You have about a year left to experience the online services for seven Halo titles, if you're still playing them on the Xbox 360, or through backwards compatibility. 343 has announced that after many years, and an ever-dwindling playerbase, it's time to "sunset" the servers for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo Wars, Spartan Assault, Halo: ODST, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo: Reach. By December 2021, anything involving online will no longer work, which means online matchmaking won't work, certain achievements will no longer be obtainable, filesharing, and other smaller features will be gone for good. Obviously, the singleplayer campaigns of each of the games will still be fully playable offline. This sunsetting also applies to the lineup, even if you're playing them on the Xbox One, or the Xbox Series X|S. Digital copies of all of these games have also been delisted, following the announcement. For those still interested in playing these games online, there's always The Master Chief Collection, or Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, which will both continue to be supported for a long time to come.

Microsoft has said that it will offer refunds to anyone who has purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store until further notice.
"We know the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk in extremely challenging circumstances," said a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement sent to GamesIndustry.biz. "However, we also realize that some players have been unhappy with the current experience on older consoles.
"To date, we have granted refunds to the vast majority of customers who have requested one. To ensure that every player is able to get the experience they expect on Xbox, we will be expanding our existing refund policy to offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice. To request an Xbox refund, please follow the steps listed on our Xbox refund page."
Additionally, a Best Buy senior social media specialist published details on the store's refund policy in response to a support request on the retailer's official forums, explaining that Best Buy would allow returns of the game for full refunds through December 21 -- including opened packages, which it does not normally allow.
This policy extends to both PS4 and Xbox One physical standard and collector's editions of the game, as well as the Xbox One digital edition.
And finally, CD Projekt Red has issued a new statement on retail refunds after its previous messaging was met with criticism that directing those seeking refunds to platform holders, Sony specifically, was not working for many.
"Our intention is for every owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy bought at retail, who has valid proof of purchase (and sends us an email at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com within the time window) to receive a refund. We will do this out of our own pocket if necessary.
"If you are unable to obtain a refund for the game from the store where you bought it, please contact us via e-mail until December 21st."

Cxbx Reloaded (2020/12/13) is released. Cxbx-Reloaded is an emulator for running Microsoft Xbox (and eventually, Chihiro) games on Microsoft Windows. The project began life as a fork of Cxbx with added 64-bit support. Work is currently underway to backport some of the improvements from Dxbx. Cxbx-Reloaded is still pretty unstable, don't expect it to run much at this point.

It’s time to buckle up because the Gears 5: Hivebusters DLC is live NOW! We know the anticipation has been killing us so enjoy this early Gearsmas present.
This DLC focuses on the origin of Scorpio Squad – the venerable trio of Lahni, Mac, and Keegan who were first introduced in Gears 5’s Escape mode and whose story was expanded in the Hivebusters comic book series. This ragtag group of soldiers has been recruited by Victor Hoffman for an unorthodox mission to take out the Swarm and maybe even change the war forever.

As players continue to work with the Exo Stranger in harnessing the dark power of Stasis in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, we powered the dreams of one gamer and broke a Guinness World Records title for “Largest Projected Video Game Display” to celebrate the game’s recent next-gen update.
Working with Bungie and snowboarder and dreamer, Grant Giller, we powered an epic Destiny 2 gaming experience inspired by Europa – projecting the game onto a 180 x 105-ft wide screen on the side of the mountain with the skyline of the 10-mile mountain range of Colorado lit up in the background.
Giller capped off the final run of the day on his custom Destiny 2 x Xbox snowboard by exploring the new Europa destination and using the new Stasis subclass in Destiny 2 on Xbox Series X. The game session took place at an elevation of over 11,000 feet at the top of beautiful Copper Mountain in Colorado, making this one of the highest elevation projects ever produced.

The time has come for you to climb Dharma Tower once again with an exciting new game mode launching December 17, and a new set of skins in the Ghostrunner Winter Pack DLC coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S today for only $1.99. 2021 will also be an action-packed year for Ghostrunner with several exciting modes and DLC.
Hardcore mode is the new game plus version of Ghostrunner that you can unlock after you complete the game. In the new Hardcore mode, you will keep upgrades you unlocked in your original playthrough, but there are more enemies and more enemy types challenging you from the very beginning.

When we originally set out to write this blog post, which would announce the availability of EA Play on PC with Xbox Game Pass, it looked a little bit different. Unfortunately, what had been a celebratory post is now one asking for a little more patience: We made the decision to delay until 2021 the release of EA Play on PC as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate memberships.
We established this partnership with Electronic Arts because they are as passionate as we are about helping people and communities discover great games, and we knew we could provide a great experience for members by working together. In order to deliver on that, we need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience.
We’ll have more to share early next year; as always, we appreciate your support as we work to deliver this experience for our Xbox Game Pass members. Stay tuned for more information.

Microsoft's Game Pass cloud streaming features are coming to iOS and PC in spring of 2021, the company announced today.
After previous attempts to get Game Pass streaming on iOS were squashed by Apple, Microsoft is resorting to the same workaround used by Nvidia for its GeForce Now offering and will support game streaming on iOS through a browser rather than a dedicated app.

Call of Duty is enjoying a banner year, as Activision today announced that with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the franchise has now surpassed $3 billion in net bookings.
That total includes contributions from Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Mobile, and Call of Duty Warzone, which launched in March.
Net bookings for 2020 are up 80% year-to-date, with units sold of the mainline Call of Duty games up 40% year-over-year.

Xenia Git (2020/11/26) is compiled. Xenia is an experimental emulator for the Xbox 360. It does not run games (yet).
Xenia Status:
Some real games run. Most don't. See the Game compatibility list for currently tracked games and feel free to contribute your own updates, screenshots, and information there following the existing conventions.
