It's pretty unlikely at this point that you own an Xbox 360 without a copy ofHalo: Reach in some form or another. But if for some crazy reason you just got an Xbox 360 and you're still missing out on Bungie's swan song to the Spartans, Microsoft's got a digital version of the game discounted alongside all of its DLC (well, most of it, anyway -- the Anniversary Map Pack is sadly absent).
There's also a handful of Avatar clothing/items, as well as the always thrilling "Anchor 9 Premium Theme," you big collector, you. Head to Xbox.com's Halo: Reach section to see how today's discounts apply to your region.
Should Halo not be your particular bag, a whole mess of other deals are being offering in the coming days and weeks, mostly of the Hasbro variety. Major Nelson has conveniently compiled them for you right here.

Japan's retail shelves will soon be the long-term home to four Xbox 360 options, just in case someone happens to wander to the back of the video game section. A 250GB Xbox sans Kinect will be available sometime before the end of the year (which doesn't leave much shipping time!) for ¥29,800.
Previously, buyers were limited to the choice of a 4GB model with or without a Kinect, or a 250GB bundle with Kinect. That added Kinect really isn't doing anything for sales. The good news here is that if you are in Japan and decide to pick one of these up, you should be able to find a cheap copy of Final Fantasy XIII-2 to go with it.

This new version of soulheaven's Glitch chip brings further functionnalities.
1. 2 LEDs in order to know the state of the chip
In Standby mode :
- Green Light : Your chip is flashed
- Red Light : Your chip is empty
In Working mode :
- Green Light : Your chip is waiting for POST Signal
- Red Light : Your chip is processing a RESET
2. Improvments of Slim boot timings
Indeed, this new revision of the chip brings a huge optimisation on Slim boots.
AND MORE, without any useless 50cm long wire, that make interference and block RGH boot.
The chip has been optimised for 80% of Slims, but for the others 20%, you will be able to optimize the boot manualy
by adding a 4cm to 8cm wire directly on the chip.
3. Improvments of FAT Compatibilities
Indeed, several FAT motherboard (most often Jasper) have difficulties to boots correctly. This new revision
solve the problem for most of them.
4. Integration of (un)activation of the chip for the dual nand installation
Indeed, today you don't need any additional external circuit or any relay in order to unactive the chip during the usage
of a dual nand.
With a Cygnos v2 (For example), only one wire is needed between the Cygnos v2 and the x360Glitchip v1.4.
The x360Glitchip will automaticly be unactived during the boot of the retail dual nand.
You will ask us, but when this new revision will be available ?
THIS WEEK !!! We advise all our resellers to order now the new revision. The current available quantity is small.
We remind you that the RGH is NOT compatible with followings motherboard :
- Corona (Slim manufactured since the 17 Aug 2011)
- FAT with a CB Stage 2
This is not due to the chip, but due to the hack itself.

We are proud to announce the availability of the Matrix Glitcher II.
Thanks to the hundreds of feedbacks we received from our distributors and testers around the world, we decided to release an updated version of the Matrix Glitcher.
Some of the new features include:
* Preprogrammed with a brand new and advanced Matrix Glitching code.
* Compatible with all Xbox360 SLIM and FAT models (except Corona and Xenon motherboard)
* On board switch to quickly select console type and model.
* Future-proof updateable with external USB programmer (not included).
* After-installation fine tuning of glitch timings to better fit each different console (external USB programmer needed)
* Unique Serial code identification for each Glitcher II verifiable online.
By connecting the GLitcher II to a PC (using the same external programmer as the one used in the Matrix Freedom PCB), the installer will be able to cycle through 7 different timings for each console models of the Fat Xbox360 and 3 different timings settings for the Slim Xbox360.
This will allow the installers to fine tune the Glitcher II to the best available settings for each console.
More features will be given with future software releases, to enable an even more deep interaction of the Matrix Glitcher II with your Xbox360.
Goods are in stock and already shipping to our official resellers. You can find the nearest one to you on our Resellers page.
Installation Diagrams are already available here. A small tutorial on the use of the External Programmer to connect the Matrix Glitcher II to the PC and how to use the “Fine Tuning” feature will be available shortly.

While the others were fixing their glitch chip problems and releasing a bunch of revised versions, instead of doing it right first time like the Xecuter CoolRunner, we were making something else that is totally awesome and will take jtag/glitching to the next level.
Coming very soon
On a side note a lot of users have asked us to do a Pin Header cable set for the Nand-X and CoolRunner as the current Nand-X pin header set is popular with none QSB users so we designed that too. The first batches were shipped today to retailers.

