Newly released today:
In a frantic battle to the checkered flag, Sonic and friends speed around tracks set in medieval castle ramparts, lush rainforests and bustling cities, all taken from the visually rich and varied universes of Sonic and SEGA. Fan favorites such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, AiAi, Amigo and many more will join Sonic in their custom built vehicles, revving their engines and jostling to stay ahead of the pack. Each character will speed around the track in cars, planes, motorbikes, and in Aiai’s case – a banana mobile! Secret short cuts, swift handling and avoiding strategically placed obstacles are certainly the best way to get to the top of the podium.
But winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing! Each character has a specific All Star move – such as Super Sonic, Banana Blitz and Tails Tornado – that allows a quick way for competitors to get back into the race! Power ups and weapons can also be collected around the tracks and used against the opposition to ensure they don’t become a threat to that number one position.

Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian has told CVG that it's got an eye on using Project Natal for a mini-game in a future instalment of the series.
Speaking in an exclusive interview - which you'll be able to read on this site very soon - Ruffian producer James Cope said:
"I think Natal as an experience is great because it's opening up a kind of social gaming thing and there's a good place for that. I don't think that fits with what makes Crackdown, Crackdown right now.
"But that's not to say it doesn't fit in with what we want to do with it in the future... we have an opportunity to look at Natal... Because Crackdown is a bit of a non-sensical world and it's about mini-games and having fun within that, we can look at building mini-games that make sense for Natal into the Crackdown univese."
The news comes after Valve's Chet Faliszek told CVG in no uncertain terms that the US developer would never put a 'tiresome' Natal mini-game in a future Left 4 Dead - despite branding the hardware "very cool".

Having developed four Halo titles to date, Halo Reach will be Bungie's last game in the series for the foreseeable future. But is it their last game ever in the series? Never say never.
"You know, it might be premature to say we'll never ever, ever make a Halo game again" Bungie's Brian Jarrard told CVG. "We sort of have a little special place for Halo in our hearts. But for the foreseeable future, this [Halo Reach] is it."
Poor Bungie, they could probably do with a break. I don't care if it's a game about unicorns shitting wish-granting rainbows at a race of amazonian super-women, if it's all you work on for over a decade, you'll get sick of it.
So it'll be interesting to see what 343 Industries can do with the series once Bungie move on, yeah, but even more interesting to see what happens when Bungie ultimately returns to the franchise.

Based on all the information coming out about Halo: Reach, it seems that Bungie's basic philosophy has been: 'The sequels to the first Halo sucked. Let's fix that.' We've already seen a little bit of this with Halo: ODST, wherein Bungie returned to some of the core elements of Halo gameplay and ditched many of the changes introduced in Halo 2 and 3. Reach seems to continue this idea while trying to invigorate the franchise by introducing greatly improved graphics and additional gameplay mechanics

Following yesterday's minor delay, The Secret of Armory of General Knoxx for Borderlands has gone up on Xbox Live.
The Armory costs 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / €9.60) on Xbox 360 and will cost $9.99 when it comes out for PC and PS3 tomorrow, 25th February.
The pack picks up at the end of the Borderlands story and pits players against the Atlas Corporation's "deadly, death-dealing badass, General Knoxx". Fortunately you will be able to bust through the previous level cap on your way to facing him.
You'll also be able to enjoy some of the benefits of the corporation's weapons stockpile along the way, and knowing Gearbox and Borderlands it will be an interesting journey for other reasons besides.

