Major US retailer GameStop has listed Activision's Tony Hawk Ride for a price of $119.99, including the new wireless skateboard controller.
The GameStop website also lists a release date of October 13 for the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. Activision has not revealed an official price tag - although it has indicated it would be in line with existing Guitar Hero bundles. On GameStop.com the Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar controller bundle is priced at $99.99.
Tony Hawk Ride and the wireless controller was revealed for the first time earlier in the month, but Activision has not announced a release date more specific than autumn 2009. Although the game will be released in Europe during the same period there is continued confusion over whether the Xbox 360 version will be a timed exclusive.
Although listed on other sites such as Amazon.com, no other retailer has stated a price for the game - either in the US or Europe.

Major Nelson received accurate information this week indicating that the Xbox "deal of the week" would be Bionic Commando Rearmed for 400 ($5). A small reminder: to take advantage of the deal, you must have an Xbox Live gold membership, otherwise it'll show as the standard 800 ($10).
It's also worth noting that the Metacritic average for BCR is an 85, while the super new and flashy Bionic Commando is 70. Which one is getting five of your dollars?

Final Fantasy will not be released in North America until 2010, a billboard advertisement has confirmed.
The billboard, plastered on a building in Los Angeles in preparation of next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo, reveals the date with a simple "Coming 2010" message.
Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled for release in Japan for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in the fourth quarter of this year. While it was widely believed that localised versions would not be out until 2010, such speculation was not confirmed until this advertisement's appearance.
Last month, publisher Square Enix revealed that its Final Fantasy series has sold 85 million units to date worldwide. Square Enix has just acquired UK games publisher Eidos, and expanded its catalogue to include franchises such as Tomb Raider, Hitman and Deus Ex.

BNET looked at some patents which suggest that Microsoft might be thinking about an integrated game console/set-top box. Quoting: 'Patent 20080167128 is for watching television on a game console, while patent 20080167127 covers switching a gaming console between various media, including television, video, music, and games, and even using the console as a set-top box. Clearly Microsoft has been interested in controlling the living room, and combining media, gaming, and set-top functions in a single device would make a great deal of sense.' There are also hints of mobile gaming that support the current round of rumors about a combination Xbox-Zune.

A lot's been made of the new Zune commercial that Microsoft aired recently. If you have haven't seen it, take a look. Now don't get me wrong. I think there's a lot that Microsoft can do with Zune, but this ad doesn't quite do it for me. What's wrong? First, it took a shot at Apple that felt silly -- after all, most consumers don't spend $30,000 to fill up their iPod (how much did it cost to fill yours?). Even if that's the case, buying a Zune Pass won't fill up an iPod either. Second, it started to make a value play that's real, but stopped short of actually making it.
The ad was interesting as it begins the discussion of the value of the Zune Pass. That's important. The power of the Zune Pass lies at the core of the differentiation of their whole business model, subscription services vs. single song downloads. Microsoft needs to go further and explain how these two models can co-exist with each other. Up until now there were only two models for music, the free and ad supported stuff on radio, or music you bought or owned (or perhaps acquired elsewhere). Zune Pass and other similar services change all that. While consumers "rent" video content all the time from theaters, cable companies, Netflix etc, there's also a lot of other stuff sold on DVD. There's no reason for this to be binary -- rent or buy -- it's just never been applied to music and when it has, it's not been explained or marketed well at all.

Codemasters' Fuel is big, and while some may argue that size doesn't matter, they're probably just jealous of the open-world racer's immense girth. In fact, the upcoming off-road racing game was recently crowned by Guinness World Records for having the largest playable environment in a console game ever with 5,560 square miles of accessible in-game terrain.
To help us wrap our heads around how big that is, the Codies say that's larger than Hong Kong, Singapore, St Lucia and the Isle of Man put together. Let's just hope developer Asobo (pictured) remembers to fill all that space with enough to do, else it's going to be a very long and boring ride. Are we there yet?

As promised, GameTrailers premiered a new gameplay trailer for Modern Warfare 2, featuring firefights in front of a giant jet engine, a S.W.A.T. team deploying, and a guy in a parka (hooded guys are the new bald space marines!), along with a car explosion that would make the A-Team proud.
As exciting as this footage was, the ending reveals that it's just a taste of an "uncut and extended trailer" that will premiere on the game's website on May 24th. Which means that this trailer is an advertisement for a longer advertisement. We don't mind the tactic as long as the result is more gameplay footage in front of our faces.

Capcom has confirmed to Kotaku that it won't be bringing its zombie-massacre sequel Dead Rising 2 to E3 due to fears about swine flu.
"Our Capcom guys are not coming to E3 because of the Japanese government restrictions," spokesman Chris Kramer told Kotaku. "The company is taking the advisory very seriously." Dead Rising 2 is the only game affected, however.
Japan's government is advising against international travel - the country has 191 confirmed cases of the disease - and Capcom recently cancelled producer Keiji Inafune's planned appearance at the Nordic Game conference this week.
It's Inafune's inability to travel that has cancelled Dead Rising 2's appearance, even though it's being developed in Canada by Blue Castle. "Dead Rising 2 is the only game we won't be able to showcase at E3, because it's at an early stage of development and the team is not comfortable having anyone else demo the code," Kramer said.
Capcom's home town of Osaka reported the first case of swine flu in Japan, and is the worst-affected city in the country.
As yet, no other Japanese developers have cancelled their E3 attendance due to swine flu, although one or two significant companies have yet to confirm their plans with the press.
Last month, E3 organisers the Entertainment Software Association said the expo was "progressing as planned".
We're still going. We're not scared. In the meantime, check out Tom's impressions of Dead Rising 2 from last month's Captivate event.
