface and features.
- Added in game specific video modes.
- Added in game specific savestate autoload.
Interface Related Changes:
- Fixed an issue where changing the "Samba Nameserver" would also ask you for the "Relax Share Name" when you were done.
- Improved game preview network streaming. I like to call it "pseudo-streaming" so streaming game previews off a network should be ALOT smoother now.
- "Pseudo Streaming" defaults to off. So if you want to turn it on go into "Screenshot/Movie Preview Settings" and turn it on. I'm doing this until I get more feedback concerning the performance of it.
- Removed pop-up that says "Select The Cheatcode File You Wish To Use." per Dominater01's request.
- Cheatcode files now looked for in "Cheats" directory (don't forget to move them there guys!). (Pcsxbox only).
- The two Preset Controller menu options have been moved to the "controller configuration" menu. I did this cause several emu's use this feature now and to help reduce clutter in the in-game menu.
- Fixed blank pop-up message when trying to display the cheat codes when there are none.
- Fixed issues where media would not display when a directory with a period in it was highlighted.
- Added option to "Refresh DVD Drive". It is currently in the "Utilities Menu"
- Finally added option to "Shutdown Xbox". It is currently in the "Main Menu" however I have my reservations about it's location. I'd prefer to have it in the "Utilities Menu"
- Partial >4096 file support put in. If you have more than 4096 title or action shots put them in a directory named "action01" and "titles01".
- Checks put into the cheatcode database checker to let you know if the file is to big or has too many game entries and needs to be split up.
- Gilou9999's HD Colour skins should work properly now (no weird hacks). Be sure to at least copy over the "settings.ini" files in the skin directory and the skin "configurations" directories and "reload the skin".
- Added new skin transition option "none". Real handy for skins like Gilou9999's that uses the HD sprite trick.
- Windows 7 users should have no more weird issues on samba shares! Woohoo! Thank you YRUSirius for pointing out the available patch and Buzz for creating that patch.
- Fixed issue where emulator menu video mode was reverting to last played games video mode in emu's that support game specific video modes.
- Added in a feature "Sprites Used As Background? Yes/No" to allow the use of "sprites" as the background. Setting this to "Yes" allows the game screenshot to be seen in the IGM as well as the savestate screenshots in the select state menu. However skin designers keep in mind the more memory your skin uses the less room that leaves for me to add new features. Things are tight enough as it is.
- Fixed an issue where the synopsis was not always displaying for an unzipped file.
- Fixed a weird issue where if you are missing the "Title" or "Action" directory/picture for a game it would not be displayed correctly in the gameselect or favorites screen.
- Synopsis screen transition now works like it is supposed to.
- Fixed an issue where the preset controller settings were not saved properly (sorry guys. ). This only effects certain emus with preset controller definitions.
- Synopsis code completely rewritten to support the new synopsis format. Old synopsis.txt file is now officially defunct! :P
- Another new option "Use Default Emu Filter?". This will apply a preset filter custom designed for each emu core. It is also used internally by the synopsis code so user interaction is not required in some cases (like when a .zip file contains NFO or text file).
- modified L/R file scrolling so it doesnt kick off the movie so quickly. Hopefully this will fix interference from movies being accessed from a samba or relax share.
- Fixed long standing issue with "Autoload last savestate" where it could potentially pick the wrong savestate. Of course it also helps to make sure your xbox date is set correctly. :P
- Now have the ability to display long names for games. This currently relies on having Xtras ROM files. In the future I will be providing other options.
- Fixed issue where emu would lock up if the media directory path was longer that 36 characters. (Thanks to those who reported it and AMOC for testing for me)
- Fixed issue where emulator would lock up in favorites menu if you start removing games from the bottom up ..
- Fixed issue with wacky numbers when trying to adjust the volumes while in the IGM.

Team 360Squirt has released to the market the new SQUIRT NAND PCB 512Mbytes, ready to be used for DUAL NAND and SQUIRT BGA.
If you didn't know, the 360Squirt Team has made available to the market the new SQUIRT NAND PCB 512Mbytes, which is ready to be used for DUAL NAND and SQUIRT BGA on PHAT consoles.
Here's the official info:
[QUOTE]
Is important to understand some important things on PHAT dual nand:
Like you know if you have a console X360 with dashboard above 14699 you should install RGH2.0 and not RGH1.
Right now aren't availables the DUAL NAND bitstreams for RGH2 because simply xilinx chip is full.
We are working to release the DUAL NAND bitstream working with QSB DUAL NAND PHAT tool, in this case the SYNC button / SMC reset function works perfectly.
The options to install NAND 512 PCB are so two:
1- Install the nand pcb with a phisical switch (CE_B and CE_A switch)
2- Wait the release of QSB DUAL NAND PHAT accessory and the correct bitstream RGH2.0 + QSB DUAL NAND.
Here you can find the diagram how to install SQUIRT BGA + NAND 512 Mbytes with a switch. >> CLICK HERE (added also in diagrams collection)
New tutorial PDF is available here
We remember that SQUIRT NAND PCB can work so also with any RGH modchip! soon we will post links to reviews and videos.
Thanks for now

