What's new/fixed:
* Mugen can be installed in E,F or G drive partition. But bzImage, ird-loop.gz and linuxboot.cfg should still be on E.
* Esc key is mapped to back.
* Swap file support has been added, so it should be more stable.
* Better/fixed support for 2nd controller so you can play with 2 players.

This was arguably the biggest week for the 360 following its late November launch. After an initial outpour of launch games, the system has been just getting by with occasional late entrants: Dead or Alive 4, Fight Night Round 3, and now Ghost Recon: Advanced Warrior and the next-gen version of EA's crashtacular Burnout series. If the CES demo was "jaw dropping," what's the concensus on the retail product? Does it deliver?
Gamespot (88%) - "While Burnout Revenge might not have enough new stuff in it to drag you back in if you've been playing it on other platforms, this is definitely the version to get if you're shopping around."
1UP (90%) - "People who haven't played the current-gen version should get the 360 version if: They are breathing."
Team Xbox (90%) - "The gameplay is as solid as its predecessors, the online support is some of the best out there, and the graphics and audio rival most other Xbox 360 titles."
With an average of 89%, Burnout: Revenge and G.R.A.W. are giving 360 owners plenty to be excited about. March will also see the 360 launches of Far Cry Instincts: Predator, Elder Scrolls IV, The Outfit, and more!

Ubisoft's announced plans to publish Taito's Xbox 360 jet fighter game Over G Fighters in Europe. Known to those of you in touch with the console's Japanese line-up as World Air Force, OGF pits trusty old you against the mean old terrorists, who seem to have got hold of yet more planes, only this time they're going to shoot at other planes in them (weirdoes).
As part of a united world air force, you get to buzz the skies over Europe, Asia, Africa and North America (presumably all the other skies are boring), shooting at enemies in the air and on the ground over the course of 80 missions, each with its own varying objectives.
In the cockpit you'll be able to enjoy an eye-breaking 360 degrees of vision (we think they mean they've modelled the entire cockpit interior, actually), hearing stuff in 5.1 surround sound, and flying around in (deep breath) the F-22A Raptor, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16C Fighting Falcon, F/A-18C Hornet, Su-27 Flanker, MiG-29A Fulcrum, F-117A Nighthawk and other planes with silly names.
You can also record your exploits and view them back later in a special replay mode, and Taito/Ubi's promising eight-player dogfighting and co-op over Xbox Live. As you can see from the screenshots, it's already quite well advanced, and we should hear more about its release date in the near future we'd expect.

Any haters in the house? The early consensus (8 reviews, all 90% or above) suggests that Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox 360 is going to become a prime target for Xbox-loathing fanboys who still think the 360 isn't next-gen. Will they find a kink in the armor? Or did the four-month delay allow Ubi to reach perfection? Here's a glimpse of the praise so far:
GameSpot (92/100) - "Advanced Warfighter is the best-looking game to date on the Xbox 360, and it offers exceptional tactical shooting action to back up those great visuals."
IGN (92/100) - "You'll be impressed with the stunning single-player game, and when you're done, you'll finally get to play long sessions on Xbox Live with an online game that's fully equipped to deliver a next-gen package. My advice, get this game..."
Stuff (90/100) - "Advanced Warfighter on the 360 is so beautiful, we actually dry-humped our conference room TV set."

