The English release of Metro 2033 will include a subtitled version of the original Russian dialogue. Both PC and Xbox 360 versions support this.
We hope that means no comedy Eastern European accents, although we haven't heard the English VO yet.
Metro 2033 is a post-apocalyptic shooter set beneath Moscow, where metro stations have become settlements now Earth's surface is ravaged by disaster.
Developer 4A-Games hopes to layer on the atmosphere, and has turned out a game not too dissimilar to GSC's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. so far.

Xbox Live developer NinjaBee has confirmed A World of Keflings will release this year.
It promises local multiplayer for the first time, plus a load of features asked for by the community following the release of the original A Kingdom for Keflings.
"A World of Keflings is much more than a sequel. It's a new game with a ton of new features, including some innovative ideas that stand out from both Live Arcade and full retail games," NinjaBee president Steve Taylor told IGN.
"A World of Keflings also has a new story focus, with new exotic lands, characters, quests, buildings, customization options, and a lot more."
A Kingdom for Keflings, released on Xbox Live Arcade in 2008, was a gentle and charming city-building strategy game. One of its key lures was the ability to use your Xbox Live Avatar in the game

Epic plans to reward the Gears of War 2 community for its loyalty with a special Valentine's Day event that increases bonuses for friends who work together in-game.
Originally proposed by forumites, the Valentine's event offers double points for revives and doubles XP in Wingman and Horde modes.
There's no immediate word on how long the conditions will be in place, but it seems safe to bet on the weekend of 13th/14th February.
Sadly though, Epic wasn't able to include some of the forum's more exotic suggestions, which included "If your wingman dies, you die as well" and "When picking up a meatshield, you get +50 points (physical love)."

Mass Effect 2 has shipped two million units since its release one week ago, according to internal EA figures.
The publisher called the game the first blockbuster of 2010, pointing out that it has earned an average review score of 96 on Xbox 360 on Metacritic, which include 40 'perfect' scores.
"Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010. We could not be more proud of the game's universal acclaim and early commercial success," said Dr Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare and group general manager of the RPG/MMO group of EA.
The game was released in North America on January 26 and across Europe on the 29th.
At the start of the year, GamesIndustry.biz Network members voted the game as their most anticipated for 2010.

Sure, you could take Bungie's latest foray into Mythbusters territory as full on confirmation of Halo: Reach not having Project Natal support, or you could be like us and remain skeptical of the developers still-not-straightforward wording. In a recent post on Bungie.net, the company attempted to answer a mess of "myths" about its upcoming Halo game, including "Myth: Reach is being built for Natal!" In answering, the post states, "Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind."
That said, rather than outright saying, "No, there's no support for Project Natal in Halo: Reach," Bungie instead chose to loosely word the answer. It certainly doesn't help the situation that multiple Bungie employees have expressed interest in seeing Natal incorporated into the Halo series, with Bungie prez Harold Ryan even saying he could "absolutely" see Reach specifically incorporate Natal. So, about that myth ...

While things around the track have been quiet, Capcom is finally spilling the oil regarding DLC for its upcoming racer MotoGP 09/10. At this week's Silverstone event, Capcom revealed that two free DLC packages will be released for the motocross title "shortly" after the game's release.
Before the MotoGP 09/10 turns the final corner onto store shelves, Capcom will release an Xbox 360 and PS3 demo "about a month" prior to the game's launch. The demo is slated to feature the world-famous Mugello, Italy, track as well as all three bike classes and will probably make any race fanatic's wheels spin with joy. Whether you're looking forward to its upcoming March release or not, one thing is certain: The racing references in this post need to end, immediately.

One of the biggest potential stumbling points for the 360's (and PC's!) Game Room - having to secure an endless stream of ESRB ratings - has been solved in a fairly unique way by Microsoft.
Whereas similar platforms - like Nintendo's Virtual Console for the Wii - submit each game to the ratings board individually, Microsoft has had the Game Room itself classified, the virtual arcade given a E10+ rating.
This means Microsoft can release as many games on the service as often as it likes without having to submit them to the ESRB, which should not only speed up the delivery of titles onto the Game Room, but prevent ESRB listings from spoiling the fun in advance, something that happens all too often with Virtual Console titles on the Wii.
There is, of course, a catch, and it has the potential to be a big one for fans of certain titles: the "universal" rating means that no games rated over E10+ will be released onto the Game Room. While this won't affect the majority of the retro titles due to appear on the platform, it will affect a few of the biggest potential releases, like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Metal Slug.
Still, those are in the minority, and as GamerBytes points out, you've probably already got them on your 360 in some form or another.

