Microsoft's newest Zunes (along with the 3.0 software) have been out for well over a month now, which means you've had ample opportunity to really test one out and form some educated opinions. Now, it's time to open up and let loose. Are you still down with the design? Do you appreciate the extras that came with three point oh? What else could've been added to really spice things up? Do us a favor and tell the suits in Redmond what you would've done differently, and moreover, how things can be made better the next time it feels the itch to bust out a software update.

Newly released today:
features
Wheel-to-Wheel Circuit Racing. Each race is a stage allowing the player to progress further down the baja peninsula
Damage & Wear - All vehicles are susceptible to wear and will lose parts and get dirty, scratched, etc.
Physics-Infused Surfaces - Race across dirt, sand, mud, asphalt, etc.. All of which react realistically to tires and affect handling
description
No race demands more endurance of both man and machine than the Baja 1000. SCORE International Baja 1000 recreates the unforgiving conditions and blistering speeds that make this event the most recognized and entertaining off-road racing event in the world. Sporting over 90 vehicles across multiple classes in the real Baja 1000 - including trophy trucks, class I, motorcycles, ATVs and more - the game challenges you to not only be first across the finish line, but also keep your machine intact. Hyper-realistic dirt and damage modeling in the game means you need to be crazy enough to take chances, but not so reckless that your vehicle is destroyed before the race is over.

In its latest video exposé on the New Xbox Experience, the Gamerscore Blog has teamed with Major Nelson and a few project insiders to show off how Avatars will work in several older XBLA titles. Specifically, Uno, Bomberman Blast, Hardwood Hearts, and Hardwood Spades will all incorporate the virtual "yous" in various ways.
In the case of these games, player Avatars will be visible on-screen – you can't actually play as your Avatar in Bomberman, sadly. The video does show that players will be able to be ... themselves in the upcoming Ninjabee town building game, A Kingdom for Keflings. (This is likely the new title the Gamerscore crew refer to in their blog update.)
A title update for Scene It? Box Office Smash will roll out on Nov. 19 to enable in-game player Avatars (looks like the game didn't ship ready for NXE after all.) Check out the full video below the break.

Earlier this month we learned that a California man has decided to sue Microsoft over RRoD issues claiming that the company knew around 50% of the consoles shipped were defective (some claim the figure could be as high as 68 percent.) As you know, Microsoft extended their warranty plan at great expense to help cover their ass, but having to send back consoles repeatedly wears real thin, real fast. So, I am curious to know: how many times have you danced with the RRoD?

There's some hysterical outrage out there right now over the New Xbox Experience's HD Netflix HDCP restrictions -- apparently it only works with HDCP-compliant digital displays, which is prompting a lot of hand-wringing about copyright restrictions and whether older 360s will get "locked out." Well, we're here to make it all better -- that's our NXE-equipped 360 connected over component, happily playing back HD Netflix at 1080i. See? Works fine. The problem is that some older LCD monitors don't support HDCP over DVI, so if you're in the minority of people using an HDMI to DVI adapter to drive an older display that doesn't do HDCP, HD Netflix won't work, since it can't authenticate. That's not the best situation, but DVI isn't a default supported 360 output, so we wouldn't expect 100 percent compatibility -- and besides, you can always run VGA. We're waiting on official confirmation from Microsoft of all this -- we want to get things absolutely right -- but in the meantime you can console yourself with another shot of HD Heroes over component after the break.
Update: Yes, it works with movies too -- we just tried it with The Orphanage (above), and it looked great.

If you managed to pull in the reigns and hold off on Fanatec's wireless Porsche 911 Turbo Racing Wheel back in April, you can get a beautiful alternative right about now with even more utility. Today, the outfit has introduced the limited edition Porsche 911 Turbo S Racing Wheel for Xbox 360 -- which, contrary to its name, actually plays nice with the PlayStation 3 and PC. Of note, there are three variants from which to choose: a 911 Turbo S Edition, Clubsport Edition, and Pure Edition, all of which are licensed by Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH and feature a 900° steering angle. You'll also find a 6+1 shifter, and if you opt for the Clubsport Edition, you'll get high-end pedals that are actually crafted from aluminum and feature a load cell pressure sensor for the brake. The pain? $250, $400 and $150 in order of mention, 90% of which is totally paying for that logo in the middle.

We keep waiting for "wireless" contact charging pads to blow our minds and revolutionize the way we use gadgets, but perhaps we're just being idiot optimists. Or perhaps not. We're seeing great possibilities with this latest implementation of WildCharger's tech, the TouchCharge Kit from Psyclone for Xbox 360 controllers. The kit includes a rechargeable battery pack with the appropriate contacts and of course the charging pad. If you need to keep four controllers charging simultaneously, the $69-per setup pricetag might put this out of reach, but the Federal Reserve wouldn't be dropping interest rates right and left if it didn't want us racking up hundreds of dollars in consumer debt for game peripherals, right? EB Games has this up for pre-order now, should ship on December 15th.