March 9th, 2006, 18:32 Posted By: wraggster
Microsoft has spent the last several weeks hyping its so-called "Project Origami." As is the company's wont, it has used a teaser campaign centered on a cryptic Web site, www.origamiproject.com, which used a combination of informal language and highfalutin design to hint that, yes, something big--and apparently mobile--was on the horizon.
Gamers' interest in Project Origami was piqued by a conveniently leaked video, which showed an excitable youth playing Halo on what looked like a Microsoft handheld. Since the video showed the device as supporting a graphically intense, full 3D version of Bungie's best-selling shooter, it raised the prospect that the software giant would soon be competing with Sony's PSP and Nintendo's DS in the portable market.
Surprisingly, Microsoft actually admitted the leaked video was legit. However, it also admitted it was a year-old concept video and that all the functionality on display was for demonstration purposes only. That was especially true for the Halo footage, which a source close to the company claimed was merely included because it was a Microsoft-owned property.
Well today, Microsoft confirmed widespread reports that the Origami Project was indeed an "Ultra-Mobile PC" (UMPC), not a portable version of the Xbox, as some had thought. Touting it as "a new category of mobile devices for consumers and businesses alike," the Washington-based software colossus unveiled the first UMPC models at the Cebit technology expo in Hannover, Germany.
Initially, three hardware partners--Asus, Founder, and Samsung--will manufacture UMPCs. The general form factor will weigh in at around two pounds and will have built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality. Each will come with an internal hard drive of between 30GB and 60GB and will sport a seven-inch touch-sensitive WGA screen. According to GameSpot sister site CNET News.com, the only price point announced was for Samsung's Q1 UMPC, which will have a 900MHz Intel Celeron processor and will retail for around $1,200. However, another News.com report hinted that other UMPCs would retail for around $800.
As for gaming, Microsoft's official UMPC site does tout the UMPC's media capabilities. It says the devices can "synchronize with your primary PC and take your music, photos, and TV shows anywhere you go." It also hints that Microsoft is planning some sort of premiumn download service by saying that consumers can "buy music and movies and download them wirelessly." Indeed, one of the partners on the UMPC site is Movielink, the pay-per-view movie download site cofounded by Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and, ironically, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Microsoft also makes much of the fact that UMPCs offer "a new way to play" games. "Enjoy PC and Internet games in new ways with touch, stylus, or hardware controls," boasts the UMPC site. However, the only game the site displays appears to be one of the puzzle games embedded into Windows XP, which UMPCs run the tablet PC variant of. No mention is made of a graphics processing unit or what kind of games the first batch of UMPCs can handle.
Inquires sent to Microsoft about the various UMPCs' gaming capabilities were unanswered as of press time. But given that budget-priced, GPU-less Windows XP laptops from several years ago can run less graphically demanding games such as Civilization III, it is well within the realm of possibility that even basic UMPCs can as well.

March 7th, 2006, 17:10 Posted By: wraggster
Microsoft has been granted its 5000th US patent for a new technology, specially designed for inclusion in Xbox 360 games, that will enable people from around the globe to join online games as spectator.
The milestone patent relates to a host of technologies that mirror the experience of viewing a sporting event broadcast, enabling people to tune in to online videogames and enjoy the gaming experience in real-time as a spectator rather than a player.
Featuring highlights, instant replays, and unique spectator controlled views of the action within a game or event, the technology enables the viewer to control one or more virtual cameras to select desired viewpoints, or an automated camera control to frame the action and perform specific cuts to best convey the story and action.
The patent also covers a portal such as a website to access spectator-related services such as schedules and information on multiple games and events, as well as the number of spectators and participants in each. The portal allows the spectator to find the most popular games to watch, preview the action, and then connect directly in real-time. Microsoft has stated that the technology will be featured in Xbox 360 games, bringing an additional online experience to its increasingly popular Xbox Live online gaming service.
Brad Smith, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Microsoft, commented: "The 5000th patent is a marker of the progress we have made in the past few years - building a high-quality, innovative and industry-recognized portfolio. Through patents, we are able to license our technologies widely to others in the industry, increasing the availability of our innovations and getting beneficial solutions in the hands of customers."
Microsoft is committed to achieving its goal of filing for 3000 patents each year, which is consistent with the average for IT companies of filing for two patents for every USD 1 million spent in research and development, according to a study by the National Research Council of the National Academies.

A next-gen version (or versions) of Gearbox's sequel Brothers in Arms 3 will be released this year, Ubisoft has confirmed with us this afternoon.
Although the publisher refused to talk specific platforms, it's widely reported that at least an Xbox 360 version of BiA 3 will hit in 2006. Scans from an Xbox 360 magazine teasing with a brief glimpse of the game's impressive graphical-technical features (BiA 3 is built on Epic's Unreal Engine 3) have appeared online too, further fuelling the next-gen Brothers in Arms mini frenzy.
You will no doubt recall that a PS3 version of Brothers in Arms 3 was confirmed in September last year, but with Sony still to set launch plans in stone for its next-gen console, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 360 iteration out first - with a PS3 version potentially not even releasing till 2007.
We've been handed no official game details, but according to additional reports Brothers in Arms 3 will witness the return of Matt Baker and members of the 101st Airborne. Action and realism will apparently be beefed up by destructible environments and your squad's new blind-firing and leaning abilities - it's all about remaining behind cover while simultaneously being able to lay down suppressing fire.

