Capcom is giving Resident Evil fans that chance to star on the cover of this month's console release of Revelations.
A new Facebook app called Face on Board will launch tomorrow and allow users to personalise the box art with their own photos, either taken from their Facebook account or via webcam.
The Revelations box art shows Jill Valentine trapped behind a porthole, but with Face on Board players can put themselves - or anything else they have photos of - in her place.
They can then share them with friends, or print them out to use when Resident Evil Revelations arrives on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U on Friday, May 24th.
Other activity for Revelations has included a Twitter game where fans tweeted their location as part of a search for the Zenobia, the setting for the game. Both were activities were created for Capcom by Crush London.
Oh, and let's not forget Capcom's blood-filled swimming pool.

 6 million copies of Far Cry 3 have been shipped and sold digitally since its release back in December, greatly exceeding expectations, Ubisoft said in its quarterly financial report today. By comparison, Far Cry 2 shipped 2.9 million during a similar period.The publisher also announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 did immensely well, shipping and digitally selling 12.5 million copies. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations shipped 7 million copies worldwide.

Gift cards based on real, localised currency to replace current system
Microsoft is phasing out its Xbox Points virtual currency in favour of a new gift card system.
Sources “familiar with Microsoft’s Xbox plans” have told The Verge that the gift cards will be more like Apple’s iTunes vouchers, meaning they will be based on real, localised currency.
Consumers will also be able to make transactions using the credit or debit cards in future.
The new system is allegedly set to be unveiled either “as soon as E3”, and will launch in time for the next Xbox, which will be unveiled next week on May 21st.
In October last year, Microsoft confirmed that real currency would be the primary method of payment on Windows 8 to buy Xbox content, although it said Xbox 360 and Live users would still be able to use the Points system.

It appears that while EA's making claims that its Frostbite 3.0 game engine (which powers next-gen's Battlefield 4) can't run on Nintendo's Wii U, the game publisher is also working on bringing "true Frostbite experiences to all major mobile platforms." The Frostbite website details the initiative as "Frostbite Go," and calls it "one of our most exciting current projects."
Without directly saying "Frostbite 3.0," the blurb details Frostbite Go as aimed at "empowering EA game developers" -- in so many words, it sounds like Frostbite Go isn't meant for indies as much as it's meant for EA studios used to working with Frostbite. Battlefield 4 will be the first game from EA to launch using the latest iteration of Frostbite, which isn't a huge surprise considering that BF4's developed by the same folks who develop the engine (EA DICE). It's expected to arrive this fall on both current and next-gen platforms.

 Twitch, the hugely popular streaming service, has launched an app on Xbox 360.Xbox Live Gold subscribers will have full access to app, which will stream the 300 most popular channels ad-free. Viewers will also be able to browse by their preferred game.Twitch will also be hosting a live broadcast with Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb following May 21′s Xbox Revealed event, where Microsoft is expected to unveil the next generation Xbox.

With the next Xbox reveal just ten days away, it's as good a time as ever to revisit a report that dates back to November 2012: Microsoft's reported interest in developing a set-top box, or "Xbox TV." Anonymous sources recently told theWall Street Journal that Microsoft has come as far as producing working prototypes of said media device. Those prototypes reportedly work with Kinect, and are built to provide streaming services for viewers.
The Wall Street Journal also noted that it's unclear whether Microsoft will introduce the as-yet-unannounced device at all. We've contacted Microsoft for comment and will update as we learn more. In the meantime, we recommend that you take a ten-day nap, because the rampant speculation leading up to the Xbox reveal on May 21 probably won't go away.
Update: A Microsoft spokesperson got back to us with the following: "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation."

