Computing giant says fee allows users to install game from disc and onto their account
Xbox One users will likely have to pay an extra fee to play pre-owned games, Microsoft has confirmed.
As reported by Wired, games can be installed from a disc and directly onto the console's hard drive, meaning users will not have to insert the disc again after.
A statement from Microsoft suggested that it may be a mandatory requirement to install each game from the disc.
“On the new Xbox, all game discs are installed to the HDD to play,” said a spokesperson.
Microsoft then confirmed that users of a pre-owned game will have to pay a fee to gain access to the title if it had already been installed on another console so they could use it on their own account.
