Microsoft will unlock Xbox Live Gold privileges for all Xbox 360 users this weekend, the platform holder has announced.
Starting this Friday, October 4 through Sunday October 6, anyone with an Xbox Live account (in the territories listed below) will have full Gold-status access, which most notably includes multiplayer and party chat functionality.
Regions participating in the promotion include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
The promotion will prove to be perfect timing for non-Gold-using GTA fans, with the free period falling just days after the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, which went live earlier today.
Xbox owners in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico will get their chance at Gold access on Oct. 11 - 14, while players in Japan will have to wait until Nov. 7 - 10.