Star Wars: Battlefront III may have been binned, but we've heard from sources that the series lives on, in the form of currently-in-pre-production Battlefront Online.
The game, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, is currently being worked on by both Lucasarts and Slant Six Games, the studio responsible for SOCOM Confrontation and SOCOM Fire Team Bravo 3.
The title is still in pre-production, so there's no guarantee that we'll ever hear more of it – Battlefront having become somewhat of a cursed property after the recent demise of original developers Pandemic and buy-out of BFIII developers Free Radical – but Lucasarts' insistence on getting a Battlefront game made in spite of all that gives us hope. A...New Hope, even (sorry).
Battlefront Online is, as the name suggests, planned to be online-only, and is tentatively slated to appear in 2011.
Whether this game was the source of that "Battlefront IV" concept art that turned up last year is unknown, but our sources tell us that it is the source of those voice actor rumours from December.

We weren't sure things could get any more interesting with Microsoft's mobile rumor mill, but along comes Zune Boards with some tantalizing findings in the latest Zune software update. First up is the eEndpointFamily files, which lists all the compatible hardware -- ZuneHD, for example. Also found, however, were entries for "PmxPure" and "PmxTurtle." PMX, if you recall, seems to be a reference to Microsoft's Premium Mobile eXperiences group, the remnants of the Danger acquisition who have been whispered to be working on Project Pink. As for Pure and Turtle, let's go back all the way to September 2009, when we first heard those names as the initial Pink duo -- there were some supposed renders, too. If that's not enough, two PMX table entries pointed to a snippet of text stating that "Studio members" can "View and manage pictures and videos taken with your phone at the Studio," followed by a link that for now redirects to Zune.net. Could the mysterious Project Pink and the oft-rumored "Zune phone" be one in the same, with some "Studio" service for uploading media to the cloud? Is this all some red herring perpetuated by some amused Microsoft staffers? We don't know, but it's mean to tug at our heart strings like that, Microsoft, and worse that it makes Mobile World Congress even more painful to wait for.

Microsoft has told CVG to "wait and see" if it's got a future Alan Wake sequel up its sleeve - as it calls the upcoming game "something you've never experienced before".
The psychological adventure is on track for release in the spring, and has the Xbox 360 community buzzing for its arrival.
"It's unique and gripping story - heavily influenced by pop culture classics - is brought to life using techniques reminiscent of modern movies and TV shows," Microsoft product marketing manager Laura Disney told CVG.
"The goal of Alan Wake is create an intense experience for the player, and though 'psychological thriller' might not be a genre we are used to applying to games, Alan Wake is definitely not something you've experienced before."

Sony may be trying to force the 3D agenda with first-party PS3 titles and 3DTVs, but EA Sports president Peter Moore will not be following suit in 2010, his studio focusing instead on the new wave of motion-control devices.
Speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz, Moore admitted he was keeping "a very close eye" on "the opportunities for sports" in 3D, but insisted the press and public would see "nothing at all" from the studio this year.
"No, no, no. I have a point of view and that's about as much as we have," said Moore, speaking in London yesterday at a FIFA event. "You've rightly pointed out that, from Howard Stringer down, Sony has made it a strategic imperative for the company. And when Sony does something of that nature then we as a company need to sit up and take notice.
"But believe me there's nothing going on right now that would say I'm ready to demo a 3D sports game. Nothing at all."
However, with motion-control coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year, Moore revealed EA Sports would be throwing its weight behind both platforms.
He said: "We're getting in sync with Sony's motion controller and Project Natal with what Sony and Microsoft want to do with their publishing partners, so stay tuned for further information on that as we get closer to the date. And as you can imagine, EA being EA we're going to have our core intellectual property represented in some shape of fashion on those platforms.
Yet despite both the PlayStation controller – rumoured to be called Arc – and Project Natal both set to launch later this year, Moore refused to confirm EA Sports would support either launch window.
"Don't know. I do not know when they're launching. Certainly Sony has made no public pronouncement at all, and Microsoft has said 'holiday', which obviously gives fudge room, so stay tuned."
When it was pointed out that Sony had publicly committed to a 2010 release, Moore added: "Well, that helps! I know what their public pronouncements are and I know what we're working towards. We're also going to get in sync with their announcement strategy. If they hit this year then you'll hear something from us about what our plans are."
At yesterday's event, held at Stamford Bridge stadium, home to Chelsea FC, Moore also unveiled FIFA Online, a free-to-play PC title due to go into public beta this summer.
"We need to grow our business in a world where the core boxed goods business is not growing to the level all of us would want," he said. "But what is growing is the world of digital and if there are problems that we're solving with FIFA Online, it's accessibility, it's price, it's time consumption."

