Senator Barack Obama has won the unofficial US election poll on Xbox Live by a margin of 12 per cent.
Nearly 100,000 people took part - more than the combined samples from recent Gallup, NBC and CNN polls.
Obama received 43 per cent of the vote, while rival John McCain registered 31 per cent. A further 13 per cent of voters picked other candidates, and 13 per cent said they were undecided.
The poll was held as part of Microsoft's Rock the Vote initiative, which kicked off on 25th August. Since then more than 55,000 voter registration forms have been downloaded via Xbox Live and Xbox.com.
Users also downloaded nearly 25,000 videos of the Democratic and Republican conventions.
