Fallout 3 has been cancelled by Microsoft India for release in the region, with the company citing "cultural sensitivities".
Bethesda's post-apocalyptic title has been axed in the region due to unspecified content that Microsoft believes could offend consumers in India. Due to the distribution agreements in the region, Microsoft was set to publish the title on the Xbox 360 itself, while the PlayStation 3 and PC versions were never scheduled to be released.
"Microsoft constantly endeavours to bring the best games to Indian consumers in sync with their international release," said the company in a statement, reported by Gaming Indians. "However, in light of cultural sensitivities in India, we have made the business decision to not bring Fallout 3 into the country."
The latest sequel in the massively popular Fallout series already received much criticism for drug references, which were later removed.
This news breaks shortly after reports that Fallout 3 was leaked online and subsequently distributed through file sharing websites weeks before it's release date.
