Adam Orth, the Microsoft creative director who last week defended 'always-online' on Twitter, has left the company.
The news come via
Game Informer, who were tipped by an unnamed source that Orth had left the company. The website later confirmed his departure with the Microsoft headquarters switchboard. It's not clear whether Orth was dismissed or voluntarily resigned.Orth sparked internet-wide outrage last week when he vehemently defended 'always online' technology amid rumours the next Xbox console will require an internet connection."Every device now is 'always on'," Orth tweeted. "That's the world we live in. #dealwithit."Microsoft later distanced itself from Orth's comments. "This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views are not reflective of those of the company."Of course, Microsoft didn't comment on the specifics of whether they intend to use the technology in their forthcoming console, which is rumoured to be unveiled on May 21.