Hi all if you are reading this newspost you are on the new server, im sure if you have visited this site regulary you will have noticed that the server has been slow especially on days when we push well over 2000 online at one time.
With Massive thanks to Martin64 our server admin we are on a much faster server, so the problems of the past should be well and truly over.
The DCEmu Network for those of you who are new or not sure of what we are is the only true network to support both Homebrew and Commercial Gaming across all consoles and not just the ones in the news.
We have sites that cover PSP, Dreamcast, GP2X, Nintendo DS, GBA/GB Micro, GP32, Tapwave Zodiac, Gizmondo, Sega Saturn, Gamecube, Nokia Ngage and Mobile Phones, Xbox, PS2, PS1, GP32, Ipod, Nintendo Revolution, PS3 and Xbox 360.
We also have hosted sites for some of the best coders across the console scene namely Chui, GPF, PSMonkey, Deniska, PLynx & Miemt11.
We also have a site for Gadgets and retrostuff too and each site has its own forum.
Last week i opened 2 new sites that will hopefully bring more people to the network in the form of a MMORPG site and a Real Time Strategy Site.
I am personally a massive fan of RTS games but like all the sites and forums, its the people who visit them and chat that make the network what it is.
Thanks for visiting a site that started just over 2 years ago and quickly grew as i brought my other sites over to make a network of sites and one with a name thats easy to remember, namely DCEmu - The Homebrew and Gaming Network.
Thanks for visiting our network

Two updates out for 360 owners; dashboard fix prepares consoles for further updates, DOA4 fix includes option to reset online statistics.
Xbox 360 owners who turn on their machines and load up Tecmo's Dead or Alive 4 may be hit with consecutive loading screens. Microsoft has announced that a new autoupdate for the Xbox 360 is ready and will be downloaded the next time gamers log into Xbox Live. What does the update do? Microsoft doesn't mention anything specific, only saying, "The March 2006 Xbox 360 update will prepare your Xbox 360 console for future system and title updates."
A new DOA4 update is also up, reports Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb on his blog MajorNelson.com. Hryb reports that the update will also give gamers the opportunity to reset their online statistics at the time the patch is installed, giving those who have been pummeled black and blue a fresh start. However, other than that option, it's unclear what the update actually does.
Xbox Live has been busy of late, with new demos and customizing options appearing several times a week over the past few weeks. Upcoming files expected to be posted soon include demos of THQ's The Outfit and Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

Last week we spotted a suspicious countdown clock on the Rainbow Six website, counting down to what we successfully guessed would be a new Xbox 360 instalment in the veteran tactical-shooting series. Well, as expected here it is confirmed; an all singing, all dancing Rainbow Six: Vegas in all of its scrumptious next-gen glory.
Presumably the Xbox 360 Rainbow Six will see the elite team off to the neon-clad streets of Vegas to fight some nasty terrorists, who may or may not be planning to do something naughty in the City of Sin - and we're not talking about an Al Qaeda stag do either.
As you can probably guess, details are currently thin on the ground for this new Rainbow Six, but we do have some rather tasty-looking screenshots on the way for you to enjoy, which we'll update this story with as soon as Ubisoft courier them over.
Expect us to divulge exciting new Rainbow Six: Vegas Gameplay details as soon as they reach our ears.

Everyone in the office who's been lucky enough to recieve an invite to go hands-on with Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has come back wide-eyed and gushing more profusely than Old Faithful on diuretics. Thankfully though, 2K Games has finally put an end to our jealous seething by announcing the title's imminent release on March 24 in Europe.
Oblvion's scheduled to arrive on both PC and Xbox 360 simultaneously, in both regular and collector's editions. Punters who select the regular edition will have all their Oblivion fantasies fulfilled with their very own copy of the game (no, really) while those who plump for the collector's edition get those very same fantasies and more. Alongside the game, the posh pack contains a 112-page guide to the Elder Scrolls world Tamriel, including detailed information on its people and provinces. There's also a behind-the-scenes 'Making Of' documentary DVD and an authentic replicated Septim gold coin - the official currency of Tamriel.
