Assassin's Creed 4 director Ashraf Ismail has revealed that Ubisoft has a rough idea for the ending of the franchise.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Ismail confirmed that there "is an end" to the Assassin's Creed franchise.
Ismail explains that among the multiple development teams, there is a brand team that "sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series' overall arc. So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this."
"There is an end", Ismail says, but nothing is set in stone, and there is room for changes.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that Assassin's Creed would adopt an annual release strategy, so with a game being shipped each year, Ismail says that "depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we've given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end."
The latest in the series, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is set for releaseon PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U October 29 in the US, October 31 in Australia, and November 1 in the UK.
Ubisoft detailed the Assassin's Creed 4 PlayStation exclusive content last month, and for more on the swashbuckling adventure, check out thelatest screenshots.
