Microsoft has announced revenue of USD 51.12 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30, a 15 per cent increase over the prior year.
Revenue growth was driven primarily by Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.
Despite taking a USD 1.15 billion charge related to Xbox 360 warranty issues, Microsoft finished the quarter ending June 30 with revenue of USD 13.37 billion and net profit of 3.04 billion.
"Our results this quarter cap off an extremely strong fiscal year for the company," said CFO Chris Liddell. "We have healthy core businesses and are strategically investing in growth opportunities, which will build on our success and contribute to continued double-digit revenue and earnings growth in fiscal year 2008."
For the quarter ending September 30, Microsoft management expects revenue in the range of US 12.4 to 12.6 billion.
