On Wednesday this week news broke that Capcom is set to resurrect the original NES Bionic Commando for the 21st century, and here are first screens and movie to prove it.
Bionic Commando Rearmed is set to release via digital download this spring on Live Arcade, PSN and PC and features the same 2D side-scrolling, shooting and grappling action as the 1988 original, but it's all been nicely revamped.
Not only are we getting an expected visual overhaul but Capcom's not left the gameplay stone unturned either. It's introducing new weapons, online rankings, a reworked musical score and a two-player co-op mode.
Apparently Rearmed even unlocks new content for the 'next generation' Bionic Commando currently in development, and spills secrets on that game's plot.
For anyone unfamiliar with the original Bionic Commando game, the side-scrolling action-platformer starred a weapon-toting lead character that also happened to sport a bionic arm that acted like a grappling hook which allowed him to navigate around levels.