The Matrix Team has officially announced a NAND dumper which is able to RGH Corona V2.
Team Matrix has announced the production of a new NAND Dumper which will be compatible with the Corona V2.
That's right, the Matrix Glitcher V2 Rev.C will be able to RGH Corona V2.
Here's the official info:
[QUOTE]
A new NAND reader/writer had to be developed to interface to the 4GB Corona motherboard due to the new phison chip and the differences in the communication protocol.
Installation difficulty is about the same as the old Nand SPI reader (even though the pads are slightly closer together, installers will have the choice to use a quick solder board or directly solder wires to the motherboard).
One small note regarding nand dumps : V2 nand dumps don't have ECC bytes (this is by design, since they are stripped by the phison controller which also takes care of blocks remapping and a bunch of other stuff), so scripts that expect them to be present might need to be modified (either that or they need to be added after the nand has been dumped).
The final nand reader software will automatically add/remove ECC bytes to the nand image as to try to preserve compatibility with existing software as much as possible.

The GlitchTeam with the help of many others have shared a nice tutorial for dumping the Corona V2 NAND with an SD card reader.
Seems that the GlitchTeam along a team of hackers over at Dayton360Mods have posted a pretty nice method for dumping the Corona V2 NAND (with phison chip), using an SD card reader soldered directly to the NAND pin.
[QUOTE]
"A team of hackers from dayton360mods.com and glitch360key.fr has managed to load Xell on Xbox 360 with Corona v2 motherboard without swapping the 4GB NAND flash with a 16MB NAND flash, instead using an MMC/SD card reader to partially dump 16MB of the 4GB NAND flash and then NandPro to convert the raw image for compatibility with common build tools before writing it back."

FULL RGH2 Running!
And due to this great news, the Maximus team have announced a new tool called SDTOOL that will make following the currently complex tutorial much easier for everyone!
[QUOTE]
After days of discussion on the dayton360mods forums, we have pasted all the relevant information and developed a set of software tools (sdtool) that will allow you to boot RGH2 on your Corona 4G board today !!
The tools will make the process very simple and you dont have to mess with Winhex nor nandpro nor ecc data conversion, the sdtools does it all. Please note we are not taking credit for the procedure, we only take the steps and make software tools to make it easy and clear (at least is what we think).
Edson Dario has made a Step by Step tutorial. Please note this tutorial is rated C, only for those modders who know what they do, if you dont feel confortable reading then you can wait till other people do a more noob friendly tutorial.
Many thanks to c0z for the guidance. And all other folks over dayton360mods.
Juggahax0r at Dayton360MoDs, Team Squirt, Zhangjiqi007, Zhaojun297,
Glitch360Team, Edson Dario, carranzafp, collions, Sileandro, nice69,c0z(joebloma)
On another topic but related, we are producing our own version of the SD-Nand programmer, we will call it the Maximus SDTOOL to match our software tool name. And hell will be cheap too !!. We will post pictures very very soon.

EA has announced launch week numbers for Madden ’13.
The game continues to sell very well, climbing to 1.65m in its first week available.
The figure is an eight percent jump on HD platforms, and the best start for the series this console cycle. EA added that daily average user rates are up 14 per cent over Madden ’12 as well.
"We're thrilled to see the great momentum continuing on Madden NFL 13," said Andrew Wilson, executive vice president of EA Sports. "The overwhelming feedback is that this is the best Madden NFL game in a generation. Fans are competing in record numbers, and we expect that type of engagement to only grow with the start of the NFL regular season last night, as fans connect with their favorite teams and players through our game."
"We have seen strong demand for Madden NFL 13 leading up to launch and through its first week on store shelves," said Bob McKenzie, SVP of Merchandising, GameStop. "Critic reviews are strong and the buzz from the Madden fan base is more robust than I've ever seen. We've seen this consumer momentum sustain throughout week one and we expect it to continue into the fall and holiday season."
With Madden ’13 already setting a record for its launch day sales, it appears EA has the franchise back on track and then some.

