Microsoft is confident that 360 will continue to have growing sales numbers throughout 2008, despite a global economic slump and the touting of 2008 belonging to PS3.
So says Alan Bowman, general manager of Microsoft's entertainment and devices division for Asia Pacific and Greater China - the part of the company you rarely hear about.
Bowman points towards the growing demand for HD TVs as a key benefactor for 360s this year. "If people are going to buy HD TVs, they're going to want to put content through that," he said.
He added that, despite being second to Wii in total console sales (17.5 million sales to Wii's 20 million), 360 leads in revenue.
He stated that, in the US market alone, 360 revenue, including accessories, is 2.5 times that of Nintendo's Wii, and 3.5 times that of PS3, which has sold around 10.5 million to date.
"It's not just about the actual number of consoles," Bowman told Dow Jones (via Morning Star).
He declined, however, to disclose how many console the company expects to sell throughout the year.
