Following confirmation that Splinter Cell: Blacklist's US release date has been delayed, Ubisoft has confirmed a UK release date of August 23, 2013. The release was confirmed via way of a new trailer, and represents a delay from the previously pencilled Spring 2013 release window.Labelled "the most ambitious Splinter Cell" yet, Blacklist sees Sam Fisher (now voiced by actor Eric Johnson) as leader of the newly formed 4th Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the President of the United States.
The game is the first title developed by Ubisoft Toronto and will feature single player, co-op and Spies vs. Mercenaries modes. There's still no word on the rumoured Wii U version of the game, which was listed online by US retailer Best Buy last year.
