An Xbox rep has reaffirmed that Halo 5 for Xbox One will be released in 2014.
Microsoft's senior PR manager for Halo, Rob Semsey, moved to appease the concerns of gamers who noted that, in an announcement on Mondayregarding Xbox One sales, Microsoft exec Yusif Mehdi left Halo out of his list of anticipated Xbox One games coming in 2014. Mehdi boasted of a "promising" lineup of Xbox One titles in 2014, touting Titanfall, Watch Dogs and several other games, but no mention of Halo 5 - which was announced at E3 last year for a 2014 release.
But this is not an indication of a delay, assured Semsey via Twitter. "Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," he reasoned (although the title is expected to be 'Halo 5').
"Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014," he added.
Mehdi announced that Microsoft had sold more than three million Xbox One units by the end of 2013 globally. "It's been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox", he said.