January 29th, 2010, 10:36 Posted By: wraggster
Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division has enjoyed stand out profits for the second quarter ended December 31, up from $130 million to $375 million.
The division, which includes Xbox 360, Games for Windows and Zune, saw revenue fall from $3.2 billion to $2.9 billion.
The company shipped 5.2 million Xbox 360 consoles compared to 6 million in the previous quarter. Revenue from hardware and software declined 12 per cent to $295 million due to lower product sales - with the company pointing to tough comparisons for two games in the previous period, and price cuts on the Xbox 360. But manufacturing and marketing costs were down for the period.
For the overall Microsoft business, profits were up 60 per cent from $4.2 billion the previous year to $6.7 billion. Revenue was also up 14 per cent from $16.7 billion to $19 billion.
The company noted 60 million Windows 7 sales, claiming it to be the fastest-selling operating system in history.

In a roundabout way, one New Zealand girl got her stolen Xbox back.
Wellington-based newspaper The Dominion Post tells the tale of 11-year-old Rena Sciascia, whose dad was too hobbled by a broken leg to chase a burglar who bolted from the Sciascia's home earlier this week with Rena's iPod and Xbox in hand.
Rena grabbed dad's crutch and gave chase. She told the paper:
"I was scared but I wanted my Xbox and iPod back. I saw him trying to put on a hoodie but as soon as he saw me he sprinted off."
She lost him after a 500-metre chase.
The police later tracked down the alleged burglar. Rena's iPod was lost, but her Xbox was found in a bush near the family's home.
Dad seems proud. Mom, too. Here she is: "[Rena] does not tolerate any injustice. I am extremely proud of her but have told her about the potential danger."

EA and DICE have popped a multiplayer Battlefield: Bad Company 2 demo on Xbox Live Marketplace.
The file is 1GB and can be queued for download on the Xbox website now.
This sampler offers-up the Alaskan Port Valdez map, where teams need to work together to grab and secure crates before the opposing side. Ooh, tense.
EA and DICE will remove the demo on 25th February.
There's no word on a PS3 version, but today's PlayStation Store refresher should clear that up.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 launches on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 5th March. Our gamepages below are stuffed with coverage.

BioWare bossman Ray Muzyka has said it Return to Ostagar, the downloadable content pack for Dragon Age: Origins, is set for an imminent re-release.
"It's almost through certification and it will go back up very soon," he told Gamerzines.
And BioWare's plans don't stop there - "We have a big investment planned for Dragon Age with more DLC coming in the next week or so," said Muzyka. Return to Ostagar launched earlier this month but was swiftly recalled. According to Muzyka, the problem was all in the timing.
"We ran into an issue with a title update simultaneously hitting with Return to Ostagar and there was a timing issue with both of those," he said.
"I don't know if it was a communication error with our distribution partners or what happened there. If they were released in order it would have been fine but it created a bug which prevented progression and obviously that wasn't acceptable so we pulled it down."

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has confirmed downloadable content for the game.
He gave no details on what or when, but told OPM Benelux (via VG247) that "we did prepare a DLC but it will arrive a little later in the West".
Strangely, Kitase was - just a day earlier - reported to have said DLC wasn't being considered for FFXIII at present.
Thankfully, that no longer appears to be the case.
Earlier this month, art director Isamu Kamikokuryou revealed that there had been enough content cut from Final Fantasy XIII to make an entirely new game. An area around hero Lightning's home as well as a secret base for resistence group Nora and a Nautilus Park fairground had been axed to keep the game's size down, we learned.
Whether Square Enix intends some of that content to be reinstated we do not know.
Final Fantasy XIII will be released on 9th March for PS3 and Xbox 360.