TingedAce released a new version of XNand Healer GUI - a GUI app to help you dump and manage NAND files, remap bad blocks and also uncripple your Xbox 360.
What's new/fixed (since v0.71):
- This release is for small but important change to the build glitch image feature. It's possible for another Multibuilder operation e.g. "build JTAG image with custom smc" to leave an smc.bin file in the data\my360 folder. The next time xeBuild is invoked by Xnandhealer (or from cmd line) the build would erroneously pick up this smc and cause a bad image build.
Now any leftover smc.bin file that may be present in the Data\my360 folder will be removed before building the image, thus ensuring the correct smc is always used.
- Supports xeBuild 14699 and Multibuilder 0.6 (old ggBuild now not supported)
- Supports automatic XeLL bad block remapping in first 0x50 blocks (first 0x10 big blocks)
- Added option for including dashlaunch patches or not
- Added 'Glitchable' CB check (as well as JTAGable check)
- Added convenient button to open windows explorer at the working directory
- Updated known CB list with non-glitchable CBs 4577, 5772 & 6752
- Changed: USB is now the default interface instead of LPT
- Changed: Now uses xell image + other files from Multibuilder folder and removed embedded versions
- Changed: Removed in-built fcrt extractor (xeBuild does it now) Fixed: Unable to select Jasp16 SB or BB in Build XeLL tab or Build Glitch tab
- Fixed: Relocated bad blocks could be reported in reverse order in a very few cases

C4E released the iXtreme LT+ v3.0 CFW for the BenQ (Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038/1650V) and FAT Lite-On (Philips-LiteOn VAD6039/DG-16D2S) drives:
[QUOTE]
C4E's iXtreme LT+ in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter
Official release of the iXtreme LT+ v3.0 for Benq and phat Liteons
- Support for topology data on AP25 enabled titles. Will correctly answer any ap25 challenge eliminating need for dae.bin to create a backup.
- No need to make new backups everytime dae.bin is updated on console
Topology Data
When ap25 was first introduced I devised a way of calculating any challenge which I called the silver bullet which I made reference to a long time ago.
This was withheld until it was absolutely necessary. It was easier to replay the fixed challenges.
With unique per console ap25 challenges it has become necessary to use the silver bullet.
A series of measurements are taken across the disk. This topology data is then used to calculate a response to any ap25 challenge.
It is very important that the drive used to create the topology data is reliable at reading discs as bad topology data equals bad ap25 responses.
Liteon drives using 0800 v3 seem to be more accurate for this purpose. Only ap25 enabled titles require topology data. Activation of ap25 on older non-ap25 games although technically possible is highly unlikely.
Currently topology data for xgd3 titles are similar and topology data from one xgd3 title will pass on another xgd3 title although this is not advisable.
Per title title topology data is best as there are slight differences between titles and newer titles could have different topology than existing ones.
I would like to wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year. I look forward to the challenges ahead.
Thanks go to Team Jungle for their hard work and efforts in the development process.
Thanks also go to Team Xecuter for their support to this project.