BioShock. Civlization. Mafia. 2K Games has plenty of popular franchises – but it has a new champion when it comes to pre-orders.
As of today, Borderlands 2 has become the publisher's most pre-ordered title in the UK of all time.
The wacky Gearbox-developed role-playing shooter is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on September 21st. Pre-orders have been driven by the promise of access to the Premiere Club, which gives gamers a bunch of additional weapons, items and a new Mechromancer class.
The creation of a packed collector's Vault Hunter Edition has also contributed to early interest.
2K has also been pushing pre-orders at independent retail with its limited edition Top Trumps – click here to find out how you can win one of ten packs.
"We're exceptionally happy with the level of support gamers have shown to Borderlands 2, and the pre-orders are reflecting what a beloved franchise this is," Take-Two's UK sales director Dave Gould told MCV.
"Orders are increasing week-on-week at a rate we've never before experienced for a 2K title. They are exceeding our already high expectations, there's huge momentum behind the game."

Need for Speed: Most Wanted's Kinect functionality is tied to the game's mods. A gameplay video earlier this year teased support for the Xbox 360 add-on, and today Criterion outlined how it works with the equipment and upgrades you fit your car with.
No, there are no invisible steering wheels, and yes, it's voice-controlled stuff. Just as you would in a real car, by saying commands like 'Mods, Nitrous, Burn Nitrous' you can equip your vehicle with whichever mod you need, while you're on the go. No, we don't know if the car talks back, but we'll all find out when the game comes out on October 30.

The economy is rough all over, including inside of video games that just came out, apparently. In response to player feedback collected from Facebook, Twitter and its official forums, Harmonix has changed how coins are earned in its PSN/XBLA score-chasing music game Rock Band Blitz.
First off, power-up costs have been adjusted and Track, Note and Overdrive doodads now cost 100, 200 and 250 coins respectively. The amount of coins earned at the end of a song has also changed; players now receive 100 coins per star earned during the song. Additionally, Score Wars winners will now be granted 1,500 coins, with Score Wars losers taking home 500 coins.
Basically, earning more coins more quickly means that players will have to spend less time grinding, and will be less frequently unable to purchase the power-ups needed to potentially earn a song's maximum score. Also, you ever look at a word so long you stop being able to tell whether its spelled correctly? That's where we're at with coins. Coins, coins coins. Coins coins coins -- coins. Coins?

Microsoft once again outsold the other consoles
Microsoft announced today prior to the NPD report for August that its Xbox 360 console has sold 193,000 units for the month, marking the 20th consecutive month as the top-selling current-generation console in the US.
Microsoft noted that Xbox 360 held 48 percent share of current-generation console sales, which is the 18th consecutive month that the system has held more than a 40 percent share of current-generation console sales in the US. Additionally, total retail spend on the Xbox 360 platform in August (hardware, software and accessories) reached $196 million. Microsoft said that consumers spent more on Xbox 360 products in August than they spent on the other two current-generation consoles combined.
Looking ahead to this holiday shopping season, Microsoft is quite bullish, commenting that "there has never been a better time to own an Xbox 360 than this holiday." The company expects big sales with top tiles like Halo 4, Forza Horizon, Dance Central 3 and Fable: The Journey. The push for Xbox for Windows 8, Xbox SmartGlass and Xbox Music will also start up soon.

Microsoft will have to solve a major tech headache if it wishes to hit its planned September 2013 launch for the Xbox 720, if new reports are to be believed.
Tech site SemiAccurate reports that a chip designed for use in the console, dubbed ‘Oban’, is providing lower-than-usual yields. (Manufacturing microchips is notoriously unreliable. The yield is the number of production units that are functional. Newer tech can sometimes suffer from higher failure rates and, in some instances, prove to be uneconomical).
Oban yields are being described as “worse than painfully low”. Microsoft has even outsourced production to three separate factories in the hope that one will strike upon some sort of magic formula to improve the situation.
Microsoft current launch schedule is said to be able to accommodate a six to eight week delay, but anything beyond that could force the company to alter its plans.
And what is this release date? September 2013, according to SemiAccurate. And the site adds that if it were to slip, heads would most certainly roll.
There are also details about the Xbox 720’s innards. The CPU is apparently, as rumoured, an AMD x86. However, the GPU seems to have undergone an upgrade from the last reports we heard, and is now based on AMD’s HD7000, though it has been specifically tweaked by Microsoft for its machine.
AMD is also believed to be supplying the CPU and GPU for PS4.
See, we told you Microsoft was planning a 2013 launch.