Here are a handful of new rather stunning-looking screenshots from Ubisoft's new Prince of Persia.
Our hands-on with the first act of the game has also gone live, and in a clever ploy to make you read it we've put the screenshots over there.
Ubisoft's also supplied some lovely artwork, which you can find below.
It's out on December 5.

Microsoft is to launch a new standalone hard drive bundle for Xbox 360 in the US.
For USD 100, consumers will get a 60GB hard disk drive, a three-month Gold subscription to Xbox Live, a headset and an ethernet cable.
A standalone 120GB hard drive is already available in both the US and Europe. There's no word yet on whether the 60GB model will be released in Europe.
Microsoft has also revealed the New Xbox Experience update, due on 19th November, will let US users stream Netflix videos in high definition, provided they have a high-speed internet connection with 8 - 10 Mbps of bandwidth.
Netflix is the movie rental service that allows subscribers to order films via their Xbox 360. As yet there's no equivalent service available in Europe.

While the New Xbox Experience adds all sorts of great new functionality – high-definition Netflix movies; Avatars; a group-chat party system – there is one feature that it's missing: automatic downloads. "What the crap is automatic downloads?" you blurt out. Well, we're glad you asked, Mr. Inappropriate Screaming guy. Automatic downloads were part of an earlier Xbox 360 Dashboard update, which allowed you to opt-in to receive an "automatic download" of every new Xbox Live Arcade title that launched, in trial mode. But the Xbox gurus in Redmond stripped it from the NXE, even teasing MTV by asking, "You actually use that?"
Well, yes, MTV's Stephen Totilo did, and he wants to know if you're going to miss automatic downloads as much as he is. Our best guess into the culprit behind this whodunit: Xbox Live Arcade's currently worthless "conversion rate" metric. You see, if everyone downloads demos automatically, regardless of whether or not they have any interest whatsoever in playing (and then purchasing) the game, one of Microsoft's (and the digital distribution market's) greatest metrics is rendered worthless. Microsoft doesn't really know how many people are converting its trial games into full games ... well, not yet anyhow.
The New Xbox Experience launches globally on November 19.

Microsoft and Netflix are requiring that users of their swell little HD streaming service are connected to HDCP-compatible display. This potentially limits access for people who connect to older LCD screens via DVI, and maybe even owners of early optical output-only Xboxes, both of whom shall be referred to from now on as "THIIEEEVES!"

Newly in stock at Divineo UK
New in this kit is the ability to extract the key from the new Liteon drives in order for you to be able to use another model drive which can be updated / repaired.
The CK3 Lite is an optical disc drive adapter (ODD) so that means you will not have to have your beloved 360 hooked up to your PC, no fuss of moving all your equipment across rooms and dragging around that huge 360 power supply! As part of the ODD adapter, advanced features such as a debug mode which allows an ODD to be recognised in Windows/Linux without any special firmware. This provides a future proof way for recognising the drive on your operating system for use with other hack functions later. If you don't have a spare ODD lying around, and let's face it the majority of us don't then this is a really useful piece of kit.

Unhappy about having to pay 1200 Microsoft Points - over a tenner - to play Portal: Still Alive on Xbox Live Arcade? Well, probably not. In which case, perhaps you'll be happy to pay that again for this Wednesday's offering, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader: Make the Grade.
Or not. But either way, AYSTA5G is developed by Blitz Arcade and published by THQ, and goes for the aforementioned 1200 MSP (GBP 10.20 / EUR 14.40). It's a quiz game based on the grade school (primary) curriculum, with 6,000 questions across 21 subjects.
It's based on the US TV show of the same name, where host Jeff Foxworthy asks a series of questions based on the junior curriculum, with contestants gradually moving towards a USD 1 million prize the more they get right. We've never seen it, but Wikipedia reckons a UK version (Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old?) was or is hosted by Noel Edmonds and/or Dick & Dom.
There's more info on the Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader: Make the Grade page on Xbox.com, and you can buy it from 9am GMT on Wednesday. As with all XBLA releases, there's also a demo and 12 unlockable Achievements in the paid-for version.
Also out on Wednesday is a Marble Blast Ultra multiplayer level. It's free and even adds one new unlockable Achievement. If you haven't played the pretty decent Marble Blast Ultra for a while, you could do worse.

An Xbox Live 'starter pack' has been revealed, designed to give 360 Arcade owners one-stop entry into the world of online gaming.
The pack includes a 60GB hard drive, a headset, and Ethernet cable and a three-month gold subscription to Xbox Live.
This will come for $99 in US according to online retailers, and will be out on November 4.
Although no European price has been announced, a 79 Euro (around £64) price has been hinted, along with an unconfirmed November 21 release.
Not the cheapest of proposals (you could buy the equivalent gear for a PC for MUCH less), but it'll be handy for those who want to start using their 360 properly. Shame it doesn't come with the silver disc tray cover, too - the final touch to bling an Arcade console up to full Premium pack status.
We're currently awaiting confirmation of a UK release from MS.