A slew of new details regarding MercurySteam's highly anticipated Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 have emerged over a pair of previews from OPM UK and OXM UK (via Gaming Everything).First off, you'll be able to control the camera and teleport around seamless environments ala Koji Igarashi's Castlevania games, suggesting something more akin to a 3D Symphony of the Night. Further drawing comparisons to the PlayStation classic is the ability to turn into mist. You'll also be able to glamour mortals and take control of them.Lords of Shadow 2 will also be set across two timelines with the bulk of the game set in modern day environments that have been sculpted to resemble the gothic Castlevania aesthetics well all know and love (remember, the "blank of Sorrow" Castlevanias took place in the future, but you'd never know it).The magic system has been mildly adjusted, too. You'll still have a focus meter in which you're rewarded for combos, parries, and not taking damage, but instead of getting light and magic orbs you get "Dracula's Blood" a resource that can be channeled into the Void Sword or Chaos Claws. These essentially fill the function of light and dark magic from Lords of Shadow with the Void Sword attacks replenishing your health while the Chaos Claws pack a bigger punch and can smash through enemy shields.The experience system has been slightly changed via the new Mastery System, in which you'll be able to level up certain skills by using them a lot.Despite its misleading nomenclature, Lords of Shadow 2 will be the third and final chapter of the Lords of Shadow subseries with the 3DS outing, Mirror of Fate making up its middle chapter.Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be out on PS3 and Xbox 360, but not on Wii U. It could come to Steam though. No release date has been announced.

Activision has released a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.  The minute-long video showcases Sai-wielding bad ass Raphael strutting his stuff, which involves a lot of bounding around environments and cracking skulls.A third-person scrolling fighter supporting four-player online co-op play, Out of the Shadows sees players smashing their way through gritty-looking urban environments inspired by the Nickelodeon animated series.The first release in a three-game deal between Nickelodeon and Activision, the game is being created by Thor: God of Thunder developer Red Fly Studio.It's due for release this summer as a digital download on PSN, XBLA and Steam.

Will enable Brits to stream films including Avengers Assemble, Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.
Internet streaming service Netflix launched in the UK and Ireland back in January last year and passed more than one million users in the region within seven months.
Now, in a bid to continue growing its footprint, the company says British screens will be graced with a bundle of Disney and Disney Pixar films in coming months, including:Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean, Ratatouille, The Aristocats, The Chronicles of Narnia, and more.
Meanwhile, recently released blockbusters like Avengers Assemble and The Muppets will debut in the new year.
Ted Sarandos, chief content officer, Netflix, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer our members an incredible variety of fantastic family films, from recent hits like Marvel’s Avengers Assemble to beloved classics like Mary Poppins. We aim to make Netflix better all the time and hope members enjoy the rich offering of films we are making available from the Disney studios."

A non-games industry site is reporting that Xbox Infinity will indeed be the name of Microsoft’s next console.
International Business Times UK reports claims to have word from “sources related to development of the new Xbox”.
That, quite literally, is it. The rest of the report is a rehash of other Xbox rumours that have been doing the rounds. It also cites rumours that West and Zampella’s Respawn Studios is developing a launch title for the new machine – which in MCV’s opinion is highly unlikely.
The Xbox Infinity branding (or Xbox∞) was first mentioned online as far back as July 2012 although a report earlier this month – which instead tipped Xbox Fusion as the most likely moniker – dismissed the Infinity reports.
Still, we’ll find out in less than two weeks. Microsoft will spill all of its next gen beans on May 21st.

 Epic Games has announced that a second map for the OverRun mode in Gears of War: Judgement will be made available for free to all players on May 15.The map, Dreadnought, will be set on a broken down ship that was previously used to transport captured Berserkers overseas before being destroyed by seabound Locust units.The DLC map is sponsored by Maxim, the second made free by the men’s magazine. The first introduced Execution mode and a new map in Haven.