Microsoft bigwig Aaron Greenberg has predicted that Xbox 360 will outperform PlayStation 3 in 2010.
"We believe we'll outsell the PS3 for the full year," he told Destructoid. "We did in 2009."
"We never underestimate the competition. We know they have a lot of great games. They're very formidable. They have great history in this industry," he added.
"But we believe if you are a gamer and you want great games, we have more titles, more exclusives, we have the leading online community, and being able to bring really completely innovative technology like Project Natal to market this holiday, are all things that make us unique."
Speaking of Natal, Greenberg said that Microsoft would resist the urge to flood shops with mini-game compilations and other tat simply to get the exotic-sounding controller-free sensor rig off and running.
"This new category of controller-free games and entertainment is going to bring all types of new experiences that have never existed before," he claimed.
"We want your first impression to be a great one, so we're not just going to dump products because we can, we're going to be very thoughtful about what we bring to market."
Earlier this week British comedian Jonathan Ross tweeted that Natal was "not quite there yet", although Eurogamer understands his impressions were based on the same pre-release setup Digital Foundry ripped to pieces last summer.
Updated Natal presentations with retail game demos aren't expected until later in the year, with our money on E3 in June. Natal itself launches this Christmas.

Funcom has told CVG that Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventure is still in development for Xbox 360.
The title has gone off the radar since being initially announced in 2006. The PC version was released in 2008 to a good critical reception, and has found populairty with the MMO community.
However, Funcom had gone quiet on the 'lost' 360 version.
Speaking to CVG ahead of the release of Age Of Conan expansion Rise Of The Godslayer, Funcom Game Director Craig Morrison said:
"We obviously had many more challenges than we envisioned getting our technology to adapt to the console platform.
"We are still working on it for the future, and we see it as a potentially valuable platform for our games. Whether we have missed a window for Age of Conan itself remains to be seen."
He added: "There are many challenges inherent in [developing for console] that many MMO developers haven't mastered yet.
"... It is currently an untapped market, but as time goes on I think we will start to find good solutions to the challenges that we face there. There are enough people exploring it and working on it that I am confident we will start to see more cross-platform MMO titles."

Yet more amazing internet detectives have uncovered an alternative camera mode for the recently released Lost in Nightmares DLC for Resident Evil 5.
In order to unlock the new camera mode, which frames the action in a similar fashion to the mansion-based originals, all you need to do is talk to the front door a few times until it says "?" instead of the usual investigation prompt (thanks Kotaku).
Lost in Nightmares is out now for PSN and Xbox Live and puts you in control of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in a puzzly, extended version of events leading up to one of Resident Evil 5's flashback cut-scenes.
We thought it was amazing, handing down a whopping 9/10 in this week's review.
Lost in Nightmares costs £3.99 / €4.99 on PSN or 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40 / €4.80) on Xbox Live.

Square Enix, apparently, is all about the cosplay. Just today, the publisher announced that it'll be rewarding the first 50 people dressed in "Final Fantasy costumes" who arrive at the March 9 launch event for Final Fantasy XIII with a free copy of the game's soundtrack. Oh, and also, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo will be there, signing whatever you want.
The release further entices attendees with "high-profile DJ and TV presenter Alex Zane," who'll no doubt be spitting hot fire into a mic all evening. The event kicks off at 5:30PM at the Oxford Street HMV in London and runs until the sun comes up -- or 7:30PM, whichever comes first.

According to a report from Japanese website LiveDoor.jp, and translated by IGN, game content in Capcom's upcoming alien shooter Lost Planet 2 was cut due to the limited DVD storage space for Xbox 360.
Producer Jun Takeuchi said in an interview the team struggled trying to determine what content to cut from the game.
"There wasn't any major trouble," Takeuchi said of the game's development. "More than that type of difficulty, there was too much content, and deciding on those areas was more difficult than anything."
"We had so much content that we wanted to add this time, added Takeuchi. "It ended up being a battle against disc space."
When asked if there was any content the team didn't want to cut, Takeuchi acknowledge there was, adding the team hopes to offer the content in downloadable form in the future.
"We hope to offer those types of elements as future download content," he said.
Update: Capcom has responded to Takeuchi's comments saying cutting content before the game's final release is common.
"Editing the amount of content released with the final version of any game is a standard practice during game development," a company spokesperson said in a statement given to IGN.
"Edits to the initial concept of a game can come from a number of sources including the amount of time given to develop the title, hardware constraints, story elements, or other factors that can detract from the experience."
"We are confident that consumers will not be disappointed with Lost Planet 2 and the variety of massive Akrid, powerful vital suits, beautiful environments and deep level of customization included in the final product."
