Headset manufacturer Turtle Beach will make headsets for the Xbox One's proprietary data port, it has been confirmed. The major headset brand, which boasts 50 per cent market share in the United States, announced today that it is working with Microsoft on the headsets.The announcement follows news yesterday that the Xbox One's new proprietary data port will render current headsets obsolete.
"In Turtle Beach we have a partner that can help Microsoft deliver world class gaming audio experiences to our customers," Microsoft Director of Strategic Alliances Branden Powell said.
No word on specific models has been provided.
Reports yesterday suggested that Xbox One's proprietary data port will gain Microsoft more control over the production of third party peripherals.