 The Elder Scrolls Online will launch into a difficult MMOG marketplace and battle against a weighty set of expectations forged by the spectacular Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.To gain greater insight into the challenges facing its developer Zenimax Online, we recently spoke to The Elder Scrolls Online’s game director Matt Firor to discover how his studio is tackling these issues.The last few years haven’t been kind to traditional MMOGs. What, in your mind, is the key to bucking that trend?The biggest single thing you can do to ensure your MMOG is successful is take your time and do it right. You only have one chance to launch, [so] you’ve got to make sure that you have a full range of features for a full range of people. I like to think of it more as we’re making a world that we want people to live in. Yes, there’s a game there, but there’s a lot of games in the game. We want to make sure there’s just a ton of stuff for you to do.There will be players whose first Elder Scrolls game was Skyrim and whose expectations have been set by that game. How do you communicate the ways in which you’re different?Well, we exist in the same universe. We’re making an Elder Scrolls game, but we’re not making Skyrim 2. So I think the Skyrim guys had that same problem when they went from Oblivion to Skyrim: “Your last thing was Oblivion, how could you possibly top that?” We’re not trying to ‘top’ Skyrim. [It’s] a fantastic game – if you wanted to play Skyrim, go play Skyrim, right?

 An enhanced version of last year's Dead or Alive 5, dubbed Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, will fight its way onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point in the future, according to a story at Siliconera. The announcement, made in the pages of the latest issue of Famitsu, states that Ninja Gaiden's Momiji will be added as a playable fighter.
Momiji's inclusion in a new Dead or Alive project was teased during a Japanese tournament late last month. We've reached out to Tecmo Koei for more information and will update with anything we learn regarding North American and European plans.

Intriguing free-to-play Xbox 360 role-player Ascend: New Gods has been re-named Ascend: Hand of Kul, a new trademark listing suggests.Ascend was announced back at E3 2012, although we've heard little of the game since then.Microsoft abandoned its trademark for the game in April, but re-applied last week (thanks,NeoGAF).Ascend is being developed by Signal Studios, which created the enjoyable Toy Soldiers and sequel Toy Soldiers: Cold War for PC and Xbox Live Arcade.The game's official site claims a closed beta is due to begin in June, although its unclear how old this information is.Considering the fact that an open beta is due after that, Ascend is looking to be a very late release in the Xbox 360's life-cycle. That is, of course, unless the game's re-naming is part of a more general re-announcement for the game - perhaps on 21st May at Microsoft's next Xbox reveal event?

Lucid Games, the studio rumoured to be working on a new instalment in the Project Gotham Racing series for Microsoft's next-gen Xbox, plans to release some "exciting" news later this month.  The Liverpool based studio, which was formed in 2011 by ex-Bizarre Creations staff, reposted the image to the right on Facebook late last week, having originally published it on its official website in January. "Road opens 2013," reads a sign in the picture, which is labelled "unannounced project".The following day, Lucid said on the social network: "So yeah, Mid-May will be interesting for the studio. We have some exciting updates coming. Stay tuned!"Microsoft will announce its next-generation Xbox at a special reveal event on May 21.Lucid staff include former Bizarre lead programmer Mark Craig, design manager Craig Howard and development director Peter Wallace. The company also plays home to staff formerly employed by Rare, Slightly Mad Studios (Need for Speed: Shift) and SCE Studio Liverpool, including Collin Berry, the lead designer of WipEout titles Pure, Pulse and HD.Last week, Lucid also announced a new Vita and iOS game called Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, an episodic adventure "brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles".

Microsoft will attend Gamescom 2013 after skipping last year's show, according to a tweet from Xbox EMEA social marketing manager Graeme Boyd.The platform holder will announce its next-generation Xbox at a special reveal event on May 21. We analysed the most credible speculation about Microsoft's upcoming console in thiscountdown to the Next Xbox feature.It was confirmed in February that Nintendo will also be returning to Gamescom in 2013 after missing last year's event.Other confirmed attendees include Bethesda, Bigpoint, Deep Silver, EA, Konami, NCsoft, Riot Games, Ubisoft, Wargaming and Warner Bros.This year's show runs from August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany.