Kinect, the next generation and Indie Game frustration - Microsoft's year in videogame news.
Kinect
Microsoft began 2011 buoyed by the immediate success of Kinect. Sales of the Xbox 360 motion sensor soared past eight million units in just two months, dwarfing its internal target of three million. Kinect would soon be named the fastest-selling consumer electronics device of all time by Guinness World Records, and would help Microsoft set an internal record too: its revenue for the last three months of 2010 came to $19.95 billion.
In the run-up to E3 it became quickly apparent that Microsoft's vision for the Xbox 360 in 2011 centred on repositioning the console as a media hub powered by Kinect. Days before the conference kicked off in June, corporate communications VP Frank Shaw noted that 40 per cent of all Xbox 360 activity was spent doing something other than playing games, saying: "The vision for Xbox is straightforward: all of the entertainment you want, with the people you care about. Made easy."
Yet few were expecting Microsoft's E3 conference to be so thoroughly dominated by Kinect. There were the family-focused titles, of course - Disneyland Adventures, Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster, Dance Central 2 - but Microsoft's Kinect fever had spread to the core, shown off in Mass Effect 3, Fable: The Journey and that risible Kinect Star Wars demo. Only Gears Of War escaped, Epic's design director Cliff Bleszinski saying it would have felt "tacked-on," advice which would have been well-heeded elsewhere.
Peter Molyneux admitted that his decision to only show an on-rails section during his on-stage demo of Fable: The Journey, due to his timeslot being halved, was "a horrendous mistake" after the watching press decided the game was entirely on-rails, and he later admitted Kinect "has some real problems." Gamers who feared the worst after Microsoft's Kinect-heavy E3 presser were far from placated by the announcement of Nuads: Kinect-powered, interactive advertising.
Indie Games
Microsoft has spent much of the year getting on the wrong side of those who develop for its Xbox Live Indie Games service. The company said it would investigate after Cthulhu Saves The World developer Robert Boyd spotted that his game had dropped several places in the top rated chart, while the little-known College Lacrosse: The Video Game had soared up the rankings. The latter game's developer had asked its 175,000 Facebook fans to boost the game's rank by giving it five-star ratings, taking advantage of Microsoft allowing anyone with a free xbox.com account to rate titles on XBLIG.
Fans complied with the request, but also gave low scores to games in the upper echolons of the top rated chart. Microsoft tweaked the rating system in response, restricting it to Xbox Live Gold members, but was unable to roll back suspicious votes. Boyd was putting it mildly when he described the situation as "highly disappointing," but if he and his peers felt unloved by Microsoft, much worse was to come.
Xbox Live mouthpiece Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb trumpeted the Metro dashboard update, with its voice and gesture controls and an integrated Bing search, as "simpler, cleaner and easier to navigate." Unless you're an Indie Games developer, of course; when Metro was rolled out in early December it was quickly found that the Indie section wasn't, well, quickly found. "If I had trouble finding it," Boyd told us, "I can only imagine that few people are going to stumble upon it accidentally." Several other developers shared their frustrations with us, with one, Mommy's Best Games, releasing a co-op shooter, Game Type, satirising the difficulty of finding Indie Games on the new dash.
Next-gen?
While Microsoft continues to insist there is no Xbox 360 successor on the horizon, the news tells a different story. In March it sought to fill three hardware development vacancies; both EA and Crytek were forced to deny claims that they were already in possession of next-gen Xbox hardware, the publisher insisting the report in question was "a total fabrication."
Yet with the console on its last legs in Japan - as our report in August revealed - and even the likes of Braid developer Jonathan Blow saying the current generation's RAM limitations are making porting problematic, a new Xbox can't be too far away. Last month a source told us that Ubisoft Montréal, and other major studios, were already in possession of 'target boxes' approximating the final specs of the Xbox 360's successor. That source went on to insist that Microsoft was planning on pulling the rug out from under Nintendo's Wii U launch by releasing its new console before the end of 2012. With sales of PS3 close to overtaking Xbox 360, we can't imagine Microsoft will accept being in last place for long, no matter how well Kinect performs.

We've received complaints about Xbox Live profile errors over the last week. Subscribers are prevented from downloading their profiles off Live, locking them out of the online network and purchased content. The code we've been tipped on the most is error "801540B7," but we've also seen a similar issue with "80070571," both relating to Live profiles.
We contacted Microsoft to find out if there was a common cause that we could report on and help prevent. We've only heard about these problems since thenew Xbox Live dashboard became available earlier this month.
"We have recently identified an Xbox Live profile data error that results in Error Code '801540B7' for a small number of Xbox Live members. The error instructs users to attempt to re-download their Xbox Live profile and directs them to customer service support for further assistance," a Microsoft spokesperson told Joystiq. "We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our loyal Xbox Live members and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
If you've experienced error "801540B7," or a similar profile error, contact usand describe exactly what happened when the error occurred.

The "Fenix Rising" map pack for Gears of War 3 will decorate players who are already well-versed in rolling shotguns. The new add-on, due on January 17, 2012, for 800 MSP ($10), adds five new maps, four character skins and "Re-up," the Gears version of Call of Duty's "Prestige." Here, it allows players to rank through level 100 multiple times for "exclusive emblems and weapon skins."
The Re-up can be done three times to unlock the following weapon skins:- Re-Up Plasma – Animated flowing plasma in gold.
- Re-Up Omen – Shiny, red Omen.
- Re-Up Electric – Animated, golden electric shocks.
"Fenix Rising" is the third of four packs bundled with the $30 Gears Season Pass. The "underdeveloped" campaign DLC, RAAM's Shadow, was the most recent release, coming after the co-op focused "Horde Command Pack."

Starting tomorrow, operatives in the field will receive two supply drops from HQ. Renegade Ops agents can opt to bolster their fleet through The Vehicle Pack, which adds two new heroes to your ranks: Crystal and Blazemo. Each has their own unique set of weapons and abilities. They can be yours for 240 MS Points ($2.99).
The other option is codenamed Coldstrike Campaign, and adds three new war zones to the Renegade Ops mission agenda. Accepting this mission will require you to produce 400 MS Points ($5) for the cause -- the enemy is entrenched in the icy tundra and is employing new enemy variants such as the Golem, a large factory that pumps out low-flying aerial units. It's much different from our original intel, which showed the enemy enlisting the aid of Jewish sorcerers.
