The popular iPhone and PC casual strategy game Plants vs Zombies will be heading to Xbox 360 this September.
Consumers will be able to purchase a boxed edition of the game or download it from Xbox Live for 1,200 Microsoft Points – around £10. PopCap also confirmed retail versions of Zuma and Peggle will hit stores later this year.
Plants vs Zombies on Xbox 360 boasts seven game modes including a range of features exclusive to the console. Gamers have access to 21 mini-games, two multiplayer modes – co-op and versus – and 12 unlockable achievements.
The news comes following suggestions that the Xbox 360 port would include a previously unannounced co-op option.
“With a ton of new features and content exclusive to the XBLA version, we've pulled out all the stops to both expand and optimise this adaptation for a hardcore gaming audience,” said PopCap’s head of worldwide studios Ed Allard.
“The two new multiplayer modes allow gamers to work cooperatively to defeat hordes of invading zombies, or go head-to-head in a true 'Plants vs Zombies' challenge.”
A fixed release date for the game has not yet been announced. PopCap says a game of the year edition will also arrive on PC and Mac later this year – bundled with a zombie figurine.
